There is a TAS that exists that beats Mario 1, Lost Levels, 2 and 3 with the same inputs at the same time. Doing it in real time tho would be a massive challenge

I'd really like to see someone do a 100% TAS of this challenge without the requirement to collect the stars close to each other. It would be really interesting especially considering how absurdly broken both games are
You just reminded me that there's a TAS somewhere that beats smb1, 2, 3 and world with the same inputs. Watching it is so disorienting, it's basically what happens when TASbot takes up juggling. So the concept has been done before, I'd also love to see a mario 64 version, maybe you could even throw Sunshine into the mix just for laughs.

Yeah! I would love a remake of Mario 64 DS on the Switch especially considering all the additional content it includes
For me, I like the N64 SM64 Style. The yellow grass on bob-omb battlefield really got to me. It's also just that I'm used to seeing the N64 version after watching so many people play that version.

@@Apanblod Bro it was hard for me to go play SM64 on Switch. I thought it had not aged well. I feel like the DS one looks a lot more pleasant tried it again recent-ish. There are certain small things I prefer about the 64 but I like DS better
I think the character models look way better on DS, but I think it looks to washed out compared to the N64.

I was interested to see this, since nearly every aspect of the physics was completely changed for 64DS. And it certainly was interesting. It's a pretty cool idea.
It seems like the difference in speed and acceleration between the two games presented a lot of difficulty. If you need to make small movements, N64 Mario's quick acceleration means he moves too much, but over longer distances DS Mario's higher top speed means he gets left behind.
Its pretty cool seeing both games side by side to see the change in textures

@@yamiryushi Never an easy thing, but actually making the decision to abstain is one of the bigger hurdles to overcome, and 20 days ago he announced he was 2 months sober, so I think he's on a good path so far. Here's to him getting to month 3 sober soon.

I think the people behind Twitch Plays Pokémon did the same thing. I think it might’ve been Sapphire and LeafGreen? Correct me if I’m wrong. I only saw a little bit. It would be way more challenging, of course, because not only would a player have to contend with RNG, but also all the other players inputting their own commands.

I love how after Nathaniel realized that he needed 80 stars to beat Mario 64 DS, he basically said *”I’M TIRED OF THIS BULLSHIT”* and just clipped into Bowser in the Sky on DS lol

Well that's nice. Seriously my biggest problem with DS is how you have to hold down a run button now for no reason. You're supposed to get cramps in Mario kart, not 64!
Would have been better if the run button had an option as a toggle to tap instead of holding, like in Minecraft.

I think I've considered this concept twice so far and didn't keep up with it for one reason or another. But it's something I think about a lot.
