I find that the 1906 and ZH-29 are both a lot more fun when you stick to iron sights and get in closer with them, rather than just treating them as sniper rifles for people who can't snipe. And the 1906 is _a lot_ more useful in V than it was in 1, because back then it was a three shot kill on a five round mag. It wasn't any more powerful than any of the SLRs that had at least double its capacity.

I have no idea why they made 2042's melee system _so much_ worse. You can only equip one takedown, it's purely cosmetic, it only works from directly behind, and it's _in third person?_ What were they thinking?

I've kind of fallen in love with the Breda, landing full bursts on several enemies in a row just feels so nice.

The Jungle Carbine is very nearly perfect in my eyes. Literally the only thing it's missing is a bayonet.

I basically never use scopes. I cut my teeth on the Infantry rifles of BF1, and I'll be damned if I'm going to hang back now. And I still don't understand why they made aperture sights suck so badly. Only 2x magnification, so it _should_ be a close range affair, and for that you get a clumsy, cloudy sight that can't even maximise fire rate. Ultimately, I believe that using close range options as a Recon works for teamplay. Your role of spotting enemies is _much_ more important than anybody you could just pick off with a sniper rifle. Get those flares up! I absolutely _adored_ the Lee-Enfield in BF1, but the version in V just doesn't _quite_ hit that same itch. I suspect it's because of the no.4's ring sight, and I swear to god the damn thing is subtly misaligned. The Jungle Carbine, however, now that's where it really is. 2x scope with a clear picture and it can cycle while zoomed, all without interfering with the reload? Yes please! The M.95 was changed significantly from its BF1 incarnation, losing its previously impressive smooth speed and low power in exchange for _higher_ power and a slower, almost sticky bolt. Very odd. I guess it makes sense that the bolt wouldn't actually be that smooth to operate, as the M.95 was notoriously a bit of a bitch to handle. However, they did improve its animations substantially, as BF1 gave it a weird Garand-like automatic ejection for its clip, even while it's on its last round when that clip should have dropped out of the gun already. BFV fixes this by simply removing the ejection entirely, making it so the clip has to be manually pulled out, and it has the correct last-bullet reload. The ZH-29 is way better with irons and _without_ detachable mags. It's better to limit oneself, you understand. I love the Arisaka when used with irons, because it behaves remarkably similar to its BF1 incarnation. Very smooth, and some of the best iron sights in the game. It gets shit done.

The M30 is just... _really_ fucking fun to use, and even looking at it in action is a treat. It kicks almighty amounts of ass when used right, and _nobody_ will give you shit for using it, because they know damn well that it takes effort to use. The S2-200 is fucking weird. It's an MMG that really shouldn't be one, because it's actually _lighter_ than, say, the Lewis, while having a smaller magazine. I feel like the MG-42 and 34 should get bonus points for having unique barrel-changing animations in the event of an overheat. The Type 11's top-up reloads should have been standard, I don't get why it needs a specialisation. It only works on multiples of five, so it isn't really much of a balance problem.

You are a man after my own heart, you know that? Anyone who takes fucking up vehicles seriously is an angel in my book, and disliking mines is just another point in your favour. When using the lunge mine as a Support, it's helpful to carry ammo crates. You can drop it right after impact to immediately get another lunge mine, and if the enemy tank isn't paying attention, it'll be absolutely ruined after the second hit. EDIT: Oh, you've already said that. Told you we were on the same wavelength. Speaking of ammo crates, I preferred using the _pouches_ back in BF1 because they actually reloaded _gadget_ ammunition instantly, a fact that very few people actually seemed aware of. Very useful when supporting anti-tank efforts. In BFV, the pouches are limited to bullets, but are still useful for maps without significant vehicle presence and for just keeping fresh spawns stocked up.

The sidearms of BF1 are undoubtedly the most effective of the entire series, and I reckon it's because the game environment frequently emphasises close combat with its tight trench networks and bunkers, while only one class has primaries that are outright superior in a CQC environment. Medics work at mid-range, Supports have big clunky machine guns that are better used from a stable position, and Scouts shouldn't even _be_ that close. This makes them all vulnerable to getting up in their face. You get more _chances_ to use pistols and melee, without getting shot to pieces by some jackass with an assault rifle a hundred metres away. My favourite is the Webley MkVI, of course. It served me _fantastically_ well during my time in the game. I suspect that the Mars Pistol is limited to Scouts precisely because it's so powerful. It compensates for their general weakness at close-mid range. 16:23 My thoughts exactly. I use guns in Battlefield based on whether they're _interesting,_ rather than just effective. Everyone's running around chasing metas, and then there's me trying to find the jankiest prototype available.

Battlefield 1 wasn't the first game with dynamic reloads. There was this game in 2011 Red Orchestra 2 where if you need to reload it always put only that many bullets as you fired with one additional bullet because you lost one after opening the bolt. See for yourself. Battlefield wasn't first to introduce it.

It's funny how arguably the best sniper rifle is on the medic class, and arguably the second best is the worst at doing recon. And it makes perfect sense in the game.

After 2000 hours playing this game pretty much comes down to this imo: 3 best all class handguns by far Colt SAA, 1911, MLE 1903. Why? 1911 is the best all rounder handgun in the game period. Good damage output and very fast reload and easy to use. Pros and noobs alike make this also the most used for a reason. When you are in a bind and need your handgun to kill 1-3 opponents 1911 can do it reload and then kill 2 more. It's a handgun that when you are out of ammo with your primary you can clear flag with and have a decent chance of surviving. Most handguns cannot do this. SAA can 1 shot headshot. That alone makes it incredible. 60 body damage is surprisingly good too. MLE 1903 has amazing finishing potential with its fastest in class switch speed, good accuracy stats and when in the hands of a pro 2 taps with headshots. Class only: A, Gasser. It's a worse SAA that gets replaced by SAA. However it's stats are almost as good and fills the same role. S, Bulldog. One of the fastest killers in the game this is what you take as you are moving close in room to room for the next setup point. M, Taschenpistole. Fastest reload in the game and very fast switch stats. Out of the 4 hit spam fires this is probably your best choice if you have to kill more than one opponent. Auto revolver is also top tier. Sc, Depending on what scout you talk to it's a tossup between frommer stop and the Mars. Personally like running with the frommer stop or 1911 because of the aggressive scouting style i am accustomed to. Overall best guns would be 1911 and SAA. MLE if you are good. Under that would be guns like Bulldog, Taschen and Auto revolver. Then guns like Mars, Frommer and Mk.IV. Oberez is very overrated. There is a lot of RNG in that 1 shot range. If it hits the arms for whatever reason its not a 1 shot and you will probably die at that point. SAA is a much safer choice and still can 1 shot, in some ways more reliably. Longer range SAA has almost as much velocity so hitting distance hits still favors it considering it fires at over 3x the speed when ADS.

Between bf1 and bfV, the Luger is much better in V. Simply from having a better rate of fire. The mle1903 should have a better muzzle velocity due to it firing 9mm browning vs 9mm parabellum of the luger

Peacekeeper was a bitch to get on pc. When me and my friend did it some lvl 200s which I don’t remember if they were hacking or not came in and started killing us and blowing shit up.

I think the next step will be adding more animations for the same gun in random order, but with same reload time. It’s more realistic and still competitive to not rely on random reload time speed.

The type 11 reminds me of an m60(as in game logic) Slow fire rate and handling but chunky damage and no recoil

You see, for many nations, what is an Automatic rifle, can be fitted into the roles of a light machine gun. The Madsen is uses as the first LMG ever to exist, but its was design more in line with an automatic rifle, then the French Chauchat, then the KV-9 and that Finnish LMG, and of course the BAR, they are automatic rifles, uses as LMG.

Seeing someone treat the M3 with respect warms my heart. Its the gun i started with when i started playing BF5. I still remember choosing medic in my very first match, and when i saw that there is Grease gun, i instanly went for it and had so much fun with it... I still use it to this day, along with the ZK sometimes. Might not look like the prettiest gun, but i strangely like how it looks. Plus the fact that i studied its's history just makes me respect it a lot more. (Believe it or not, the Grease gun was in service till 1998, tankers, field engineers, and medics loved it, imagion outliving the Soviet Union lol)

When bf2042 came out I remember that the revolver when fully emptied and reloaded only gave you 5 rounds instead of 6. I’m guessing it was using the same code as magazine weapons

The assault rifle might be based on the K2? Or perhaps another one of the Daewoo rifles in that family? They share the same similarity to the AR-15 in the lower receiver’s design and the K2 has a folding stock.
