    The reason for the king bob-bomb fight being different btw is cause you're supposed to have to fight him with Yoshi, who can't pick him up like mario could in N64. He makes a point about how only characters with "well trimmed mustaches like his own" or whatever have the upper-body strength to do that, which is a pretty hilarious way of conveying the idea that yoshi fights with his tongue instead of his fists.

Which might actually be possible with a bigger ROM size, maybe the expansion pack, and someone like Kaze Emmanuar (assuming the mad lad hasn't done something like that already). Especially now that we have the decompilation.
    64 has Superior controls, evidenced by how many concessions in difficulty they had to make in DS because of the artificial difficulty caused by bad controls. You going on about how bad the controls are brought back vivid but short memories of why i never got very far into the game, despite having spent many hours on the N64 one.

  • @Pyco_
    @Pyco_ 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    In defense of the controls, the original DS came with a thumb strap that worked like a stylus and made movement much better. Later models of DS didn’t have it.

    I was literally able to 100% this version as a kid yet I, as an adult, struggled but succeeded 100%ing the original, so yeah, original is definitely tougher, but I like all the new stuff in the ds version.

    Best way to play this version is in a 3Ds, since you use the stick instead of the D-pad.
    You have more access to any direction

    Why does every single Mario 64 speed Runner react the same way to Mario 64 ds

  • @SuperNickid
    @SuperNickid 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @Linkus7: The problem with speed running this game blind, his you will not know the diffrent glitch to used that make it equivalent to the same skip, also the tall tall moutain mysterious moutain side skip still work as luigi, despite the cage, the power-up is all the way to the top of the mountain you can used the owl in a tree in the buttom of the mountain as a short-cut to the top of the mountain, grab the power flower as luigi fall down the mountain above the cage, and you will have time to go through the fence. First Bowser, and 2nd Bowser you don't have to play them as Mario only Mario is needed to unseal the door, only the last Bowser the infinite stair will only be broken if it is mario+ 80 stars, their is a diffrent glitch that will allowed you to defeat the finial Bowser as a different character, the glitch is before you enter the finial door, you can slide kick on a staires and get fling upward out of bounce, so you just have to gide your character to the entrance to the finial bowser, If you defeat Bowser as a diffrent character that is not mario, your character dies in the credit.

    The ds version was the version I played. I love the extra content tbh so I can only ever find myself playing this version. The only things I hated about this was the limited mobility and graphics although emulators usually have settings to improve the game making it look better than mario 64 for the Nintendo 64

    I'll always see this as the superior version of Mario64. It looks a lot less dated and Nintendo seemed to have learned a lot about level design since the original. I wish they would re-release this with fixed controls...
