You're back on TH-cam
Yeah, I'm working on it. Been negotiating with TH-cam for the last few days and finally managed to get my monetization back like just a few hours ago, so hopefully I'll be posting more often in the future again. 😉👍
Rad @@CarStarz42
@@CarStarz42 That's interesting, that you can negotiate with them. So they are human? If you care to and would like to fill us in on some of the particulars, it would no doubt be interesting. I have to figure that they were losing money/viewers on their new policy else they wouldn't care. I only have about five youtube subscriptions, with yours really the only one that uses material from other sources, yet they/you all....ALL stopped posting for, it seems, months.
Regardless, welcome back!
@@CarStarz42Welcome back! I was wondering as well if you were back, since I saw some of your older content made a reappearance
@@johns2296 Thanks, yeah I had to delete and re-edit a couple videos for the re-monetization, but better versions of them are up now 😉👍
I read that Ferrari was so pleased with the positive press, they gave Tom Selleck one. Glad to see you back...your extensive research is very much appreciated.
I believe they did.
Thanks and glad you are enjoying the channel 😉👍
I've read the comments to see how this has come about, back on YT again, I'm so pleased it has been worked out because your content is excellent. Welcome back my friend, wishing you all the luck this time and like others, I'm here for the long haul.
Thanks much friend, yeah and I was never even breaking any rules or anything like that, the problem is with TH-cam is just getting a human to actually review the channel properly instead of their AI bots that just go around and incorrectly flag channels.
Good you see you posting again, its certainty been awhile.
Well, yeah but had to delete some videos the other day, so putting them back up as I've been negotiating with TH-cam for the last few days and finally managed to get my monetization back like just a few hours ago, so hopefully I'll be posting more new stuff often in the future again😉👍
there are Magnum PI branded Ferrari plastic model kits from Revell available on the used market
Indeed 😉👍
yep, and the old" stock model kits have started dropping off a little in price... when you find them.
'(;
I built that particular kit for my Grandma back in the 80s when I was a teen (she was a HUGE Selleck fan)! It was an incredibly well-detailed model, with pop-up headlamps, removable top, great interior, an opening engine cover and a VERY well-detailed Ferrari transverse V-8 engine and transaxle. I so wish Revell would reissue it today!
@@donreid6399 Nice 😉👍
They also had TC's chopper although it wasn't exactly the correct version. Built both as a kid.
Glad to see you’re back. I really enjoy watching your videos
Thanks. Yeah, I managed to get my monetization back last night at least, so hopefully I'll be posting more often in the future again 😉👍
Robin Masters other Ferrari 308 would've been worth a mention , his green one, number plate Robin 2 , it appeared in at least one episode maybe more , Robins arrogant Nephew used it when he came to visit.
Interesting, I didn't know about that one as I haven't watched the entire series all the way through anyways.
@@CarStarz42 Yes i remember that one but i think it had another plate since Robin 2 belonged to the Audi. The Audi itself would be a cool video for me too since i own one.
@@victorvance2573 Yeah, I'll most likely cover the Audi when making second rounds through my massive to do list at some point to cover secondary vehicles, just got so many other primaries let to do first before getting to secondary vehicles.
Love your vids. Glad you are back !
Glad to hear that! Yeah, I managed to get my monetization back last night at least, so hopefully I'll be posting more often in the future again 😉👍
Glad to have you back! Good luck!
Thanks much 😉👍
I saw a 308 for $25k in the early '80s. I thought that was a good deal. I told my dad and he just laughed. As a daily driver he said the upkeep would kill the low price. Beautiful car though. He was biased though as he liked the Esprit.
Lol 😉
The Esprit was definitely pretty, but a friend of mine traded his Porsche 928S for one, and it - being a Lotus - lived up to its reputation: Lots Of Trouble, Usually Serious! 🙂
'Magnum, you're not taking the ferrari after wrecking it last week do you hear me' yeah how many times that work 😅😅😅 as we know that in the end of every episodes he still drives it my friend.
Lol, indeed 😉👍
If Thomas Magnum had gotten his with the Quattrovalvole motor, he’d stop the baddies in no time; in 1987, Nintendo unveiled the hot home video game, crowned “Rad Racer”, which allowed you to choose between the Ferrari 328 and the Ferrari F1 race car, and the sequel, Rad Racer II, introduced in 1990, featured just the 328.
Lol, indeed on both accounts 😉👍
Two uploads at the same time? It's got to be Christmas 😊
Well, yeah but had to delete some videos the other day, so putting them back up as I've been negotiating with TH-cam for the last few days and finally managed to get my monetization back like just a few hours ago, so hopefully I'll be posting more new stuff often in the future again.
#6 You can also drive a Ferrari 306 on Hawaii in Test Drive Unlimited 2. Great game btw!
That's true as I have played that before many years ago. I wonder if that new game of theirs is any good or not. I haven't had time for trying any new games for well over a year now, been too busy with other stuff.
In the first episode(I think, first season for sure) Magnum sheds the top off and leaves it on the side of the road.
Lol, yeah.
Umm your information kinda contradicts itself, take a look at the vin numbers listed at 8:56
chassis 29109 34567 38527 and 57685, then stop at 8:59 28251, meaning its an earlier car, also the ones listed are all red and tan
that's red and black, unless that's the green metallic one they had in one of the episodes and its been resprayed red, that's not one of the real ones
and the first ones in aulstralia, I found the video with the owner who actually has a speech impediment
but seems like a really nice guy, and he talked about how they bumped I think the camera equipment or one of the walls at the start of the show, and ferrari wanted 7 grand to fix the grill on the back
so they just wielded it back on for 500, as their was some serious price gauging going on given where the car was located
and the 308 was 70 thousand dollars back then, a testarossa 90, which I think went up to a 110
or that might have been the countach
also the quattro valve motor formed the base of the 288 GTO's motor, which was turbocharged by the factory to put out upwards of 400 and some change
for group B rally racing, that was then used on the F40, using that same motor, and not the 328's
and I think theirs way more than a thousand left on the roads, like the person who made that list probably went off of the british numbers
where you can track a car by its entire history and registry on one single plate, and when they dont get retaxed, they sometimes consider a car a write off when it isnt
also early cars were fiberglass and featured 14 inch rims and tires, latter was 15 or so with bigger brakes and tires
in addition to the motor changes, and the smog equipment they had fitted, also ferrari had just been bought out by fiat so their was alot of sort of parts sharing going on, and they were trying to find their footing with marcelli ignition and the like
in addition to the oil crunch, so the more you could make with less the better, hence why the very first cars featured at the french autoshow
and the first 200 or so were fiberglass on a steel tubular chasis
and realistically your looking at about a 180 to 200 hp, but the main thing was it was a high revving motor, and it had a 5 speed which allowed it to reach about a 145 plus, when the vette could barely do about a 120 and it had a pretty decent 0 to 60 of about 6 and a half seconds despite the low power
its kind of one of those things where you dont go off the specs' you drive it and see how it feels
as its not about the figures, its what gets to the wheels, granted the 328, the upgraded version of it was kind of outgunned by the late 80's thanks to the corvette getting its power back up, and lotus doing the same
and porsche being porsche, not to mention by that time lamborghini was out of the game, with the jalpa going out of production in the early 90s
so it kinda got left in the dust, and with turbocharging kicking in, it just got worse
hence why you hear this reputation of its not fast, when it is fast
and even some idiot was trying to tell me a quattro doesnt have enough power to drift when I told him he should buy it to revive his drifting fleet
as sometimes you just cant fix stupid, mind you an elise would smoke it from what the specs look to be
Thanks for the insight.
Fact #11 they actually did use a very large shoehorn to get TS into the car
lol 😉
Indeed so, Mr. Duke! 🙂
3:27 $82,900 for a 308 depending on condition, historically, $25,000 via Forza Magazine 1999
Yeah, values of pretty much any classic these days is through the roof unfortunatly.
First ferrari i got to drive was a 308 GTB
Nice 😉👍
0:44 how did the producers switch to the 308 _qv_ Ferrari, and we went with it...?¿ I do not recall getting an explanation for the switch over to cars with *_black_* louvers, instead of *red* , but, yeahhhh.,.
Most viewers, non-car guys that is; wouldn't even notice or care really.
Welcome back my friend! 👊👍💪
Howdy. Yeah, I managed to get my monetization back last night at least, so hopefully I'll be posting more often in the future again 😉👍
From what I've read, the 308/328 was pretty miserable to live with on a daily basis. The footwell was way too cramped (you needed tiny feet in order to fit), the pedals were situated too far to the right (in order to clear the left front fender well, which intruded significantly into the passenger compartment), and the HVAC system may as well been left off. Still...I think it's the prettiest of the mid-engined Ferraris. But boy, Selleck was definitely too tall for the car. Most of the shots, his head is sticking up above the windscreen header! 🙂
Indeed and well said 😉👍
0:36 huh. I always thought the license plate said ROBIN1… I guess I better start watching reruns again 😕
Yeah it was Robin1 as I talked about a bit later in the video, not sure why it was a standard tag for that one scene though, it was probably just in the pilot episode only or something.
@@CarStarz42I guess it was just the pilot episode that had it, and then it changed to ROBIN1 after…
@@Fabulousprofound168 Indeed 😉
Slow or not, this is still the only Italian car I really want to own. This show is 100% to blame.
Lol, indeed 😉👍
No ya don’t it’s hard to find people to work on it, but several TH-cam videos helps.
@RoeVenturesLLC I've been a mechanic for 20 years and a nearly 50 year old Ferrari design isn't anything out of my realm. Now, acquiring the parts for it here in the US...that maybe a different situation that I wouldn't want to tackle.
@@RoeVenturesLLC I bet.
@@AliceEmpireBreadfan Understandable indeed.

@@CarStarz42 That's really encouraging news. I wish you all the best and hope to see more vids going forward. i still check rumble by the way. Best Regards Jeremy
@@jeremymorrison3494 Thanks, yeah I'm pretty stoked about it; going forward I'll just post any new videos on both platforms I suppose. Rumble is great, but you just can't earn much on there compared to TH-cam. I had all my videos on there for like 3 months and made less than 20 bucks 😬
@@CarStarz42 wow, that is not much at all
GM was sued by ferrari for making kit model 308 .some still exist today
They are a sue happy company for sure.
Those cars didn't really have any HP. My Cummins diesel has more HP
Well, yes, but that's like comparing apples and oranges there; two very different vehicles 😉
It was a different time back in the 80’s. Today a Toyota Camry hybrid makes this kind of power 🤷♂️
Not particularly fast or powerful, but it looks so good it doesn’t really matter.
@@Fabulousprofound168 Indeed
@@Fabulousprofound168 Yep, sad but true.
