- Here we are! The War that started them all! The final Heat and final of the first ever War. Jeremy Clarkson presents, Johnathon Pearce commentates and Philippa Forrester interviews the teams. The six combatants are Tracie, Scarab, Prince Of Darkness, Blob, Eubank The Mouse and Elvis.

Go Eubank the Mouse! It was a "stock robot", built by the producers to make up the numbers, but that just meant it was the only robot you could actually count on to WORK!
You're cheering for fucking stock robots? Seriously? Grunt eliminated Barry, WYSIWYG eliminated Plunderbird 1, and The Mouse eliminated Elvis. The only stock robot that did its job right in my opinion was Ramrombit. It was built by no other than George Francis, who'd later build the great Chaos 2. Ramrombit was a sacrificial robot, only appearing in the demonstration Inferno Insurrection in the end of the Second Wars along with Nemesis against Sergeant Bash, both covered in paraffin. Of course, Bash torched both of them. It was funny, and Jonathan Pearce just made it better with his hilarious commentary.
Technically George Francis didn't build Ramrombit but merely drove it in the Infernal Insurrection battle; the technical staff built it.
Jimjamatic Damn that was my fault. Didn't watch where I was typing. Ramrombit was actually built by the technical crew, my bad.

They guys who made Tracie went to school with Lewis of the Yogscast. He mentions it on Duncan's Minecraft series Blast Off episode 19
@SoccerAMVideos yeah i saw it on wikipedia, the reson i didn't think it was him was cause his name wasn't on the screen and he looks completly different now

It weird that the voice says, "stop, and deactivate robot" in series 1 rather than "cease"
CaruCath97 it depends on the event. In the first two events, it says that. In the fights, I think it says 'cease'.
I'm just glad they changed it to cease...
now I already know that there's an inbetweener and a Villeneuve lookalike but something else I've noticed is the teenager resting his head on his hand at 6:51 looks quite a bit like Lewis Brindley or better know as bluexephos from yogscast.

Nah, it's not but the robot "T.R.A.C.I.E" was actually built by some on Lewis' school friends. He mentions it briefly in the "Blast off!" series, episode called "Robot Wars" on Duncan's channel. Hearing them talk about that inspired me to relive my childhood, finding this TH-cam channel. :D

I can't believe the team who made elvis let it show its electronics! Who would do that?
Fun fact: Elvis was the Wooden Spoon of series 1, if you know what that means ;)
I think that the reason for that was so that they could get it off of the ramp.
What's with all the hate on Eubank the Mouse? Robot Wars needed some cheesy entertainment every series to make the audience smile, Blob has a sick design, T.R.A.C.I.E. were the only heat winners to not finish the gauntlet "Thanks very much for coming and now um... Go home!" Jeremy Clarkson was lucky no one unleashed their anger at him during production of the 1st series, BBC knew he was a bad boy all along.
People hate Eubank The Mouse because it is a stock robot. If you didn't know, a stock robot was one of three robots (along with WYSIWYG and Grunt) who were brought in by the producers to fill in the remaining three robots required for the series that competed in America previously. However since they were stock robots and not real competitors, they disallowed them to compete past the trails stage; this meant that three genuine competitors (Barry, Plunderbird 1 and Elvis) were denied a place in the trails as these three all made it past the gauntlet stage but either committed suicide or mysteriously "breaking down" thus eliminating then from the contest, all the while ruining it for the three who were proper contestants.

It was a shame for the competitors, it had no impact on the experience of the viewers at home.
The matches where the robots just get stuck on a spike or grid are so lame, I'm glad this was reduced in the newer "seasons".
