I ordered the Dell and it’s straight up gorgeous in person 😄. You do have to go into display settings and turn on HDR and change the output to 144hz. Use DisplayPort instead of HDMI also but you should already know this lol.
Thanks for the review! Here in Australia the LG is exactly double the price of the Dell. I can't justify spending $1200 on a monitor when the Dell comes so close for half the price.
If you are like me and only casually play games, the Dell is a great choice. It's cheaper yet still looks phenomenal and feels really smooth. I seriously doubt anyone will notice ghosting unless they are actively looking and trying to see it and even then I personally don't think its as noticeable as stated in the video. Genuinely, I think the Dell should be considered more than the LG simply because of what it has to offer with it's affordability. Also, if you aren't VESA mounting, the Dell has a nice stand with a surface whereas the LG has feet and coming from my last monitor, I did not like having the feet. To top it off, the Dell has 4 USB slots vs LG with only 2 and that is just perfect for me.
This is what I found as well, medium is the best in controlling the ghosting on the Dell, still slightly there, but its minimal and proper color balanced. Had a G34-W10 before, and the ghosting was way green and much more noticeable. Also the Dell gets a 3 year premium panel warranty, LG gets a 1 year warranty.
I picked up the S3422DWG this year coming from an IPS, and it's insanely good for $350. Coming from IPS the deep blacks and lack of backlight bleed is stunning, and the monitor is great in games with "super fast" overdrive. There's also backlight strobing for perfect response, with pretty decent cross-talk. I borrowed a colorimeter and use it for photo editing, too. My only quibble is that the stand is wobbly on my wobbly desk, but I throw all my monitors on arms anyways.
Also worth mentioning that only Dell 3422DWG has PIP/PBP mode. This was one of the factors for me since I have a dual laptop setup. But I ended up with LG because of gaming performance and colors and also I have a second vertical monitor for multi laptop usage situation. Great comparison. Was looking for this few weeks back😊. Glad I figured out LG was better for me.

Hi, I have 2 questions regarding the Dell monitor: - Does it have speakers? I cannot find this information anywhere, - Does it have DP 1.2 like mentioned in the video or 1.4? I'm confused.
I've had the Dell for about two weeks now and the screen flickering with G Sync enabled is just unbearable. I've tried using utilities while tuning against the Nvidia Pendulum and it's just not usable. I've noticed it the most in the main menu of games. I eventually turned it off within the Nvidia Control Panel and it cleared up. I'm using an RTX 3060 so I think I'll just leave it off for now. Unfortunate, I'd rather they just not allow the monitor to be used in this mode.
They essentially the same panel, the 850 is supposed to be the new model, but they both use the same panel. Only difference is the 850 comes with HDMI cable and USB c cable adapter. You can compare them both on rtings so see the "difference"
It looks like the Dell 34" curved monitors have a vertical height advantage (screen wise) then the LG ones, am I wrong? I recently went into a Best Buy and saw a curved 32" Dell and the screen height wise was enormous compared to the other 34" curved brands....

I’m not talking about LFC flicker, I’m talking bad flicker even at high frame rates. Returning it for the LG. If you’re using freesync, stay away from the Dell.
That's probably because hdmi 2.0 doesn't support 1440x3440 @ 144hz especially @ 10bit 🤣
Freesync works perfectly without flicker using DP. Are you sure the resolution and refresh rate you were trying were within the HDMI spec of the cable and port you were using?
This or the LG34GN 850-B.. the LG costs 90% more in my country.. but if it is 30-40% better that's fine. I don't wanna pay twice for 10% though.
What Helicopter game are you playing?
Far Cry 6
Can’t believe you only have 5k subs that’s crazy.
His other chan had way more!
Excellent comparison review
Bought the lg for 500 euros today. Hope its really worth it.
r u happy with your purchase ? :)
wish lg made the control buttons to the side, with that i cannot use it properly when i would use my tobi eyetracker 5 ...
Don't buy LG trust me it's not what it sounds when you are playing out of your PS5 and playing apex the scream will flick when you have freesync and it gets annoying real quick
Hi,
I have 2 questions regarding the Dell monitor:
- Does it have speakers? I cannot find this information anywhere,
- Does it have DP 1.2 like mentioned in the video or 1.4? I'm confused.
It doesn't have speakers, and it's DP 1.4
Really hope you get a benq ex3410r 144hz 1000r curve 10bit no free sync flicker on my 6800xt like the asus and others I tried. 600usd
what keyboard is the white one?
What game are you playing at 3:44? Always looking for a new fps
@@TortillaChip1836 but what game is the helicopter shooting game I see him playing ...is that still insurgency ?
I've had the Dell for about two weeks now and the screen flickering with G Sync enabled is just unbearable. I've tried using utilities while tuning against the Nvidia Pendulum and it's just not usable. I've noticed it the most in the main menu of games. I eventually turned it off within the Nvidia Control Panel and it cleared up. I'm using an RTX 3060 so I think I'll just leave it off for now. Unfortunate, I'd rather they just not allow the monitor to be used in this mode.
just update the dell monitor driver, as it should resolve the issue with flickering
@@saarivaful Im receiving this Dell monitor soon. How would I update the driver on the monitor.
Dell is $365 in amazon right now... so.... yeah the Dell.
Got the dell and sadly the flickering was horrible, made me wish i had an amd card.
Hey what is the difference between 34GP83A-B and the LG 34GN850-B?
They essentially the same panel, the 850 is supposed to be the new model, but they both use the same panel. Only difference is the 850 comes with HDMI cable and USB c cable adapter. You can compare them both on rtings so see the "difference"
I am torn between these 2 monitors, I use both xbox , ps5 and PC
Lex. the Dell is currently on sale for $367.99 on Amazon. Debating on buying it right now.
Can someone confirm the version of the DP port on the Dell? Website says 1.4 but the video says 1.2
The product specs on the website are likely more accurate than a YT video.
These don’t support vrr for ps5 do they?
34GP83A is better. but it's also twice the price.
The Dell is $400 cheaper than the LG monitor on amazon right now
It looks like the Dell 34" curved monitors have a vertical height advantage (screen wise) then the LG ones, am I wrong? I recently went into a Best Buy and saw a curved 32" Dell and the screen height wise was enormous compared to the other 34" curved brands....
That's because a 32" isn't ultrawide, so it will be larger vertically than a 34" ultrawide
Some people say the Dell has good color accuracy and others dont this video for sure was sponsored by LG
I got my LG for $200 CAD off from Amazon :)
Yeah it's nice to see such good sales! Dell says it starts at $855 CAD regularly but it's been on sale for a while now, I'm holding out for any better deals on black friday.
@@zingus9 definitely!! Just FYI, even though I got it for $200 off, it still ended up being like $1035 with taxes 😬
I'm in BC though, so your taxes may vary.
@@zingus9 The Dell is currently $499 pre-tax with the 10%OFFMONITOR code, is it just me or is that a complete steal!?
@@Tropicocitwo Thanks man this code works!
No side by side? WTF
Well, you started by saying you like the LG so why do we review on the Dell so your bias we need somebody that doesn’t have the LG or the Dell and honest review.
I got the dell I had Samsung 34cf the Dell text is so blurry and red looks off and gamma is trash
Is that text issue still a problem for you? Debating on buying the Dell now, it's on sale for $367.99 on Amazon (USD).
Led name behind table?
Comparing $500 against $800 monitors...
Is Odyssey G5 34 good
Subbed. ✌🏽
$300 more for a 3x worse contrast ratio when the Lg only has an 8% lead on colors. Yeah no thanks. Everything unless you only play bright games looks washed out or faded because the ratio is so bad on the nano IPS.
The Dell in this video is $367.99. Pretty good value, should I go for it. Hoping I can calibrate it so the colors pop a bit more. Thoughts?
Does these have speakers ?
No speakers built in for the Dell.
just make side to side comparison insted of talking same things
0:03 why monitor names suck 🤣 sounds like math formula
Please do not buy the dell, you will regret it.
nice
You are comparing a 350 dollar monitor to a 700 dollar monitor
And yet the 350 monitor kicks ass for gaming only
No side by side? Dislike, this is garbage
the names lol
