      Altru, but what's also true is that the woman is lucky to be alive. Attempting to use a weapon on an officer is justification for them to use deadly force - _especially_ when her boyfriend was also attempting to attack her. BFF held considerable restraint in that situation.

      It should be a long time for the Karen: Two counts of battery (on the woman who was supposed to be an employee), one count of child abuse (the broken arm), two counts of assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, damaging property. The Karen’s husband is really in trouble: two counts of Assault on a cop, possible assault/battery on the original woman, child abuse, and he will be deported. Not sure if the kids will have to go (might be academic as both parents will be in jail for several years).

    • @j_g9109
      @j_g9109 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ikr?! The bigoted assumptions of people that believe all people of a certain race/ethnicity/political leaning etc MUST be on welfare and/or multiple children are absolutely moronic.
      In my opinion, “you’re on welfare” shouldn’t be considered a valid insult in the first place. I know a couple people on assistance that have jobs! FULL TIME! One is a black man, one is a white woman, and they’re both responsible, sober single parents of children that were both born while each respective parent was in a stable relationship. When his girlfriend left, it took him a couple years before he needed assistance since he’d been the only source of income in the first place. When her husband left (who had forbidden her from leaving the house and forced her to be an unwilling SAHM to an autistic child he wouldn’t help), she needed emergency assistance right off the bat. They started out of necessity not because it was convenient. They use it because they need it not because they like it. Both are working hard to move “up” (for lack of better words) in life, and I find them both INCREDIBLY admirable. Two of the most hard-working, motivated people I know are both on welfare.
      Are there issues within the system that need to be addressed? *Absolutely!* Are there some people that abuse the system? *Absolutely!* But it is not dependent on race/political leaning/etc. Lazy a-holes that take advantage of assistance/programs offered exist in all the “categories” people create.
      As for the “baby-daddy” insult, that is yet another insult that is ridiculous. Unless a woman is BLATANTLY talking about wanting/liking to have baby daddies, no one can actually *know* a stranger simply by looking at them. It’s uncalled for and flat-out stupid. I’ve also found that many women who accuse/taught others for having “baby daddies” often have at least one themselves, so I always found that a bit amusing.

    • @spvillano

      I've had an abortive exchange like that. I promptly interrupted with, "Listen, you incompetent, myopic, anencephalic arboreal misanthrope, I'll first have you know that my petty cash exceeds your net worth by a factor of at least five and I do quite enjoy ending the prosperity of creatures like you, whom I thought were quite long extinct!". The tirade then degenerates, but all in a fine, clear US Army NCO's command voice.
      I prefer my Karens well seared by my dragon's breath. They quickly scurry off to go assault a machine gun nest or something perceived safer, such as playing with fire in a pool of gasoline in the middle of the freeway during rush hour.
      Away from me being the goal, I'm quite satisfied. Such encounters are rare, as one good glower typically causes them to seek easier game, such as an angry wood chipper.

    The wrong number story brought back a memory from my childhood. Im an ol’ bat now and remember things like party lines and phone numbers that started with a word and then 4 digits. I was around 5 so back in 1964! The phone rings and i answer and i barely get out a hello before a lady starts screaming at me. I tell her she had the wrong number and hang up. The phone rings again , and i answer again. Screams like a banshee came from that old phone so i just hung up. It rang again and this time she was coherent enough to explain her problem. It seem my goats had escaped and were eating her entire garden. Now mind you, we lived in what back then was considered the city of a small town and i had never seen a goat much less owned some. She was screaming out all the names of her flowers as they were consumed to the ground. This had taken up 30 minutes of my play time outside and i could waste anymore time on it. So when she took a deep breath I very politely told her: “Ma’am, thank you for calling to let me know. Just send them home when they are done.” She screamed as I hung up. She didnt call back. My mother came inside to see what was going on and asked me who was that? I told her it was a lady with our goats eating her garden so i told her to send them home when they were done. Then i ask Moma when are we getting the goats? She laugh so hard she almost lost her control of her bladder! One of the few times i think i made her proud of me.🤪‼️ She told that story for years!

Little poor old lady ahead of me at the dollar store didn't even know about the pandemic yet, not a TV or online type I guess. So I gave her half my allotted amount since they were now out. That was literally one day before my state locked down. She wasn't going to be able to get more soon and I knew she was old enough to remember the 1940's. She didn't deserve to do without because of greed. Not after going through the second world war with the hateful greed that caused it. The memory of that lady's look of relief and thankfulness was worth the years of teasing in school for my IBS. I hope you all gathered some good memories too, not just images of the bad in people. Clipboards are crazy attractive to people. One evening many years ago, I was doing a newspaper crossword. On a clipboard because newspapers are floppy. The apartment building fire alarms went off. I put on my shoes and coat, grabbed my purse and puzzle, went outside and sat down on a bench. Very few building residents evacuated. So there I am working on my puzzle when the fire trucks and police showed up. They headed straight to me, to ask what was happening. They thought I was building management. Because of the clipboard. Crazy.

    I freaking lived thru the toilet paper hoarding, I work in retail, my local shopping centre where I work ran out of paper, my work was selling some to cover for those who couldn't get it, mostly elderly or disabled, we were able to get supplies in but thanks to 4 customers giving us abuse from threats to name calling, we stopped, second time toilet paper hoarding started we didn't do it, we even took the rolls we had off shelves to hide out back, if any elderly came to ask we can hand it out, but if anyone who wouldn't struggle finding rolls had to go elsewhere, we were taking abuse for doing our jobs, downside made me feel like shit having the abuse hurled at me, upside my boss allowed me to hurl it back without repercussions, had one customer call me a degenerate for selling the toilet that's the nicest way I could say what he was calling me, I turnt around and called him a dumbass who doesn't know what he's going on about, shamed him in front of everyone by calling him out on him saying we're well pieces of scum for giving toilet paper to elderly people and not him, and he tried to inform my manager who wasn't there that day, asked for my assistant manager, for which I gladly smiled and responded with how may I help you today sir, as Im the assistant manager and those who commonly shop at the local shopping centre I work at know I'm nice and respectful, piss me off and mistreat me, I'll do the same back, get what you give to others.

I have heard the speech and heard huffing and puffing, but no arguing back because they know the police (if they were to be called) will simply give them the option of leaving the store with or without the pretty silver bracelets.

    Here's a novel concept that Karen's SHOULD learn... It's a simple concept really... It's called MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS! It's so simple even a 1st grader can use it. Lol. But then these stories wouldn't exist.

    • @OcusticClear92
      @OcusticClear92 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      May I suggest an even more important concept (and advice for life)? Let go of your Expectations. An Expectation is your Imagination's fabricated Best-Case scenario. It is, indeed, not likely to happen, and therefore, NOT worthy in which to be be believed.
      When an expectation pops into you head, practice Acceptance by saying the following to your Imagination: "That idea is junk and I dismiss it. I'm going to breathe . . . And accept the present moment."
      Next, notice what is around you and ASK for help. Live by this: "Ask and you may receive. But demand and you get nothing."

    I sympathize with OP. I was working for the Purple Heart, and got an Indian lady for a donation. I made a note that she had to have her donation picked up early. On the pick up day, she was calling every twenty minutes, starting at 7:30 a.m. It was worse when I had to shower, go to the bathroom, eat, brush my teeth, etc. I turned in a few other job applications that day, and she was still calling! My mom finally threatened to call the police if she called again. I spent the entire day trying not to have a full blown anxiety attack that day.

    Just before the pandemic, my landlord decided to sell the house we were renting from him. The Sale went through just as the Pandemic was starting and we ended up homeless. We had a small RV for two of your younger teens and pets, and a tent for my husband, me and the oldest kid (and my dog that doesn't leave my side, she alerts me if my blood sugar gets too low, as I tend to not pay attention to it. Hypoglycemia is something I have had since I was like 7 and was taught to ignore it. Ignore the symptoms of something for 30+ years and you will need a constant reminder that its snack time, I guess). Anyhow, So since we were parked on my in-law's driveway, more of less, and using their bathroom, we bought a huge thing of cottonell... Think the 40+ triple rolls. This should of lasted at least 3 weeks. In literally 1 day it was gone. Now the In-laws do drugs and have questionable people coming and going at all hours My FIl, who doesn't go to the store (nor did his druggy friends for that matter), was like, oh stop being dramatic, just buy more. We tried our best to explain, there was no more, we were damn lucky to get the pack we had. They act like we are over exaggerating for the sake of starting drama. So, I had kept like 4 rolls in the tent, cause allergies and blowing noses... We instructed the kids to just take what they think they needd and leave the rest in the tent. So, FIL comes out to borrow scissors and made a comment about cutting up some old shirts. At first I thought nothing of it. A week past of my kids wondering WTF grandpa is doing about the bathroom cause, no tp. Well the bathrooms start backing up and immediately we are blaimed. This is when we find out they are on a septic tank, and have never once in the year they lived there did any maintenance on it. The landlord has a guy out to pump the tank, finds the clog, its tampons and pieces of t-shirts. Not only were they using shirts but they flushed them. Diaper wipes will f up your pipes, imagine what clothing does. Now the really sad part, all that tp was in his closet and could of been used, but you see it was a great quality to use to roll up meth-laced pot in... Believe me this is the tip of the iceberg of things we got blamed for and abuse we were put through. But we bought a house in another state and we are fine now.

    Story 1: OP definitely screwed poor Lucy over. He never explained to Bill that he wasn't talking to Lucy and just doubled down on his demands. Now, I admit that's funny as hell. But Lucy might be fired.
    Story 3: Crazy Lady is extremely lucky. If I were armed and she assaulted my daughter she would be dead. That's why I don't carry a firearm. It takes a special kind of person to wield that kind of authority. I wouldn't trust myself with a gun.
    Story 4: Not only do OP and his co-workers have what they need for a party, they also have an awesome story to go along with it. Also, I can attest to what OP described as "command voice." I spent ten years as an officer in the US Army. Sometimes I had to address as many as 300 people without a PA system, so I learned to project. In more intimate situations when I didn't need to be loud, I used a similar type of projection that makes my voice sound like the most important one in the room. It was a terrific skill to have. Unfortunately, I was badly injured in a car accident in 2018 and I no longer have that kind of control over my voice. I miss it.

    Circa about 1975. I get several wrong number calls for a caterer. Every time it's the same girl and every time I tell her, sorry. You have the wrong number! After 3 days of this I give up. The girl that's calling is a little frantic, because she hasn't been able to speak with anybody at the caterers and wants to confirm her catering order for her wedding that weekend. So I graciously confirmed it. Ive always wondered if she had any food at her wedding?

    The Karen who broke that child's arm is lucky to be alive. Trying to use a weapon against an officer (the jar in this case) gives justification for officers to open fire - _especially_ since the Karen's BF was also physically involved. BFF held _considerable_ restraint there and should be commended.
