      RS how is this car so fast? This is the top speed of the 991.1 Turbo S......

      Porsche knows how to put power to the ground. Also, their stated performance numbers are generally under-rated (0-60, top speed, and presumably HP).

      Porsche always underestimates their performance. Power is more like 475hp stock, and the car is relatively lightweight by today’s standards. A stage 1 tune bumps power close to 550hp, putting its performance in supercar league.

    Porsche did a great job with making the engine sound less turbo charged but the difference is still quite spotty. No more insane natural breathing rawness. But probably worth it to comply with new regulations while making car faster. At least GT3 exists in natural aspiration still (and hopefully forever)

    Good real world review. For me, if I bought ANY 911 I would not only expect the best balances sports car driving but also top notch build quality. Door panels rattling??? On a car that costs over $100,000 CAD/USD??? Unacceptable. Something for new buyers of 911's to consider if looking at the GTS cars. Many WILL want to listen to music and not only the engine/exhaust.

  • @jdjames997
    @jdjames997 ปีที่แล้ว

    Excellent review, and well done. I enjoy your approach, not too technical, but you know your stuff. I’m getting close to getting my dream 911 (used) and the GTS is really the best package without going crazy on options. My dilemma has been getting the 911.1 or a 991.2. While i believe the .1 NA cars are fantastic, it’s hard to argue with more power and torque of the .2 and 992 cars, and they are tuneable. The pricing is high right now on the NA cars, so I can get a .2 car for not much more, and the financing is more favorable because they are newer. I’d like to know if anyone has any experience with maintenance issues on the newer turbo 3.0
    Engines, or if they are solid. I’d like to keep the car for at least 10 years, and while I’ll keep the miles low, I don’t want to have repair bills because I didn’t get a 3.8 flat 6….Any advice is appreciated with opinions?

    • @a.c.e.7568
      @a.c.e.7568 ปีที่แล้ว

      So what did you end up buying? I bought a used 991.1 GTS by choice although I have driven the 992 on the track. The kick you get with the turbo is nice and so is the PDK (on the track), but I much prefer the linear power of my NA 991.1 GTS and my 7-speed manual for street use.

    My first car was a midengined 1972 2.0 l 914, now revered by racing driver schools, later on I owned a 944, best handling transaxle you wish for and light as a feather (1120 kg). Now I am saving up for a boxster gts because I love open cars. And a nice 928 as an investment. They still are affordable right now. If I could choose just one old Porsche it would be a 911 SC Rally Special. Go check the sound. Older Porsches are more diverse than you would think, addictive and once you are fixed.... If you never owned one, buy one, no matter which one except the SUVs of course, good cars though. Now I am going to rent a new turbo 911 to make my own opinion of the new sound.
