i rlly love watching jessica chastain in a villainous role, i loved her in crimson peak, her and charlize theron are my favorites with female antagonists
And casting Sophie Turner as Jean Grey was the ABSOLUTE WORST CASTING MOVE they could have made. She brings NOTHING to her character, or to the movie. Even when she's showing 'sadness', she's like an empty shell of a human being. No depth. No 'intangible' qualities like beauty, charm, charisma, sensitivity, sensuality, compassion... She's just a 'blah' character with nothing special about her performance at all. A fully CG character would have conveyed more human charisma than her. What a shame. These X-Men movies could have been SO much better had they cast anyone but Sophie Turner.

This movie was clearly inspired by the comics "Dark Phoenix Saga" from how jean got exposed in space by solar flare but it's clearly the Phoenix force, but they're missing some point and destroyed the actual storyline in the comics. The kinsberg Cut is more realistic and clear depiction unfortunately they'd never release that cut😢. If you guys watched the kinsberg cut plot , the story was completely, if not, more realistic than this film. The last part of that cut was Jean fighting the battleship of the skrull in space, and completely destroyed it less than a 5 second which is actually happened in comics. it's not only world of skrull being destroyed but the entire solar system upon eating their star D'bari. And the last part is Jean never become white Phoenix but instead she allow herself to be killed because she's slowly regaining strength enough to bring destruction of univere. I wish they will release that cut
They changed a lot of it. In the early trailers we saw the Phoenix force have a fiery orange actual Phoenix look. The latest trailers and final cut of the film made the Phoenix force look like purple poop dust for some weird reason. Apparently the ending of the film was too familiar to captain marvel and this was the same time when Disney had all the rights to fox so it had to be changed
She has telekinesis too thats why she was able to hold some of the Phoenix powers, but not all of it since obviously she died in the end when Jean gave her all the Phoenix force. OnlyTelekinetics and Telepaths can contain the Phoenix force, but not all of them can hold it in. It seems only Jean can.
Say what now? Yes Phoenix prefer n attracted to the host that has telepathy, or you can Psionic users..... but that doesn't mean others can't contain it. This is more like who the Phoenix chooses, It selected Jean here so Vuk can't contain it seems its not in favor with her hence reduced to atoms.

Looking back here are a few things that could've made this movie a bit better. Getting rid of the Vux character and make her Emma Frost. I know that she died, but they actually could've brought her back. Before Emma died, she psychically transferred her mind into a new body. Emma enters the school under a false name (real name from the body she stole) as a teacher. Manipulating the team from within. Make Jean believe she wants to help her like before. Then reveal who she is and introducing the Hellfire Club. Make the Phoenix Saga a 2- or 3-part film. First would focus on Phoenix, Hellfire part 2, and then make Dark Phoenix part 3 or combined with part 2
@dylan SW isn't powerful as the phenoix force but she has the power to defeat it and harm it, the phenoix force can't really harm Scarlet Witch tho. Also Jean is only a strong host for the phenoix, not the phenoix itself. Like all host, it's powers were limited bc it wasn't in its original form

Famke Jannsen went from a gorgeous woman to a gorgeous nightmarish monster when turning into the phoenix, I never saw that same intensity in Sansa Starks performance throughout the entire franchise. Maybe it just lacked better make-up as the glowing eyes and veins didn't seem at all terrifying.

Even though this version of Phoenix was heavily criticized, she was still powerful af. She'd definitely give Scarlet Witch a run for her money.

Famke Jannsen went from a gorgeous woman to a gorgeous nightmarish monster when turning into the phoenix, I never saw that same intensity in Sansa Starks performance throughout the entire franchise. Maybe it just lacked better make-up as the glowing eyes and veins didn't seem at all terrifying.

Vuk never was able to absorb Phoenix's power cause Phoenix force could easily leave her in dust and vuk don't have telepathy abilities too so she only tried to absorb it from Jean physically.She never had a strength to deal with Phoenix force's powers.

This movie did a decent job of showing the potential of the phoenix force. Everything else in this movie is bad...
It’s because of Disney 😢they made fox redo the whole movie again and they made it mess up. They also prevented them from redoing dark phoenix’s movie or making a part 2. They also bought fox. The movie was supposed to be spot on with the phoenix saga comics but Disney messed that all the way up

Then she used probability manipulation to manipulate the events of the fight which made her won. One of the known powers wanda has both comics and MCU. Marvel fans need to accept the fact that what happened in the movie, happened. Your expectations dissapoint yourself. It isnt the movie/scene that was dissapointing.
