    NOOO 😬 Keep it red!
I actually cannot imagine it in white, no matter what it was originally, I don't think I have ever seen a white one.
You could try a wrap if you are unsure. That way it's easily put back if you hate it. It also would protect the bodywork underneath.
It's great to see you enjoying this car. Your patience and knowledge has revived this car.
PS I wrote this 👆🏼just from the title of the video before watching it. Seeing it in white, it really did look ghastly. Keep it in 'resale red' as I believe it is called by many online.

Great idea on rebuilding the oil cooler line. I had the oil and fuel lines on my Porsche rebuilt recently and it turned out great. Saved a boat load of money too by reusing the stock fittings. Fellow 308 owner here. Check your airbox without the filter in it. Is there a mesh metallic material with some sort of fiber material behind it? If so you can cut out the mesh and remove the fiber material, which will improve the sound. The earliest 308s didn’t have this, afaik it was added because early rhd customers complained about the noise, so Ferrari just made all the air boxes like that that after the fix was introduced to rhd cars.

I agree with Dave Allison below... if YOU want it blue, make it blue! It's not going to be factory paint either way, so have it the way you want it. The only reason really for you to make redo it in red is because you want to make it easier to resell. Personally, I like red, but I'm not the one who has to live with it.

    Hi Jack
I’m really enjoying your videos of the Influenzo and it’s great to see you getting more confidence in the 308.
My 79 308 GTS was originally Blu Metallic Dino and it was repainted in Rosso Corsa in the late 80s. There is still a small patch of blue showing at the bottom of the A pillar as evidence. I would love to return it to the original colour but when I looked into the cost of doing this it was going to be £8k to £10k for a nut and bolt professional paint job so it is still red and that’s no bad thing. For me it was a big cost relative to the value of the 308 which is in good order already.
How much do you think you would need to spend to address the issues with your 308’s bodywork and still keeping it red?

    I owned 2 Ferraris in white, the first one was a 308 1978 the second was a 328gts 1989.
In the 60s and 70s there were many Ferraris
In all colours running around, but when I wanted to sell my 328 nobody wanted it. It must be red most of them said. Most real Ferrari collectors, or
Enthusiasts I know chose a colour they liked
Leaving red for the novice second hand know
F all about the cars. The last Ferrari I owned was black but the best looking by far was my
White 328 GTS Thank god things seem to of changed again with all the new colours available today. Just to add, my mother ran a white 246
For year's, she used to go to the shops in it
and used it as a run around this was in 1964
When she sold it in , I think 1973 she got £ 4000
With a full service history and 30,000 miles
On the clock. To tell the truth I can't remember seeing any red cars around at the time. The main dealer always had a few 246 for sale including
Two or three boxer's the most popular colour was dark blue white and Fly yellow

Rosso Red of course! White would be for a Vauxhall. Also, you must never use municipal tap water in your rad. That really goes for all cars. Buy deionized demineralized water in the large gallon container. Coolant is often overlooked by car owners. The chemicals in the coolant degrade and those are specifically formulated to keep seals supple and properly functional. Please take time to research how to do a full flush out and then use the deion / demin water. In addition to this all cars have factory spec glycol mix. Use the right glycol for the specific car and never mix in anything else. Ever!!

Mine is factory silver. I painted the inside of the 5 spokes on the rims black and it looks like it should have come that way from the beginning. Its a good combination.

White is a HORRIBLE color for a 308. Red ONLY.

There's nothing like the intake sound of a carbureted 308. I love these videos as I live vicariously through you!
Keep the red. I'd tolerate the white as they both work with the black interior but the red is iconic for this car.
I'm with you, though, as the blue 308s are gorgeous....but the interior needs to be crema' if you're going to go with blue. I wouldn't kick a "Blue On Black" F-car out of my garage, though.

No, no, no; Ferrari's should always be red, except when they are yellow. But seriously, white is the last color. White is what you use on a car when you are trying to cover imperfections in body work.

A Ferrari is not really a Ferrari if it's not red. It does look good in blue, but even better in red. But then again, I might be biased because I drive a red Stinger. Anyway, I don't fancy a white car, Ferrari or not. Nice sound out of those opened carbs. Thanks for sharing, Jack.

Quite sure Superformance have some K&N filters for your Influenzo. If not... try Minispares. Lots of Minis running Webers.
They will have the pancake type filters you need (bolt on, no doubt). Minis also suffer lack of space.
Notice tour car doesn't splutter much at all on the overrun. If you get K&N filters you'll need to re-adjust the mixture.
Else your car may be running lean, lose power and you might even overheat.
Also, you'll need to remove some baffles form the exhaust if you want it to scream, hammer and splutter.
What you'd really need is "cherrybomb" type instead of baffled pipes/boxes. They reduce the noise but let more "bang" through.
Your speedo is probably driven by a cable and it is worn out or lack of oil. Try oiling it... else new cable.
It starts with the needle shaking, then it sometimes works, or jumps around. Means the cable is frayed or sticking.
Also on the white - if you are not keen on washing cars, never take a white (or black...) car. Avoid like the plague.
