3:43 : If you would have checked the sign at the beginning, you would have learned that it's not a "pick a door" level. You have to listen to the doors and figure out where the big boo laugh is coming from. It's a very cool gimmick in my opinion.

That was a very neat course, honestly. These Portrait ones all feel pretty different from each other, and that's really nice! Gomboss' is shaped like a typical sandbox level, King Boo's is that find-your-way maze level that's also pretty neat, and Chief Chilly's was basically an icy gauntlet that I really enjoyed plowing through!

I was literally playing “frosty slide for 8 red coins” when this popped up
I actually thought Goomboss battle had by far the best and most unique red coins star in the game. It required all 3 of the main human characters using their special abilities, as well as precision and timely jumps here and there, making it challenging but not so hard that it’s annoying.
I agree, its one of my fav stars in the game

The fact that Yoshi is locked out of Big Boo's Haunt brings that level down drastically...
The reason Yoshi is gatekept from BBH is so you're forced to unlock Luigi with Mario

You're supposed to listen to big boo's sound in the background, depending on where you stand, the sound will come from the left or the right (or both), indicating where the right door is. I think it's really creative, but also not really because a lot of people didn't actually noticed that and you have to turn the sound of your ds on (which you won't do if you play on the go)

i'd even go to say more memorable since it doesn't really overstay its welcome and it doesn't feel like a chore to get all 7 stars since most of them are close together or easily gotten

Hazey Maze Cave is the best. It felt so clunky to navigate compared to the other stages and was actually fun because you didn’t just have to walk on a straight path
It’s my 2nd favorite level
I could never find my way to the lake 😅 but that's probably because I kept ignoring the signs. Oh and the music is the best ❤

Not to mention that in Wet Dry World, depending at what level you jump into the painting, it affects what the water level will be at the start of if. If you jump at the highest point possible into the painting, it will start the level with the highest level of water, so high in fact that the switches in the level can't even make the water go that high at all. Only jumping through the painting at that height does it. And if you wanna start the level with no water, just jump in at the very bottom of the painting. I think Wet Dry World gets more scrutiny than it deserves.
It's one of my favourite stages. The water is cool and it has the best song in the game

@DarkCoreX If you're getting the stars, there's no issue as getting the star will force you to leave.
If you're not getting the stars, not being able to leave isn't an issue because you have no reason to go in to begin with

I'd kinda call it poorly.
No it's poorly mainly because the game was not designed for only 8 directions, it was designed for 360 directions.
In my language, wet-dry world has a clever name, "Bagnasciuga", which is also the point where waves at the beach crash and go back in the sea. And considering the fact that you are free to control the height of the water, it fits really well

And I also hope they would give players the option to play the original SM64 story and the DS one.

There should also be an arcade room in the castle, which is blocked off by black bricks and has the Waluigi Pinball machine inside. And in the Waluigi Pinball machine is the level the boss is in.

Aside from the sitting and waiting, I actually really like Rainbow Ride...just me? And personally, my favourite stage is Tall Tall Mountain because of how amazing it looks and how fun the stage is to just run around in! I’ve spent a lot of time before just roaming around and climbing the mountain. And the slide is amazing!!

Yeah in my language the title of the star is Destroy the wall instead of blast away, which removed the hint that you should use the cannon, so it was even harder to find

3:53 Um, no, it's a game of listening to where King Boo's laughter is coming from. Unless you have Mono Sound on, you should be able to tell which speaker or headphone the audio comes from. If you're not sure is the voice clips comes from either side or in front of you, just turn the camera around 90° and listening again.

Before watching this I would just like to say that the level where you unlock Mario is the best in my opinion there’s so much around, there way to speed run

The one problem is, Nathaniel didn't quite make it clear that in this version of the game, all the power flowers (not caps) are unlocked at the tower, where in the original n64 game it unlocked only the wing cap. Otherwise, pretty good video.

Despite bomb omb battle field not being my favorite...I can completely understand and agree with its placement...its the first level you go into to start this amazing journey and by God the music is so memorable im sure ANY mario fan could identify it if you asked. It just has that feeling of nostalgia these days that its hard to NOT think of it when the game comes to mind!
I like the controls in the DS version better than in the N64 version.
Also most of favourite levels are at the bottom of the list. Like hazy maze cave, or shifting sand land.

One of the reasons why I love Wet dry World is, that it takes evey kind of movement and combines them in the right amount. Like Tall Tall Mountain and Bob omb Battlefield are too much walking, Tik Tok Clock is too much jumping and Dire Dire Docks as well as Jolly Roger Bay is too much swimming.

Here's a tip: In the King Boo boss fight, the door orders you use are left, right, left, right or the other way around.
Enter the doors in that order to face King Boo and unlock your boi Luigi!

I love the pixelated aspect of this game
Remember the perfect long jump in Tick Tock Clock?
The Dire Dire Docks remix is pretty sick and all the others as well
The biggest issue in Tick Tock Clock was not the lack of flooring IMO. It was the fact that you pretty much had to go through the same platforming sections over and over to get anywhere every time you entered the level, which is why linear stages are kind of annoying in this game. Tall Tall Mountain used an owl to solve the issue.
Still not as bad as the carpets in Rainbow Ride though.
And the worse thing about Hazy Maze Cave in the DS version?
IN THE ORIGINAL N64 VERSION THE GAS DIDN'T STUN YOU
FOR SOME REASON THEY MADE IT STUN IN THE DS WHICH MEANS YOU DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME TO MOVE BEFORE YOU GET STUNNED AND HURT AGAIN
