    Thank you for your detailed review of the momentum 3, eta for mine, about 3 days 👍😀

      This is awesome! Let me know about your reaction.
      I’m now testing out the next tier down in the line, the HD450 BT, and it’s making me reconsider the Momentum 3’s some.

    Great review! I have the momentum 2 and wear them around 5 days a week and sometimes for 3-5 hours in a row. I find them to be very comfortable. The earcups are smaller than the M3. I’ll be receiving the momentum 3 today and I’m expecting them to be even more comfortable than the M2.

      Awesome! I hope you like them! For comfort, I ended up just getting some cloth ear pad covers and a headband cover. Comfort issues solved, and the Momentum 3 are absolutely fantastic to listen to. Great choice! Keep enjoying them!

    You can keep them turned off and open. Just hold the main "play" button for longer and they will turn off. The message for battery status comes first and than they turn off. 👍

      And one more thing, a suggestion. I've noticed the pain where the headband presses on the head. But, after i stretched the cups a bit and than positioned cups so my ears are in the middle (with a bit more room between headband and my head) everything improved and no more pain was present since than. Cups hold to the head good enough and than the comfort is fine. 👍
      Nice review, keep it up. 🖐️

    Thanks so much for the great review.
    It doesn't seem to be widely known that the Momentum 3's can be powered off without folding them up. Hold down the "play/pause" button for 5 seconds or so. You will hear "Power Off" as confirmation. To power back on, you will need to fold up the headphones and then open them back up. Works great and is useful for those that want to put these on a regular stand.

      You’re absolutely correct. Another commenter also pointed this out, and I’ve just recently learned how to edit videos uploaded to TH-cam. I’ll see if I can remove that bit of bad info.
      I should probably do a retrospective on the Momentum 3, though: after adding ear and headband covers, I’ve come to absolutely adore them. I still prefer my Bang & Olufsen H9 over the Sennheiser, but that’s strictly personal preference. The Momentum 3 are, by and in large, fantastic.

    Love your style. I’ve watched a ton of reviews on this headset and it’s a relief to find a reviewer who doesn’t just pump their video full of cheesy edits and LEDs. I’d take a cabinet full of books any day
    And how would you compare the sound quality on these to the Sony XM3’s? I own a pair of XM3’s at the moment. If they’re an 8/10 in overall sound quality, would you say the Momentums are a 10 in comparison?

    • @NorbReviews
      @NorbReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks. When it comes to the visual style, I’m still trying to find my voice, so you’ll see distinct shifts in later videos. (Feedback is ALWAYS welcome.) Sometimes they work, sometimes not. However, you’ll be happy to know that the books stay. I’m an unabashed bibliophile. (Glad to hear someone likes them!)
      As for sound, I can’t compare to the XM3’s. I have tried them yet. Comparing these to the XM4’s, however, I find these are better overall: better instrument separation and clarity, and when tweaked, spectacular rumbling bass. Ultimately, though, Sony and Sennheiser have a VERY different sound signature.
      The default tuning is WAY different in both, with the Sennheisers being better for acoustic music and the XM4’s better for pop, though I’d say the Sennheisers are better overall. Both headphones have apps that provide some level of EQ. The XM4’s have more fine tuning, and because of that, you can do some with the sound. (I did a review on the XM4’s. In the section about sound (I think), I show the EQ settings I use which provide a really solid sound across the board.)
      On the whole, side to side and using your 8/10 standard, yeah, I’d put these at a 10/10 vs the XM4’s, but that depends heavily on the kind of music you listen to.
      The other biggest issue is watch out for with these is comfort: the Sony headphones are WAY more comfortable for me, but again, that’s very much a personal choice.
      Let me know if I can help with anything else. I’m always very happy to help where I can. If you’re feeling out other options, let me know your budget and I’m more than happy to offer recommendations.

    You can turn them off without folding them. It was NOT possible when they came out but this solved with an update a while back.
    I took the text below directly from Sennheiser...
    "How can I turn off the headphones without folding them?
    When the headphones are on press and hold the multi-function button for 6 seconds. The headphones are switched off."

      Thanks for the heads up and for keeping me honest! Another viewer pointed te same thing out, and I was planning to add a new video where I addressed this and other updates.

    Review was good until you said for similar sound buy the pcx 550-ii, YOU NEVER HEARD THE SOUND VIA USB-C DID YOU?

    • @NorbReviews
      @NorbReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Speaker tuning in both retains a similar sound profile, with an emphasis on flatter response for the vast majority of situations. This as opposed to, say, the default running of a Sony XM4. This is what I was referring to.

      @@NorbReviews Right though the sound in the Momentus is vastly superior to the PCX. Either way good review..

    • @NorbReviews
      @NorbReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Shmaya zuggot - Thanks. And I agree, the only reason to choose the PXC over the Momentum 3 is if you need headphones mostly for travel, or you just find the PCX more comfortable. (My wife claimed my PXC headphones as her own precisely for that reason. They’re her favorite mainly due to comfort.) Oh, and cost: the PXC sells now for about the price of the 450BT, but has better sound.

    tried it in store, best tuning, seperation, soundstage...etc trash anc and heavy as fuck . better ocntinue with my xm4s wiht bleeding all over the place but light as fuck, best anc.

      So, how I ended up solving the weight problem with the Momentum3 was by using a headband cover with it. (This is the one I got: amzn.to/3zvFAEE .) That made using them WAY more comfortable. Also, these ear coverings helped: amzn.to/3ynPPtq. Can’t do anything about the ANC, though: even after all this time (and I still own these, by the way), I’m not a fan.
      As for the XM4, the weight and comfort are huge, that’s true. But what do you mean bleeding all over the place? Sound? I haven’t experienced much of this, but I tend to use them in either relatively loud environments (like planes) or in places where I won’t be working with a lot of people around me.
      If cost isn’t an issue, and you use Apple products, check out the AirPods max: the tuning and separation are on par with the Momentum3 and the noise canceling beats the XM4. But, you know, pricey AF, doesn’t have the cable included, and it’s not good outside of Apple devices.
