Norton put so much thought and effort into assisting the team to give us this Hulk. I watched a video showing how they thought of how his build should be, to be hulking but functional looking rather than caricature, and even down to how his hair should be. They even tried different hair styles! Norton really wanted this to be the best depiction of Hulk and it damn well shows. It’s a shame Marvel just pinned the “difficult to work with” badge on him. I mean please an actor of Norton’s calibre difficult to work with? This man gave us American History X and Fight Club for God’s sake! They just wanted to go with their own bullshit direction with a “yes sir, no sir” actor rather than someone who truly understood the character he was portraying. Don’t get me wrong, I like Ruffalo but damn it they made him a low key simp for Natasha and an overhyped green ape exhibiting how toddlers have tantrums.

I love after hulk tears the rest of his shirt off he does a quick roll of the shoulders like something you see in boxing or other intense sports. A very “human” mannerism and nice touch❤
thanos literally picked hulk up over his head in infinity war. I'm not a fan of hulk's anger being stripped from him since in reality i used to be a very angry person and despite controlling my anger it is still very much there so what they've done to him post endgame is honestly quite stupid. people need to stop fantasizing and acting like zero character development hulk/bruce banner is somehow the best since both have their strengths and weaknesses. I'm personally a fan of hulk maturing so that he can function but I don't think that maturity had to come at the cost of him loosing what made him the hulk.
Thanos would've finished this Hulk even easier 🤦 he has no durability to fight Thanos, he wasn't even able to get up when the abomination threw him off. He has no striking strength feats and no remarkable speed compared to the Avengers 2012 Hulk. This Hulk is ridiculously overrated
6:07 I like how you can just see the exasperation in his face and in his body language before getting angry and fighting him again. Bro's just went "Oh for God's sake. Screw it, we ball." lmao and I like him for that.
Really was more of a monster movie than a superhero movie. Not saying I didn't love the movie, they did well portraying how monstrous gamma mutants are.
When Betty yells for Hulk to stop, I get chills from the anger Hulk has at that moment. It's such a great scene showing his lack of control at the time. I've yet to feel that from any movie disney has been a part of. This is the Hulk we should've gotten, not the pander version we have now.
This version of Hulk would've given Thanos (pre-gauntlet) a proper run for his money. I still believe Thannos would have ended up the victor between the two given his tactical combat experience and ability to think faster than Hulk, but he would've been badly beaten up and limped away from the fight. Only thing that may sway the fight in Hulks favor would be if Thanos revealed that he was planning to erase half the universal population including Betty Ross. That would likely tip Hulk over the edge of pissed off.
The only time this Hulk is winning is when he's using weapons. This Hulk sucks. He's like a bad time for a small community but not a city. Thor would flick this Hulk into a coma.
@@cole6474 the military chased him down and never talk to him like a person which is shown often in the comic and movie, he never destroy anything in purpose. Monster destroy in purpose despite it's form, be scary or the person next to you, you never know

No joke, but I remember people shitting on this movie. When you love movies like this, please support them because the haters won many fans. Now look. I think a decade later and people think this was the best Hulk. He is, btw
Yep I was just a kid but I remember this movie being poorly received on release. I honestly thought it was kinda boring back then too. But much like all the other Hollywood IPs, once I saw how bad it could really get I appreciated this movie 1000 times more.
So true. Same with the X-men movies and spider-man 3. People were too harsh, I’d take any those movies compared to the slop that gets put out today like Ant Man or Captain Marvel.
The thing with Hulk is that Betty is the only one that can calm him down, this movie showed that part of Hulk very well. Loving Betty is the strongest and only connection Banner has with Hulk.
With the benefit of hindsight, it makes enough sense that this Hulk would find his happy place on Sakaar where all the fighting is for sport; fighting is what he's good at, after all. I like to think this movie portrays Hulk not as a thoughtless rage monster, but as a human hybrid that can still think for himself. This Hulk clearly has an "I only fight if I have to" attitude, which might make him less intimidating, but I think that could've acted as a starting point for Hulk discovering his full power, had the MCU taken his character in a different direction. One thing I love about this film is how it shows Hulk's reaction to getting hit by someone (almost) equally as powerful as him for the first time in his life. Since Hulk's power is based on his rage, I think it serves as really good characterization/humanization that his first time getting hit by Blonsky doesn't just get him angrier, it clearly hurts. I also love that Hulk runs after the final fight instead of turning back into Bruce, which is why I say he has an "I only fight if I have to" attitude. It clearly shows that Hulk, as a person, wants to live a live of his own almost as if he was a separate being from Bruce. Yes, Bruce knows that the military will continue to hunt him regardless of his good deed (taking Blonksy down), but in most iterations Hulk would've just attacked the helicopter. We even see in Age of Ultron that he can be mind-controlled, which adds to the idea that Hulk has a human mind despite his monstrous body. I feel like Norton wanted the Hulk to be a kind of mask for Bruce Banner to wear, but I can't help but see them as two completely separate people; and that's how I like it. Hulk getting bodied by Thanos in the first 10 minutes of Infinity War just makes it seem like the Hulk became nothing but a power scale for the villain of that movie to measure himself with so that the audience is scared of him. I wish the MCU had treated Banner's growth and Hulk's growth as two separate journeys, but of course they went with the boring choice of making Bruce the main focus and making Hulk's existence out to be little more than an inconvenience for Bruce. I mean, for the love of god, the only thing that makes Hulk seem stupid in the comics is that he refers to himself in the 3rd person. He can have FULL and INTELLIGENT conversations with people in the comics, but in the MCU he's basically a 'roided out 5th grader. It's a bit of a moot point but I still wish the Infinity Saga gave us a mature Hulk with a mentality closer to, "I love fighting, but I know who not to beat up." He probably would've given Thanos a run for his money if he knew how to hone and control his rage by that point in the series.
This has gotta be one of the most well-received fight scenes in fiction. I’ve legit never seen anyone hate on it, even those who don’t like the actual film.

I always loved this scene. Throughout the movie Hulk was mostly beastial, and yet in this one fight scene they manage to have him unlock his signature Thunderclap, utter his famous words, AND have his eyes glow green in that one scene. It's a shame they couldn't bring back THIS Hulk and Banner for the Avengers, because I personally liked them better.
Even if they couldn't bring Norton back (Which they couldn't), they could have at least brought the Hulk from it back.
This was the best version of the live action Hulk.. Tbh if they bring back this Hulk in Avengers he will overpower every character in Avengers also will easily defeat Thanos. That's why they created new Version of Hulk and limited his ability and Power. The sad part was they "soften" the Hulk character when they make him to become professor Hulk. 😌👌👌👌

The problem is that Ruffalo Hulk doesn't give a shit about Betty Ross. Never once mentions her.

It's a best version of the Hulk
Really Incredible Hulk 👏
