Not gonna lie, I just need a break from the SLRs, the Fedorov Avtomat practically lets me use an S Tier version of a weapon class I would rather be using.
@@professormemsclass imagine chilling in your trench, you haven't eaten anything for 5 days, you're stuck with a rickety bolt-action which barely functions because it's constantly getting muck stuck in it and then a dude with infinite stamina and regenerative health sprints towards your position with a weapon that pretty much operates like a modern automatic weapon
The Fedorov-Avtomat is actually one of the more historically accurate medic weapons. It actually saw some limited use by the Russians, and continued to be used during the Russian Revolution.
Yeah, I use the optical to not feel SUPER cheap, but being a medic usually is closer quarters, and with all the 10A hunters, SMG08s, and Parabellum LMGs I deal with, I think I earned a easier break. But my personal fav is the Cei Rigotti for all round, its balanced, the range, kick, and selective fire suits my approach.
@@professormemsclass nah perfect timing as I gave up and went to my home page this video was the first one in my face like a true hero ps: a great video btw keep it up
Because in BF, people like to gravitate towards stuff that gives easy kills. Because the General Liu takes some modicum of skill, people tend not to use it
I've grinded out almost every single primary weapon assignment in the game except the C93 Carbine and getting the Selbstlader 1906 Sniper was the hardest by far, I just do not like that gun at all lol
Today i saw this video and didn't know that the liu can become a bolt action, so I grinded it and gave it a shot. New favourite gun so far (I main sniper with infantry variants that hold 30 rounds in total, so seeing a bolty with 70 rounds was insane)
Being a nerd, the RSC and Mondragon are my favorites. The RSC because it saw the most actual combat and use out of all the medic guns, so it’s the most historically accurate, and the Mondragon because although it was mainly used by German pilots, it was produced and used in high enough numbers that it wouldn’t be too far fetched to be seen in the hands of a German soldier.
I remember on launch it was considered "The" Sniper variant because a lot of the guns that filter into the higher tiers were added in DLCs. I don't think the Mondragon was a launch gun, and might have been added later, but don't quote me on that. However, since most people getting into BF1 are probably doing so via the Revolution Edition which contains all the DLCs, that makes sense they would all be treated on equal footing.
@@richardgeiberger925 I think I got it mixed up with the Selbstlader 1905. Looking back, I definitively remember a lot of "What's the point of this gun?" type posts because the 1905 is the Medic level 10 gun.
I respectfully disagree. While it’s painful to unlock, I think the 1906 sniper variant is way better than the factory. It’s like a more accurate and powerful auto loading marksman IMO
Getting the 300 kills for the S 1906 sniper is indeed a pain, however, once you do, oh are you rewarded. A little advice would be to avoid close range as the 1906 is 100% a long-range medic rifle
@@Ghost88320 I will also add for those who use a controller in the crowd that long range is better with a mouse. I found in my use of the Selb 06 that midrange is better on a controller. The aim assist allows you to get away with being closer until you get the sniper variant. I like to use the Selb as a sort of Overwatch role similar to an aggressive sniper but closer and heavier on the aggressive. I agree, up close and personal is a death sentence due to limited ammo and the shot spread from the hip, but if you’re on Fort Devaux, for instance, and you’re at the back shooting down a hallway it performs well. Same goes for shooting down streets in clusters of buildings. TLDR: Use the Selb as an Overwatch rifle in tight quarters (especially if you’re on a controller) stay towards the back of the line and you can cover the distances that are too short for bolt actions and too long for SMGs and shotguns. Of course an LMG will also cover this role so it’s not exactly practical long term but it does make grinding out the 3 service stars more bearable for the sniper variant.
I can broadly agree with this, honestly. I think I would put the Cei Rigotti a bit higher, but other than that, solid list. Although honestly, I find it strange that they gave Medic… mid-long range weapons. A class meant to be close to the fight in order to actually heal and revive people. It just seems counterintuitive. I can’t wait to see your review of support weapons. I’m incredibly excited to hear what you say about the Burton LMR… just… don’t use the optical variant. It’s literally useless. The accuracy is literally one point higher IIRC, and all it’s spread stats otherwise remain the same.
I keep coming back to the cei rigotti no matter what else i use.Sadly he did not notice that the factory version is the most accurate.(i can kill snipers with it)
I think they should have given the Medic class pistols. The sidearms in BF1 are powerful enough to be primary weapons, and could always be buffed slightly if that were the case. Plus, it would be logical both in terms of gameplay and historical accuracy.
The probably didn’t want to give the class with healing melee grinders weapons like in bf4 were ar were the best gun type on a class with healing. Assault is still strong in this game but at least the guns affective range is caped for most of its options
@@ExtantPerson Especially considering there are already a lot of really interesting carbine versions of the sidearms given to the Tanker class in game that could have easily been used by the Medic.
I myself unlocked the Federov Degtyarev and you're honestly not missing out on much. The recoil is minimal but it has even more spread than either of the variants. The bipod doesn't mitigate this issue and successful use of it past 50 meters is non-existent. I was honestly hoping for Ribeyrolles bipod performance but it struggles just to get by.
As someone who took the time to unlock the Selbstlader 1906 Sniper, I can say it was a journey. I don’t even use the sniper variant, just wanted it for completion. I mainly prefer playing more aggressively as Medic. Not to hunt for kills, but to revive my team. The Cei-Rigotti and the M1907 SL were my first weapons with Service Stars on them, and especially the Cei-Rigotti is just so satisfying to use. Anyways, great list, and great video as always, keep it up :3
4:20 dude you cannot just drop a joke like that, you made me laugh so hard I woke up my neighbors and they got pissed off and knocked at the wall real hard
It is pretty unwieldy and awkward, I think if you reloaded with 1 shot left and it just got popped out it would help the Luger immensely. And the sniper varient IS really good, but its a task. But it was easier of a grind then getting the Martini Henry sniper unlocked I can say that much. Ooof. I don't care for sniping.
@@leonsjacketre4 I'm honestly not sure that would be possible with that action but then again the gun itself is a prototype that I believe was luger's last project before his death
@@raptonsoul2557 I don't see why not. If theres one round left, your character can just pull the lever back to release the last round and put a new clip in. With the General Liu you see this happen.
Farquhar optical is my favorite gun in the whole game, with the little dot reticle it just feels very accurate like a laser beam mid to longer ranges. No other weapon has the same feel
Every time I watch these it feels like I am being slowly brainwashed into buying Battlefield 1 for my PC to relive the glory days of Battlefield 1 on my Xbox. Keep it up!
Have you tried out the Farquar Optical? It fixes many of the visibility issues you have and is generally considered one of the best SLRs in this game for its consistency and high mag size
Commenting twice because i can and boosts the algorithm anyway. The Cei-Rigotti is my favorite medic rifle, i use it semi auto but always toggle the full auto fire in case i need max rpm. The sights, the sound and the slightly impractical reload make me love it (and yes i have a soft spot for it and the 5 rounders for some reason) Selbstlader 1916: 26 rounds and 3 shot to kill at any range, lets you mow down 8 people theoretically with one mag and is magazine fed, it’s the strongest on paper but it’s so damn inaccurate. Bullets go wherever they feel like and the gun is bouncy, definitely not my favorite. Bonus points for the receiver shape and the lever action magazine release. Definitely got a glow up in V. 1907 SL: wasn’t a fan of it due to the Sweeper variant, but i came to like the trench variant. More controllable and has the bonus hipfire spread which suits the gun’s playstyle well. The rechamber method is unique and i much prefer the bf1 to the V one because in 1 it looks like it has a strong spring pushing it back, while on V it almost looks loose. Mondragon: probably my least favorite. Accurate but the playstyle behind it is too slow for my taste, and to me it always felt like an accurate Cei-Rigotti with a faster reload. Autoloading 8: the .35 variant is not optimal, though it’s the fastest killing medic gun, but as mentioned before i have a soft stop for the 5 rounders and this one is my favorite out of the two because it fits my combat medic fantasy the most: prioritize heals and revives and use the gun when needed, shoot til empty, reload and so on, not optimal but fun. The .25 to me is the 1907 but better. Better looks, better reload (bonus point for the secret reload) and lower recoil meaning it’s easier to use and spam fire. 1906 the biggest Luger, definitely one of the weakest but the most accurate too. Great irons, cool reload and almost no deviation. And again, it’s a 5 rounder so it’s impractical and cool because of it. RSC18: strong, a nightmare to face in hardcore, clunky but chunky. It’s an en bloc clip so reloads fast despite the low capacity. It’s like they took the Moneragon and made more fun to use. Fedorov Avtomat: probably the one that compliments the class the most, an LMG for the medic class which allows medics to be in the action and be more efficient in healing and reviving. The sound is satisfying and despite the low damage is definitely the most forgiving rifle in the class. The Degryarov variant leans more in the LMG role with the bipod and better iron sights, though it has crap accuracy. General-Liu: started as a round of the mill long range semi auto but got updated with its unique bolt/semi auto hybrid. If the Fedorov was the medic LMG this is the scout for medics and definitely is as fun as one despite being less accurate (firing faster in return). Farquahr-Hill: drum mag? Hell yes. Generous rate of fire, unique looks and and endearingly clumsy iron sight. Love this fella, the firing sound is also great. Howell: i have a soft spot for it because when i was doing possible variants for the base 4 guns, the Howell was the “SMLE Experimental” so when they added it i was really happy. The sights are also endearingly weird though unfortunately not good, it has the quirk of being the only slr with AA sights. Though it has Selb 1916 levels of accuracy which makes me not consider picking it up that often.
I love your videos, man! This is exactly the kind of Battlefield content I've always wanted to watch. I've been watching your videos for a few months now, and I don't think there's any other channel quite like yours.
I mained medic and for the longest time I couldn't find a gun I liked. Then I unlocked the RSC 1917, and I thought it was the best gun ever, especially since I barely encountered people using it. It and the Ribeyrolles were the only guns I have ever gotten a service star for.
Federov avtomat is an interesting weapon in reality. Was supposed to become a common infantry rifle for the russian empire then later soviets but suffered reliability and production shortfalls, and due to using 6.5mm arisaka was eventually cancelled in the 1920's. The ~3,200 that were made saw service in 1917 and were reissued during the winter war in the 1930's where they were all lost. Was one of only 3 automatic rifles at the time it was made.
They somewhat ruined the 1906 Factory in the TTK 2.0 Update, as it is no longer a 'Factory' variant, something which was amazing on a 300RPM 3BTK. For this reason, I have around 90 stars on this weapon, most of which were pre-update. The sniper variant is infinitely more powerful and is probably the best counter sniper medic rifle.
I remember having 10+ stars with the 1906 on PS4 before putting the game down for a while. When I picked it back up on Xbox It didn’t quite feel like the gun I fell in love with. This might explain it.
Cool fact about the Autoloading 8, AKA the Remington Model 8. Mikhail Kalashnikov said that the safety switch on the Model 8 is what inspired the iconic AK selector lever. If you compare them, you can clearly see the similarity in both form and function.
I really wish they hadn't stuck to the 3 shot rule for all of the base game rifles. It particularly bothers me with the .35 Model 8, a gun that's very near and dear to my heart. They could have easily made it the short range brush gun that it is irl by making it a 2 shot kill at close range.
The autoloading8.35 marskman variant is probably my favourite. I see a lot the sawed off shotgun in it, with quick actions followed by a fast recharge, I love the rhythm this playstyle give to the game. Plus, with the autoloading I can make it ranged. Wonderful.
The Selbstlader 1906, in my opinion, is a fun gun to play with. I love the risk reward factor you get with it, and how much skill and brainplay you need to manage your reloads and shots. You might not like it, and I respect that, and I can see why but after the game's lifecycle is over and I've pretty much finished everything I just want a challenge and this rifle offers that. Great tierlist as usual professor 🌙💜
For medic class, I main Federov and Farquar. Interesting to see they are at opposite end of the list. I usually take Farquar in less populated gamemodes and/or big maps. For mid-range 1v1s, Farquar feels just right with its reliable recoil.
I'll advocate that the 1906 sniper variant was annoying as hell to get, but it makes the recoil and toggle lock issue be removed entirely. Its odd however, as since the velocity and damage stats are the same as the mondragon sniper, there's little reason to use it other then its for supposed accuracy. From what I've read, people that like the 1906 praise that tight accuracy, and I guess if you want the assurance that random bullet deviation won't fuck you over, there's that at a higher range? Puzzling.
I've played since release on PC, and have used the Auto Loading 8.35 Marksman since almost day 1. I'm over 20,000 kills with it. It's a fun gun to use compared to the high mag SLR's that aren't accurate. I love killing SMG 08 sweats up close with it, and I can take out snipers at range before they notice me. If you practice with it, it can be a monster. To me, it's an S tier weapon regarding the whole game
Personally I think the reason they made the automatic fully automatic was because of the existence of the OVP which essentially they got two different companies to do essentially the same thing Beretta made the Beretta 1918 which was only semi automatic, and another company made the OVP, which had a dual trigger set up, which one trigger was fully automatic, and the other was semi. This feature would be carried on into other Italian SMG‘s, but the OVP did have an incredibly high fire rate. Ian over at forgotten weapons has a video or 2 on the OVP
Probably would've been nice to just have the Automatico outright replaced with the OVP, and we could even see a representation of it's charging method.
Imo the Selb 1906 shine the most when you spam it. Lots of visual recoil, but not that much actual recoil. You just aim at the target and click as fast as you can. Anyone in your sight will melt. Have faith in the gun, and it will guide you to that fast kill.
I’m sorry but putting the smg-08 in d tier and then putting the federov in s tier makes no sense. The federov is an assault rifle on a class that can revive and heal themselves in a game where assault rifles don’t exist… they’re easily the only 2 guns in their class and they’ve got a 4 tier disparity. Vibes wise tho I’d agree just not balancing wise.
Based Tier list, but I am a Selbstlader 1906 buff maniac. I literally got my best plays with it on small CQC maps and like 40 to 2 k/ds. Pair it with the Taschenpistole 1914 and you are a cqc maniac that can tackle 2-3 enemies at once with a reloading pause in-between. First I hated it but then come to love it.
You CAN get the BFV preorder guns tho, just have to get EA Pro subscription and add BFV to your EA library to get em, sadly once it ends you can’t use them anymore
I have the Selbstlader 1906 Sniper, it is more like a long-range DMR, it is very precise and the reload doesn't matter as much because you use it from afar, I think I put it in C or low tier of B.
Medic with the healing pouches, the Fedorov Avtomat and the Auto Revolver is the most ridiculously versatile class in the game I swear to god, just a DM machine.
Farquar hill is only useable on optical variant and using it needs you to keep the 2 important rules of medic weapons 1. Do not spam rather spam 2_3 bullet then do it again or just tap fire 2. Be stationery Farquhar hill out of all of the medic weapons punishes you the most if you broke those rules
as a medic main I agree with this video but also I swear to sweet god if one more guy skips a revive when they can clearly see my name making a b-line to them through gunfire just for them to skip I might murder somebody irl yes I am one of the few medics who actively seeks dead players and will ignore all dangers to save them XD
Nice video as always! The only thing I disagree with is the ranking of the Selbstlader 1906. To me its my favorite medic gun because it reminds me of a Jakob's weapon from Borderlands. High Risk, High RoF, High Reward, Low Magazine. Also I have heard that the French did modify their M1907 rifles to be full-auto, although I still haven't seen any concrete evidence of it.
Yeah that's how the legend mostly goes, French had extended magazines and either modified to full auto M1907s or got them select fire from a producer. However, even the extended magazines are doubtful or one-off home gunsmithing modifications (post WWI on top of that) and the full auto 1907s seem to stem from a misunderstanding of a shipment of M1907 rifles labeled "auto rifles" which was just another name for any autoloading rifle back in the day... at least that's how I understand it.
When I started as a solo player in Battlefield 1, mained the hell out of scout, and pretty much only used the Lebel, Vetterli-Vitali and Carcano, with the Frommer Stop secondary. Then when some of my friends picked up the game, I gravitated over towards playing more Medic and had a full on character arc. I've enjoyed every Medic weapon except the Farquhar-Hill. Everything else is so much fun though.
You've quickly become one of my favorite TH-camrs. Such a great balance of wit, convincing arguments, concise editing and authentic personal analysis. Keep up the good work!
The Luger 1906 rifle is the only medic dmr I use. I just can’t help it, love dogging on people with an underdog weapon (much like me with the c93 carbine lol)
Gotta say Mem. I actually think a lot of your observations are based. As someone who uses the Selb 06 as a primary the reload time is annoying as hell. The only reason I use it is because I’m biased to the toggle lock style of the Luger and I’m stubborn enough to grind out the 3 service stars to get the ever elusive sniper variant. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea and I respect that especially since I know I’m just an obstinate SOB. I also think playing on controller makes the Selb 06 more workable at close range with the sights thanks to aim assist and the nature of trying to aim with a controller. Aside from that I fully agree on the Federov and Howell. I especially love the Howell because it inspires me for DND work where one of the characters is a backyard engineer who would make something like this (funnily enough as a better alternative to the Selb 06 style rifle he would have been issued on his entry into the Army 😂). But either way at the end of the day I think you make good points with your observations and above all, even if I don’t agree, your commentary is just plan fun to listen to, hands down. S-tier on these tier lists. Looking forward to the next video and hella excited for the scout class video as that’s my main class.
@@professormemsclass Of course. Also I do want to say I agree for the RSC. That thing is godly. I don’t use it too often though because as a scout primary I’m overpowered when I’ve got my head in the game. Sometimes I will pick a slightly worst rifle that I also enjoy just for a challenge, another reason I find myself using the Selb 06. Though I will confess that sometimes I just whip out the RSC solely to bask in its glory. The sound, the looks, the interesting clip reload, and the two hit guarantee really are a treat. Furthermore I’m actually happy you explained what the hell the character was doing on the General Liu. I looked at it and was like, “wait my man just performed a fucking magic trick and made my SLR a bolt action rifle.” All around I do think the SLRs are something to be desired. They are pretty samey. Even the bolt action rifles stand out thanks to their sweet spots and muzzle velocities. Aside from the Federov, RSC, and Liu, they follow the same pattern of ability and the only thing that changes is the look. That’s ok and all but I find that it takes some really visually interesting guns and overshadows them since they are basically clones of each other. I never really realized until you pointed it out. That’s a shame as it really is interesting to see how different people and companies experimented with self-loading technology.
Presumably because they wanted to give it a more realistic fire rate, and wanted to use it to pad out the "Assault Rifles" weapon class, since there were enough semi-auto/self loading rifles in game. With the damage model they chose at that fire rate it's just the progression of increasing recoil that drove it's uncontrollability so high.
While there's no evidence that the Winchester 1907's were officially converted to full-auto by the French government, I would not be surprised at all if armorers at the company or battalion unit level modified the ones they got their hands on. It really wouldn't be that hard. The world wars were a bizarre time for improvisation in the field, and taking a weapon that was used historically by a couple thousand people, and having a version that shoots full auto in-game isn't nearly as absurd as the six cases where 2 marines kitbashed an airplane machine gun, an M1 Garand, and a BAR together for infantry use.
I completely forgot the Liu rifle had that bolt action feature. Shows you how much I used it. My most used medic guns on Xbox were M1907 Sweeper, Federov Trench, 8.25 Extended, M1907 Trench, Ffarquhar Hill Storm. So I definitely preferred aggressive medic/spam because I can't aim. But I do like playing close to heal teammates. And I spell Ffarquhar with two f letters because of ruddy Thomas & Friends
As a guy with 9mil medic score trust me, for the Fedorov and Farquhar you NEED to be using the buckhorn sight, much clearer sight picture. All you got to do is go to medic, equip one of them and click on the iron sights button and switch it to buckhorn. PS. Shame on you for using rifle grenades instead of the syringe.
Most of the time I had syringe, thank you very much. I only used grenades to get about 25 kills for some unlock requirement (a tip off that I never used them before either.) Also, the reason I prefer crate is because it recharges pretty fast and pouches are a lil jank, I almost feel like it’s easier to spread healing around with the crate since it’s near-instant to deploy and has that short cooldown. Also running out of pouches makes me sad…
Ohh boy a lot to unpack here, i have at least 10+ SS with every SLR in the game with a couple at 100. (RSC and 1906, 50+ with AL8 varients) Medic main. First; RSC is the best SLR in the game, this is pretty much just fact. It's hipfire is good enough for the close up engagements and it's a 2 shot out to most realistic ranges. 3 kills in one magazine is what sets it apart from the other semi SLR's. 1906 beats it in fights over 35m pretty consistently due to its higher accuracy and faster followup shots however the RSC has just so much going for it. Federov - Overrated. Crutch weapon pretty much, AL8.25 is a better gun in all the situations that you would want the federov in. Arguably the 1907SL trench as well. Damage is average, it has high recoil. Loose to SMGs + shotguns up close and struggle against other SLR's and the better MG's at medium range + the Martini. 1906 - ohh boy. Ok 1906 quite frankly is the best long range SLR in the game. 1906's stats are not "Factory" even though it says it is, its actually "Optical" without the sight. This by itself is a huge advantage to it since it gets iron ADS speeds and arguably better sight over the glass ones. Only the 8.35 can kill faster but a lot less accurately. It can fire pretty much at 300 without penalty, and the Vreoil often ends up being hit 1 to chest and hit 2 being a headshot. The sniper variant is a better long range weapon than the Mondragon sniper as you can actually hit sniper range targets without the bullet variance killing you. It's close range performance is almost as good as the 8.35 so this makes this weapon supremely good all around. You have to use a good pistol with it however. Mondragon - This used to be the best SLR in the game before the DLC's and TTK update happened. Sadly it just doesn't keep up stats wise anymore. Farquhar and Howell does what it does better. And 1906 and RSC are better ranged killers. The sniper scope while helpful and probably the most useful variant suffers for pretty terrible variation. 1916 - Factory all day every day, those problems go away with the faster reset + low firerate. Liu - Unique weapon, What makes it good is it's sweet spot, in semi it's a worse 1906.
To be fair, a lot of why a weapon works for someone in BF1 comes down to "the iron sights suit me" and "it feels right". Which are the two reasons why I violently disagree about the Farquhar-Hill! The ring aperture plus the AR-style front sights just make sense to my eye, for aiming. The gun's bullet velocity is as good as the two Selbstladers and the Mondragón. So, using its Storm-variant tame recoil and its high bullet velo, I use this gun to bait and bully snipers. You're not as safe in that position as you think, Scoutie Boy! Oh, what's the matter? Am I suppressing you with my massive magazine? Go ahead, glint me again -- I promise nothing bad will happen! Sike! Back to the spawn screen, you camping garbage! In the main, Prof, I agree with your rankings. But I had to defend my Art Deco baby.
Ah yes, the Fedorov, the AK of the Russian Civil wars and is the ancestors of the AK47. Never see combat during WW1, a couple of them saw combat during the Russian Civil wars, and were given to troops in Central Asia after the civil wars for pest hunting, because they realizes they can't get anymore round nose 6.5mm Japanese. If anything, the Fedorov evolves into the AVT and SVT, but the roles of the Fedorov using the ammunition that is most similar to intermediates rounds, came latter again with the introduction of the prototype RPD and it's 7.62x39 round.
Interesting list. Personally I find I do better with the 1907 factory than the Fedorov. The factory has better recoil recovery so you can spam it faster while staying accurate. If I'm playing good players I usually pick the 8.25 for the better TTK and if I'm dominating I use the 1907 factory for the larger mag and slightly better range. I don't see why I'd use the Fedorov over the 1907 tbh. I also tend to do really well with the 1916 marksman. If you control the engagements well and stay out of SMG range, you can completely dominate with good aim since no one can really out range you outside of snipers who you can suppress with the huge mag size. I always end up using the 1916 marksman for long range, the RSC optical for medium range or the 1907 factory for short range.
I started playing BF1 again this week after a break of… Dear God, 6 years? What’s struck me most is how active the community around this game still is 8 years on from release. Think we’ll be saying the same for BF2042 in 5 years? I actually looked up these videos to find some opinions on the guns in the game, since I did not compare them in the least back in the day, I just gravitated to what I was most efficient with. I used to run the SL M1916 Optical with 2.5x all the time, and I felt right at home, so I still do. I prioritise a clean sight picture and large mag over shorter TTK and lower recoil, since as a medic I’m not really supposed to be the hood ornament anyway. But if I’m feeling frisky and/or on Fort de Vaux, I’m definitely picking the Fedorov Avtomat. Glad I took the time to unlock it back in the day. P.S. I was actually encouraged to get back into BF1 by your dynamic reloads video, which is how I found your channel. Excellent work. 😎
Every time you post one of these, I have to go and play BF1. I really enjoy using all of these...except for the Farquhar Hill. I think you nailed it, with the wonky iron sights. Can't wait for support!
Two of my most Service-Starred weapons as a Medic are the Auto 8 .25 Extended, and the 1907 SL Sweeper. Breach and clear medic is best medic. Oh, and the main downside to the F-A Trench is the loss of credibility. Also - You only rated the Howell Sniper, and ignored the Factory variant. I would too, given that its iron sights are a sin against God.
dunno what was worse. unlocking the selbstlader sniper or unlocking the peacekeeper with people actively joining the servers to ruin everything. probably the 1906 sniper. at least the peacekeeper is THE PEACEKEEPER and not just a (debatably) slightly better autoloading 8.35 (also really enjoying the series! as someone whos gotten at least 1 service star on at least 1 version of every primary (minus the pieper and c93 carbine) it feels so validating to share opinions with someone who's going through a similar experience)
Actually the damage change on the general li rifle makes sense. The rounds gas is all going down the barrel to propell the bullet instead of sacrificing some gas to cycle the weapon.
Ah, while it’s true that more of the gasses would go to directing the bullet, the change would not me extremely consequential, it’d be probably the same as the difference between firing a cartridge from a revolver cylinder vs firing it from a sealed action, it certainly wouldn’t contribute enough to warrant a roughly 50% increase in power.
@professormemsclass revolvers actually lose a lot of pressure between the cylinder gap and the barrel, which is why we don't see much difference in power. 50% of course is not an accurate representation though, of the differences. Clearly it's over represented in the game, as a means to compensate the slower firing rate with higher damage
No disagreements here as while I do like the Farquhar-Hill and the sight don't bother me I can defiantly see how they would for many if not most people. Also went and checked my kills with the 4 get 300 kill weapons and while the other 3 have seen use since then the Selbstlader 1906 sits at exactly 300 and will probably do so forever more. The sniper variant is decent but faced with the sheer ammo in clip of the Howell I never find a use for it.
I got 3 service stars on the 1906 Selb... Not proud but I did it. I unlocked every gun in the game and that was my accomplishment. Also, I hate the Federov with a passion. It's the gun for the medics that don't actually heal anyone. Zero skill weapon. What feels good is kicking ass with guns that suck or no one uses.
Great video. My tier list would be a bit different. I think the fedorov is grossly overrated by the players and in my opinion, the cei-rigotti and autoloading are just upgrades at everything that matters (ttk and range). My S tiers would be RSC and autoloading marksman. Both are f'ing op with fastest ttk with autoloading having more leniency than the RSC with less rounds. I think the better a player's aim, the bigger the gap between the RSC and the autoloading in favor of the RSC.
Hard disagree on the selbstlader 1905 (biggest boy luger). Its my favourite medic rifle. you have to play it like a shotgun at close range and it wrecks at long range as well. But maybe I just love the aesthetics and reloads, i tend to play better with guns I like rather than the best stat guns. 2nd fave is the General Liu 2 for onner. The federov avtomat never clicked for me for some reason but the trench is decent as F.
The autoloading .25 is the mp18 of medic guns, good sights, fast reload, fast ttk, low recoil even in hipfire. Its a shame you didnt put it in s tier. It is imo a better balanced, and less sweaty fedorov. The fedorov is good absolutely but it absolutely falls short compared to the .25 and the .25 looks better too
Selbstlader 1906 is so sexy tho. Very elegant looking. I use it to flex on my opponents, cuz whenever I grab it its like "yeah, I CHOSE this objectively worse weapon and I still killed u lol"
I'm shocked my dart throw picks weren't to my detriment with those samey stats. I always assumed they were deeper but I couldn't be bothered to look them up or anything, so its relieving to know I wasn't screwing myself over! I kinda flipflop between what feels good to use, its a lot harder to identify clear differences between them like assault where i can whip out a burst weapon in world war 1, but thats my fault for throwing the federov to the side since i was put off by its iron sights and treated it like a BF4 weapon on my first go around which wasn't the best idea seeing that hipfire now. In any case, like with the assault video, the unending drive for hipster points is giving me the sudden urge to use the 1906.
If I'm topping up the Selbstlader with individual rounds, I always switch to my pistol and quickly back to my rifle to cancel the bolt closing animation. I'm pretty sure it's faster that way.
My anecdotal experience leads me to disagree with quite a few of your rankings. But, BF1 is alive and well, and hopefully people stumble across this video to help guide them and stick around.
I will not tolerate this Farquhar slander. It looks great, and has the best firing sound of all the medic guns. It's nice and bassy, but what really makes it is that you can hear the ring of the bolt slamming home after every shot. If you have a problem with the sights, try switching them to buckhorns.
As someone who got the sniper variant of that garbage I’ll just say that the moment I saw the unlock on my screen I redeployed in the middle of combat and immediately took it off my classes. The snipers not as bad as the factory but I wouldn’t rank higher than C tier.
I guess different regions have different opinions, but I think M1916 is definitely worth a A tier, I've seen many people in Asian server going 100-9 with it.
Amazing we're still getting great content for BF1 all these years later, now if only DICE could actually release a nonshit Battlefield to unite the playerbase again
I dunno man, my great-great grandfather who served in WWI thought that Fedorov-Avtomat Trench users were sweats.
Not gonna lie, I just need a break from the SLRs, the Fedorov Avtomat practically lets me use an S Tier version of a weapon class I would rather be using.
@@professormemsclassidk why they put the fedorov avtomat as a medic weapon, it’s litteraly an assault rifle. it should be assault class

Ikr? I love that gun so much! The sniping potential is just so good!
I just didn't know lmao. But now I really want to play this game again and try the gun
Because in BF, people like to gravitate towards stuff that gives easy kills. Because the General Liu takes some modicum of skill, people tend not to use it
I used it all the time I had people say I was hacking I would just laugh although it does take some skill to get used to
I got a service star with it, and I never realized It had 2 firing modes. That's so cool!
Glad to see another General Liu enjoyer, its my favorite medic rifle by far
I've grinded out almost every single primary weapon assignment in the game except the C93 Carbine and getting the Selbstlader 1906 Sniper was the hardest by far, I just do not like that gun at all lol
That makes me feel justified... also I haven't gotten the C93 carbine yet... and my Support video is next up...
@@professormemsclassI would recommend doing the c93 assignment on sinai. it seems to be the easiest way to do it.
Today i saw this video and didn't know that the liu can become a bolt action, so I grinded it and gave it a shot. New favourite gun so far (I main sniper with infantry variants that hold 30 rounds in total, so seeing a bolty with 70 rounds was insane)
me too, the liu is by far my favorite medic rifle too. it just feels so classy to use.
I have personal bias for the Mondragón being Mexican and it's one of the only Mexican guns in basically any game ever

NEW PROFESSOR MEM VIDEO DROPPED🗣🗣🗣
as someone who has unlocked the sniper variant of the selbstlader 1906, you aren't missing out much
I remember on launch it was considered "The" Sniper variant because a lot of the guns that filter into the higher tiers were added in DLCs. I don't think the Mondragon was a launch gun, and might have been added later, but don't quote me on that.
However, since most people getting into BF1 are probably doing so via the Revolution Edition which contains all the DLCs, that makes sense they would all be treated on equal footing.
@RedShocktrooperRST I played medic a bit on launch, and the mondragon was definitely in the game on launch.
The 1906 sniper war may go to counter sniping gun. Catching anybody standing still with this gun was a quick death.
I found a lot of success using it close range actually due to its high fire rate, a little problematic when multiple people are attacking you
I can broadly agree with this, honestly.
I keep coming back to the cei rigotti no matter what else i use.Sadly he did not notice that the factory version is the most accurate.(i can kill snipers with it)
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I just prefer other stuff, the Cei Rigotti is definitely capable for many ranges.
Ah I see, thanks for the info!

Imo, use the fedorov for aggresive play, use the rsc for more defensive/long range. Also, as a big luger enjoyer, that ranking hurts
Sorry... just my opinion. Big Luger love is valid
Ngl this might be your most based BF1 tier-list yet, only real disagreement is the Farquhar, which I really like
Farquhar optical is my favorite gun in the whole game, with the little dot reticle it just feels very accurate like a laser beam mid to longer ranges. No other weapon has the same feel

My favorite gun (Howell Automatic) got the A tier, I'm happy with that
Btw, the anti-air sight feels great on it
Haha yeah, better than the iron sights I think, but a little goofy
Underrated weapon. I know the iron sights are goofy asf but I find myself using them for the challenge 😂
The sights, the sound and the slightly impractical reload make me love it (and yes i have a soft spot for it and the 5 rounders for some reason)
Selbstlader 1916: 26 rounds and 3 shot to kill at any range, lets you mow down 8 people theoretically with one mag and is magazine fed, it’s the strongest on paper but it’s so damn inaccurate.
Thanks for the boost pardner, and for sharing your thoughts.
I love your videos, man! This is exactly the kind of Battlefield content I've always wanted to watch. I've been watching your videos for a few months now, and I don't think there's any other channel quite like yours.
I really appreciate hearing that
The Federov was a saving grace for medic class. It allowed medics to be far more aggressive to revive their buddies in a hot zone
2:23
The Cei-Rigotti had a maximum firerate of a far more comfortable 600 RPM, but for obvious balance reasons, this wasn't implemented.
I still dont get why medic, the class designed to be in the front lines reviving your battle buddies, was given medium range weapons
In BF1, there is either the 1907 Sweeper or there is the wrong weapon.
Interesting indeed
They somewhat ruined the 1906 Factory in the TTK 2.0 Update, as it is no longer a 'Factory' variant, something which was amazing on a 300RPM 3BTK. For this reason, I have around 90 stars on this weapon, most of which were pre-update. The sniper variant is infinitely more powerful and is probably the best counter sniper medic rifle.
Ah I see, I didn't know this lore, but it makes sense.
Oh hey, I actually made a joke alluding to it in my BFV Recon Tier List, very cool!
Respectable opinion for sure
Except there is no reward with this gun. This comment is extremely pretentious.
Babe, wake up! Professor Mem just dropped!!
For medic class, I main Federov and Farquar. Interesting to see they are at opposite end of the list. I usually take Farquar in less populated gamemodes and/or big maps. For mid-range 1v1s, Farquar feels just right with its reliable recoil.
alr top 3 medic guns that have no room for argument:
#1: Federov Trench
#2: Setsblander 1916 Marksman
#3: M1907 Factory
100% accurate no diff
I'll advocate that the 1906 sniper variant was annoying as hell to get, but it makes the recoil and toggle lock issue be removed entirely. Its odd however, as since the velocity and damage stats are the same as the mondragon sniper, there's little reason to use it other then its for supposed accuracy. From what I've read, people that like the 1906 praise that tight accuracy, and I guess if you want the assurance that random bullet deviation won't fuck you over, there's that at a higher range? Puzzling.
The Remington 8 with the extended mag, also has a “secret” reload. That gives it cool points for me.
I basically only used the RSC in this class, I wasn’t much a medic player but the RSC was one of my favorite guns in the game.
The pre order bfv weapons are still available by subscribing to ea play. Note you will lose them if your subscription expires.
Well... I guess that means they're still unobtainable...
For real though that's good to know, but I'm under no circumstances subscribing to EA Play.
That's reasonable
The medic guns do feeling very same-y but somehow it is the class where I use the most varying loadouts.
now to think about that my ancestors, soldiers in austro-hungarian army (at start) had to use single shot breach loder....
You CAN get the BFV preorder guns tho, just have to get EA Pro subscription and add BFV to your EA library to get em, sadly once it ends you can’t use them anymore
So I've heard now... not worth it though I think
The sniper varient of the 1906 is so worth the pain
Is it actually?
If you like playing the game a lot anyway and have gotten pretty accurate/don’t mind dying when out of ammo (a lot) it’s quite worth it
General Liu in Bolt action mode is basically the goat for me. Absolutely awesome
I have the Selbstlader 1906 Sniper, it is more like a long-range DMR, it is very precise and the reload doesn't matter as much because you use it from afar, I think I put it in C or low tier of B.
I Farm that self loading rifle in hardcore much easy to get kills.
Medic with the healing pouches, the Fedorov Avtomat and the Auto Revolver is the most ridiculously versatile class in the game I swear to god, just a DM machine.
Farquar hill is only useable on optical variant and using it needs you to keep the 2 important rules of medic weapons
1. Do not spam rather spam 2_3 bullet then do it again or just tap fire
2. Be stationery
Farquhar hill out of all of the medic weapons punishes you the most if you broke those rules

@@professormemsclass I didnt think of that, a translation error does seem likely

I looked at it and was like, “wait my man just performed a fucking magic trick and made my SLR a bolt action rifle.”
All around I do think the SLRs are something to be desired.
The 1907 in BFV is uncontrollable and has a 770 fire rate, do you know why it changed?
Presumably because they wanted to give it a more realistic fire rate, and wanted to use it to pad out the "Assault Rifles" weapon class, since there were enough semi-auto/self loading rifles in game. With the damage model they chose at that fire rate it's just the progression of increasing recoil that drove it's uncontrollability so high.
The M1906 is such a strange gun for me. To me, its the worst gun available to Medics but it was still my most used SLR until the RSC was added.
Also, the medic pouch is in most cases better than the crate.
@@professormemsclass Still, you need to be using the buckhorn sight for at least those two weapons.
Hey he said Cei-Rigotti correctly but not the Mondragon which is a Mexican rifle named for the surname of its designer.
I'm really glad to hear you've been enjoying the game then
: )
Every time you post one of these, I have to go and play BF1. I really enjoy using all of these...except for the Farquhar Hill. I think you nailed it, with the wonky iron sights.
Can't wait for support!
I have 100 stars with the RSC optical and yes i can confirm its an easy S tier! I just melt people with it when I am in the zone 🤞
I would too, given that its iron sights are a sin against God.
dunno what was worse. unlocking the selbstlader sniper or unlocking the peacekeeper with people actively joining the servers to ruin everything.
probably the 1906 sniper. at least the peacekeeper is THE PEACEKEEPER and not just a (debatably) slightly better autoloading 8.35
(also really enjoying the series! as someone whos gotten at least 1 service star on at least 1 version of every primary (minus the pieper and c93 carbine) it feels so validating to share opinions with someone who's going through a similar experience)
300 kills with the Selbstlader 1906 are pure pain. I know and I don't recommend it at all
Great video.
Hey, that’s based
I'm shocked my dart throw picks weren't to my detriment with those samey stats.
I got immediate appreciation hearing the BO2 OST in a 2024 video about a Battlefield game
If I'm topping up the Selbstlader with individual rounds, I always switch to my pistol and quickly back to my rifle to cancel the bolt closing animation. I'm pretty sure it's faster that way.
Good strat
My anecdotal experience leads me to disagree with quite a few of your rankings. But, BF1 is alive and well, and hopefully people stumble across this video to help guide them and stick around.
great video brother, very extremely tempted to redownload BF1 and play again
keep jorking your bolt, i'll be in the trenches with you (subscribed)
I will not tolerate this Farquhar slander. It looks great, and has the best firing sound of all the medic guns. It's nice and bassy, but what really makes it is that you can hear the ring of the bolt slamming home after every shot. If you have a problem with the sights, try switching them to buckhorns.
As someone who got the sniper variant of that garbage I’ll just say that the moment I saw the unlock on my screen I redeployed in the middle of combat and immediately took it off my classes. The snipers not as bad as the factory but I wouldn’t rank higher than C tier.
M1916 seems low. I would put at least at A tier
I guess different regions have different opinions, but I think M1916 is definitely worth a A tier, I've seen many people in Asian server going 100-9 with it.
Selbstlader 1906 may be shitty in gameplay, but it’s by far the most classy and cool looking gun in the game. 10/10
Medic is probably my least played class in BF1 mainly because I usually like to play anti vehicle so this was extremely educational. Great video!
Practicing medicine has never been this much fun.
My top would be
Federov (which has the fcking best skin in the game)
Selbstlader M1916
RSC 1917
Amazing we're still getting great content for BF1 all these years later, now if only DICE could actually release a nonshit Battlefield to unite the playerbase again
