Can it be used as a KVM switch? Connecting your mouse and keyboard to the screen and then the screen two your work and gaming machines? And switching what machine the mouse and keyboard are connected to at the same time?

I received today my Dell monitor, I plug to my laptop using the HDMI - HDMI cable, but don't recognize very well the monitor, in fact, don't show the 3440 x 1440 resolution, I have another LG monitor 2560 x1080 and works perfectly, do toy think may be the cable? I have an HP pavilion laptop 15 cs2xxxx. Thanks
I don't have another monitor same resolution to try, but my husband connected to our Samsung TV and the laptop work in a even in a higher resolution than 3440 x 1440, we try whith different HDMI cables, and just work whith the HDMI, but just whith low resolution. I just started to think maybe I have a defective one, any idea? Thanks
@@thairyduque if it started working on your TV with lower resolution then it's probably your laptop right ? It sounds like your laptop can't output the higher resolution. I would suggest you call dell and get them to help you trouble shoot.
So the 3 options the on screen menu provides are: 21:9, Auto Resize and 4:3. I plugged in my Chromecast, which has a 16:9 output, into one of HDMI inputs and switched the aspect ratio to "Auto-Resize". This delivered a 16:9 imagine without any stretching - with black bars on the side. Hope that helps :)
How can I best test this? I have playing a few "HDR" videos on TH-cam, but I am not getting HDR as an option. Perhaps my Macbook pro 2018 doesn't support it?

What would you like to know? I use the monitoring for internet surfing, and I find it very pleasant to use. The high refresh rate makes it very comfortable. Hope that helps :)
@@whatsnew9510 Just bought an M1 mini with a 4k $700 LG 32". I was so disappointed by the greyish-black typeface and greyish whites. In fact some of the black outlines around buttons would disappear. On the Mac forum they said that no 4K can approximate 5k Retina from apple on any 4k monitor. Obviously I cant keep buying monitors to test. If I'm going to buy any 4k monitor it has to look like a 5k retina on typeface and blacks

HDMI will not get you this resolution. You will need a DisplayPort. HDMI I believe caps off at 1080.
Do you get power delivery through DP to USB-C cable to power a mac?

@@whatsnew9510 thats weird, so it only supports HDR with DisplayPort cable? Btw you will see how much better it looks with HDR.
@@judgedredd4081 I think the issue is with the USB-C to HDMI adapter rather than the monitor. Don't think it supports HDR pass through.

GSYNC flickers when u go below 60 fps, if you can maintain 60+ fps it won't flicker. Hope that helps
