The finals is very far from being dead. It constantly stays between 10-15 thousand concurrent players on steam and they have over 200 thousand daily active users and either season 4 coming out very soon which has a lot of hype around it those numbers should skyrocket

Battlebit Remastered had a issue of the dev trying to cater to both hardcore and casuals. TTK for SMGs and the "Movement shooter" kids come in and basically wreak the whole playing field of 9-5 players. Also the Voice chat use to be the gold of the game, but it has been ruined by them policing it and making it not fun to Roleplay. Snipers also were a big issue and alot of people didnt like when their either made it better or worse. The game itself i loved, but it legit died out for such crappy support and intent to allow a divide on hardcore and casual players or a choice of servers to restrict more things. The TTK as i mentioned earlier made the support class not played by anyone and you would have a spammed amount of "Solo medics" who would not heal anyone and just run with SMGs and do COD:BO dives all over the place. This is all just my observation from playing the game until i stopped.
I really do regret spending my money on it. Seems like all the fun was during the beta, not the actual launch. Also, the grind for weapons is MASSIVE. The amount of EXP you need to get is too much for a normal person.

about 15 seconds for me usually in power shift. Only if we queue with 5 it can get up to 1 minute. I have no idea how it took him 8 minutes. Im also queueing EU same as him. Maybe he has his matchmaking region set wrongly or something?
The finals being called a "dead game" or "forgotten" is far from it. Still one of the best games to come out this year and is sooo much fun. Season 4 comes out in about a week too. And the skins are great.

The finals movement system and inertia is insane. When you're a medium class running into a map jump pad that launches you forward, you slide into it and it just boosts you so much and if you have your jump pad gadget and place it as your sliding down from a fall you can go flying forward so much it's amazing. If you're playing as a light build with a dash you can slide dash into a jump pad and it will also propel you forward significantly. Played this since beta and I've been enjoying really it. I hope they don't pull the plug

Yeah… when I played it my starting gun’s recoil was horrible, thing was bouncing left to right, up down and i needed to hit people like 15 times for them to die. The enemies though, they’d have oneshot kill no recoil guns that I just couldn’t compete against
I have 600 hours on the finals and don’t know if I’ve ever waited for over 2 mins to find a game. The wait time is normally 30 seconds tops. That must’ve been a glitch

You shouldve included Battalion 1944. It was a Kickstarter game that generated lots of hype and its whole gimmick was trying to bring back COD2 and 4 and Promod vibes. Lots of famous youtubers like Jackfrags and Shroud made videos about it but devs abandoned it and it eventually died
unique and fun doesnt cut it though...the game looks weird and boring, everyone I talked to about it said it didnt look like a game they see themselves playing for long...not saying it doesnt appeal to other people I am just telling you why I think a lot of people are not playing it based on my experience

clicked in cuz i saw the thumbnail and i was like "wait thats kyoto". finals has def not been forgotten. it didnt retain as much players as i felt like it deserved, but it was about average. player counts always go down. but rn everyones excited for season 4 coming soon. ive been playing more the past week or so to see if i can catch up with my battlepass and never had long queue times. power shift was always less than 2 minutes. less than a minute average. only world tour take a little longer since its gotta get all the 24 players and them being in 8 different teams and also its end of season so less are playing in general until s4. even then world tour took maybe 3 minutes max

The biggest problem with WW3 was the matchmaking. It was Tarkov levels of horrendous, and it actually made me stop playing the game even after I payed for the game.
It is sad that the release was so shit for the game. When they made it free on steam i gave it a try and it is a fun game it is satasfying to get kills and the tank gameplay is nice.
Gray zone isn't dead. you were playing it extremely wrong. the game is a milsim, one of which comparable to games like Insurgency, arma, tarkov. the genre is hard to get into. most of your gripes about the game were about mechanics that are common for the genre. the reason that one NPC took so many round was cause you were using JHP round on a heavily armored and the more end game enemies. the game is being updated, continuously to this day and is actually doing quite good.
Gray Zone is basically where Tarkov was in 2016. It's just the framework of a game at this point. But it's a solid frame. It just needs more time to cook.
Xdefiant isnt dead though. More content coming confirmed by Mark 🤘🏻the numbers dropped due to a slow down on the content pipeline but its expected when theyre playing the slow game to combat COD
The Finals its literally best FPS game in many years. Sad this masterpiece have not so many attantion, but I'm glad that online is ok and hope its not gonna fall. Love this game.
These games are mostly not forgotten, they just left the spotlight for a while. But if you want an actual dead game(rather game mode) you need to play ghost recon wildlands mercenaries mode. You will most likely only be able to play that if you either get very lucky at peak hours or somehow get a time machine and go back to launch.

Most people nowadays are jjst on the hype hate train 2042 is the beat game on the list if not all categories lets be realistic here. Specifically when it comes to the battlefield killers all it messed up on was not having specific classes and could have added a few more weapons.
Xdefiant deserves more points for post launch support: already two 2 themed season, 2+ weapons per season, one new hero per season. Already 7 maps added. 3 more game modes (also bomb).
damage feedback is something i experience in a lot of other games, including call of duty and battlefield. which leads to a lot of frustration when i watch the killcam and it's not same as what I saw just before I died.
xDefiant actually looks really good, can actually see your opponents like in the old cods. And has the real OP snipers like the actually fun call of duty’s back in the day like black ops 1. Gonna try it out today
Gray Zone is literally in pre-alpha. It has a very active community the devs listen to suggestions as well. Its tight knit but this game will be a major contender in the Extraction Shooter space once the updates start rolling out more frequently.

The Finals does NOT deserve to be in this list. The game is one of the best FPS from the last decade, it still has a steady playerbase (and i can find matches in less that 2 minutes everyday), even if it's nowhere near close the launch one, which honestly, is BAFFLING given how well made the game is. I'll never understand why it's not at least in the top 10 on steam.
It's not just about the game itself, but how it's promoted. A lot of people, like me, didn’t even know these games existed. When TH-camrs play them, it’s more likely casual players will join too. Also, making friends in the game is important. In CoD, you have a big, easy-to-use friends list, and the voice chat helps a lot. In other games, no one really uses voice chat. I think thats the problem.

it actually didn't lose much popularity during S2 and S3. only during S1 after the initial hype wave. playercounts have remained steady throughout all of S3, it actually saw the highest it's been in months last weekend
The Finals is a such a gooooood game, worth trying. It seems difficult at first, but you just have to get the hang of it and play correctly. With a random team it's difficult, but it's a game, it's good to play with friends

I wanted to get into BattleBit so bad, but the square character models of the characters blended right in with the square environment, and I couldn't see anything unless they were right in front of me.
big problem with battlebits failure is because of competitive people wanting to play the game more competitively and it isnt really their fault its just human nature getting use to and understanding something and in result in that less proximity chat and due to an increase of more competitive players resulted in the game prioritizing the people that would play the game more competivitly since they would cry about the game more and because of that things were changed so the game became alot less team orientated and just kill the whole community the game had
You were playing a DEFENSIVE character in Xdefiant. She defends. Her ult is extremely useful for capturing points since your shield also works for your teammates. If you're trying to get free kills with it, you're playing the wrong character.
For Battlebit I'm just waiting for the big update, I'm sure that when it arrives the game will surely revive and bring a lot of content for many years to come
I played the finals so much, but unfortunately here in Brazil the game is practically dead, as you have to wait in a line of at least 15 minutes to find a match, and if you try to play on another server, the ping goes up radically...

What made me quit The Finals was that almost all matches felt really sweaty, then I searched that up and turns out the game has SBMM. Also I am currently playing Payday 3 and I feel like it is making a comeback (went from 300-500 active players to around 3000 on Steam by making good updates)

Unisoft came out and said they are full supportive of Xdefiant and the road map for looks amazing so far and is currently on track to release as said.

The biggest problem with WW3 was the matchmaking. It was Tarkov levels of horrendous, and it actually made me stop playing the game even after I payed for the game.
It is sad that the release was so shit for the game. When they made it free on steam i gave it a try and it is a fun game it is satasfying to get kills and the tank gameplay is nice.

Gray zone isn't dead. you were playing it extremely wrong. the game is a milsim, one of which comparable to games like Insurgency, arma, tarkov. the genre is hard to get into. most of your gripes about the game were about mechanics that are common for the genre. the reason that one NPC took so many round was cause you were using JHP round on a heavily armored and the more end game enemies. the game is being updated, continuously to this day and is actually doing quite good.
Yeah Grey Zone is just in early access, they also revealed their roadmap which looks very promising

Gray Zone is basically where Tarkov was in 2016. It's just the framework of a game at this point. But it's a solid frame. It just needs more time to cook.

The Finals its literally best FPS game in many years. Sad this masterpiece have not so many attantion, but I'm glad that online is ok and hope its not gonna fall. Love this game.

to be fair, the weapon recoil in XDefiant actually looks good and not all earthquake-inducing like in a lot of games
These games are mostly not forgotten, they just left the spotlight for a while. But if you want an actual dead game(rather game mode) you need to play ghost recon wildlands mercenaries mode. You will most likely only be able to play that if you either get very lucky at peak hours or somehow get a time machine and go back to launch.

I don't think 2042 and The Finals are dead games...because they seem to be well alive, especially 2042 in it's current state. I don't know about Grey Zone but I don't think it's dead though.
Most people nowadays are jjst on the hype hate train 2042 is the beat game on the list if not all categories lets be realistic here. Specifically when it comes to the battlefield killers all it messed up on was not having specific classes and could have added a few more weapons.
Xdefiant deserves more points for post launch support: already two 2 themed season, 2+ weapons per season, one new hero per season. Already 7 maps added. 3 more game modes (also bomb).

Gray Zone is literally in pre-alpha. It has a very active community the devs listen to suggestions as well. Its tight knit but this game will be a major contender in the Extraction Shooter space once the updates start rolling out more frequently.

I want to know what happened to Hyperscape. That game seemingly dropped out of existence, I never played it but I went from hearing about it to no one remembering it.
The Finals does NOT deserve to be in this list. The game is one of the best FPS from the last decade, it still has a steady playerbase (and i can find matches in less that 2 minutes everyday), even if it's nowhere near close the launch one, which honestly, is BAFFLING given how well made the game is. I'll never understand why it's not at least in the top 10 on steam.
It's not just about the game itself, but how it's promoted.
A lot of people, like me, didn’t even know these games existed. When TH-camrs play them, it’s more likely casual players will join too. Also, making friends in the game is important. In CoD, you have a big, easy-to-use friends list, and the voice chat helps a lot. In other games, no one really uses voice chat. I think thats the problem.

it actually didn't lose much popularity during S2 and S3. only during S1 after the initial hype wave. playercounts have remained steady throughout all of S3, it actually saw the highest it's been in months last weekend

The Finals is a such a gooooood game, worth trying. It seems difficult at first, but you just have to get the hang of it and play correctly. With a random team it's difficult, but it's a game, it's good to play with friends

I wanted to get into BattleBit so bad, but the square character models of the characters blended right in with the square environment, and I couldn't see anything unless they were right in front of me.

big problem with battlebits failure is because of competitive people wanting to play the game more competitively and it isnt really their fault its just human nature getting use to and understanding something and in result in that less proximity chat and due to an increase of more competitive players resulted in the game prioritizing the people that would play the game more competivitly since they would cry about the game more and because of that things were changed so the game became alot less team orientated and just kill the whole community the game had
You were playing a DEFENSIVE character in Xdefiant. She defends. Her ult is extremely useful for capturing points since your shield also works for your teammates. If you're trying to get free kills with it, you're playing the wrong character.
For Battlebit I'm just waiting for the big update, I'm sure that when it arrives the game will surely revive and bring a lot of content for many years to come
I played the finals so much, but unfortunately here in Brazil the game is practically dead, as you have to wait in a line of at least 15 minutes to find a match, and if you try to play on another server, the ping goes up radically...

What made me quit The Finals was that almost all matches felt really sweaty, then I searched that up and turns out the game has SBMM. Also I am currently playing Payday 3 and I feel like it is making a comeback (went from 300-500 active players to around 3000 on Steam by making good updates)
