That scene always makes me laugh because Magneto is so awesome to watch. Michael Fassbender does an excellent job.
They have never truly shown just how powerful Magneto truly is. To give you an idea his contour of magnetic fields and the level of power ot actually is, is vastly more powerful than it has ever been shown. For him to pull metallic particles, or pull metal from a person's blood, means his magnetic fields would be able to manipulate even "Non Magnetic" materials. In reality everything is magnetic, it's just to what degree they are that defines them as "magnetic". He would be able to separate the elements of your body into their respective forms. Meaning they will all separate and condense to each other because of their differing magnetisms.
@@cactusmalone Aight here. Magnetic fields are created as a consequence of special relativity through the movement of charges or changing electric fields. This means that magnetic fields can pull on moving electrons, but will do nothing to electrons that are stationary. When materials are considered magnetic or non-magnetic, this is due the structural properties of the material and if the electrons are moving within the material. This is why iron, cobalt, and nickel (the three magnetic elements) are considered magnetic, and other elements are not. So that part is at least somewhat accurate. However, in general you can't manipulate non-magnetic materials with magnetic fields in the way Magneto does, no matter how strong they are. Once again, this has to do with how charges are moving through a material, and if the electrons are not moving, then the magnetic field has no effect on the material. No matter how strong a magnetic field is, 0 x something = 0 (blatant simplification of the Lorentz force). You might be wondering why only iron, cobalt, and nickel are magnetic, instead of most conductors (or at least ferromagnetic, there are some other types of magnetism, but these are the main ones). This has to do with the way electrons move on a larger scale. In most conductors, the electrons are free to move but move randomly. This means that the forces generated from every electron cancels out with the forces generated from other electron. However, in the ferromagnetic elements, the electrons aren't moving as randomly, but are able to align themselves within a magnetic field, which means the force from every electron acts in roughly the same direction. The part that is most explicitly wrong is that Magneto isn't pulling out the non-magnetic iron compounds, but rather the iron that was ingested/injected (I don't remember which happened, it's been a while). It's similar to how cereal actually has iron filings in it, you can pull it out with a magnet because it is just pure iron. You can't do this with hemoglobin, which is an iron compound and less magnetic (or at least not ferromagnetic). Magneto doesn't actually manipulate any non-magnetic materials in this clip, because he can't. He's not "separating elements into their respective forms," he's literally just pulling out the iron. He's not messing with all the elements in their body or separating them, he's literally just pulling the iron (and specifically elemental iron or iron alloys) out.
The CGI in the X-Men movies is top notch I don't think anything can really top it. It is very easy to just make magneto a metalbender like in avatar where everything forms to his will but no everything is kept in its very natural state and he continues to wield it as such and not letting everything be green latern-ifed as soon as he takes control of it.
The thing is, he CAN form metal to his will. I believe it was X-men 3 where he's stuck in the plastic room and he pulls iron from the guard's blood. He forms the iron into a ball and then later a disc to take him across the chasm.
Honestly, if I was a mutant I'd respect what Charles always tried to do but realistically, Magneto is right... mankind would never ever stop hunting down or experimenting on mutants. I'd join Magneto. It's the fight between idealism and realism.
It’s frustrating, because I can see both sides. The problem is, they are both so polarized. If they would just meet each other in the middle, they would be able to find common ground. There were people sympathetic to the mutants that could have truly helped Eric, and Charles couldn’t have been happy bout the experiments. If they hadn’t been so staunch in refusing to budge, they would have made an unstoppable force. But then I guess we wouldn’t have had the movies. Lol
It's exactly the same thing with Black Panther. I hated the protagonist and sided with the antagonist because the first stank of privilege and corruption while the second chose activism and direct action to better the future of his kind. For me Black Panther (and his family) was the villain.
Never watched the movie but apparently he used his amazing powers against all the enemies, like crushing them in entire wagons and shit but against the main villian hes like guess Ill use guns like anybody could do. Might not be the main villian though, just looked like it.
Magneto is in a class all his own. They only hinted at it in the movies but he is so powerful that if he wanted to he could rip the earth right off its magnetic poles.

@SEN-NoVa an anti-hero is the hero of a story who doesn't care how he achieves his goal, a hero cares. An anti-villain is the antagonist of the story who has morals but his final goals are bad. MAGNETO FASSBENDER will always be one of the most memorable and best aspect of the X-MEN films and gaved the 300th like i guess as token for Stelios been another great role of his
It is amazing what you can do with metal. Magneto’s great powers are not just based on his control of metal. They are also testament to his boundless imagination and creativity.
If you had Magneto's powers you could make a ton of money on scrap metal just by pulling all of the sunk ships off the floor of oceans, seas, and lakes. Pulling old abandoned pipelines out of the ground. Even wooded sailing ships used a fair amount of iorn and steel in them which would make finding all of the wrecks of ships that were hauling gold and silver and other valuable metals a lot easier to find.
Scrap metal is just about worthless. Even in massive quantitys you won't really get any thing for it. The cost to turn it in to usable materials, is really high. So any selling price would be about 1/1000. Tho prices for renown items from places like Titanic, could however be worth some on the black market.
@@mr-x7689 If it cost little more but a thought to get it, it is still a ton of money for all of the thousands of tones of steel and iron from sunk ships. And as stated, if those sunk ships are some of those that sunk while carrying precious metals and gems, recovering that through conventional means would be far more than worth it. Of course, as the master of magnetism, you could simple form a huge scoop and use it to scoop the entire area of the sunken treasure ship up and sort through stuff on dry ground. Well worth the effort. Unfortunately, a Magneto is and always will be nothing more than a comic book character.
@@windows9364 Unlike the Titanic, where the steerage passengers were locked below the regular passenger decks, treasure ships were not passenger ships and they were much smaller, and during a storm the entire crew would have been on the top deck tending to the sails and other critical ship needs. That would mean that when the ship sank the crew would have been swept far away from the ship's wreckage. Besides, as long as humanity has lived and died, there are very few places where you can dig or build that is not the burial place of someone sometime in the past.
I believe that even though Magneto's powers are in theory less powerful than people like Wanda Maximoff or Jean Grey because his are only magnetic, he is more powerful than them simply because their powers have other powers to compliment them, making their telekinesis less focused. However, Magneto has the magnetic power only, thus his power is far more focused, letting him do things with his power that they simply cannot do. Examples: 6:27, where he lifts an entire stadium and moves it serveral miles, or even better, 9:52 where he LITERALLY MANIPULATES METAL WORLDWIDE.
Yes, because it has metal elements duh. You're not saying anything new.Theres metallic elements in humans as well. He uses the earths magnetic pull to levitate himself. If its involves metal he can use it to his advantage
Bro can literally manipulate one of the four fundamental forces of reality. If you see him as just a guy that can move metal, you are vastly underestimating what Magneto is capable of.

Magneto's awesome which is why I wish we got to see him do more with his powers. I wish we got to see him use more creativity and versatility more often like when he snaked metal rods through Wolverine to subdue and throw him out of the stadium.
His power isn't moving metal with his mind, it's controlling magnetic fields. There's so much more he do with his powers that he doesn't because writers don't have an education in physics.
@@aminulhussain2277 Agreed. Micheal fassbender was the absolute best choice for magneto. His powers alone are amazing and made the films worth watching. A magneto solo film would be excellent.
Michael Fassbender in that bar & bank or the ocean lifting a submarine gives me goosebumps. Too bad he's portrayed as a villain in the end. I could watch an entire movie where he's the protagonist
The point where it becomes entirely undeniable that Magneto is a huge powerhouse is in Apocalypse, when you consider the fact that of the 4 "horsemen" that were chosen they ALL received significant power boosts, all but him. All Apocalypse did was give him a bit of a hint at how his power could truly be wielded and that's all. Personally I think the reason he left Magneto un-enhanced is because he was secretly afraid of just how powerful he'd become otherwise.
Electromagnetism is no joke of a power. Its the strongest fundamental force of the universe. If Magneto got boosted he could literally push everyone's atoms that make up their body apart and make them vanish Thanos style. Or he could mess up earth's magnetic field which is also rip everyone.
@@MrMaKeMeDiNnEr Yea, he's one of the comic characters that the movies basically have to nerf pretty hard just to make him not instantly demolish whatever comes at him. Those John wick style fights in the train using his power set is fucking sick. If they made all the movies that good they would’ve been up there with marvel flicks, that shit is wild to watch. He snapped that chicks neck with a chunk of metal by jamming it through her throat and twisting. Brutal.
When he was battling Jean over the helicopter, (even though she wasn’t trying her hardest) and he was able to save the men, that was one of the few times I was convinced a superhero was actually using their powers. That going from casual to full force when he realized he had to was perfect.
From the Coin through the fingers plotting on the bank manager, to Argentina, to the confrontation with Shaw. First Class was the most bad ass Magneto, even without the over the top powers he displays in the other movies.

Magneto's story is truly heartbreaking on film. It's like dude just wanted to be left alone to find happiness & the rest of the world was like "nah son".
Magneto's powers are limited to how he can conceptualize their use. The more abstract the thing he's trying to manipulate is, the harder it is for him to focus on.
I have a special place in my heart for all of the X-Men movies but if they had better directors and fight choreographers this franchise would have been PEAK. Really hoping for the best when they're brought into the MCU
I love the fact that the magnet having the ability to control magnetic fields doesn't limit it, it has a great level of creativity, it can make magnetic fields, it can fly, it can kill, it can distort metal, it can control iron in the blood of people he can destroy the planet like we saw in apocalypse.

Like the way he escaped the plastic prison.
Out of hand
@@dtyodeller lmao
That's not at all how magnetism works but okay.
It is very easy to just make magneto a metalbender like in avatar where everything forms to his will but no everything is kept in its very natural state and he continues to wield it as such and not letting everything be green latern-ifed as soon as he takes control of it.
same, I hate glowing light like what they did in Gifted, looks a bit goofy😂
The thing is, he CAN form metal to his will. I believe it was X-men 3 where he's stuck in the plastic room and he pulls iron from the guard's blood. He forms the iron into a ball and then later a disc to take him across the chasm.

@@mr-x7689
If it cost little more but a thought to get it, it is still a ton of money for all of the thousands of tones of steel and iron from sunk ships.
Its not a bad idea, but its really disrespectful, especially for ones like Titanic. Selling the graves of hundreds of people for money.
@@windows9364
Unlike the Titanic, where the steerage passengers were locked below the regular passenger decks, treasure ships were not passenger ships and they were much smaller, and during a storm the entire crew would have been on the top deck tending to the sails and other critical ship needs. That would mean that when the ship sank the crew would have been swept far away from the ship's wreckage.
Besides, as long as humanity has lived and died, there are very few places where you can dig or build that is not the burial place of someone sometime in the past.

Well yeah, he’s not called an Omega-level mutant for nothing.
