- Never have I been as crushed as when the trolley jack slipped and my beautiful Ferrari 308 fell and crushed the sill. Finally it is time to get that and other cosmetic issues dealt with. Plus other improvements that are actually making this cheap Ferrari a good car!

Indeed, Iain “The Carburettor Whisperer” Tyrrell will have it singing. His workshop is just a couple of miles down the road from me. Been on his test drive roads many times. Yet to see him passing the other way in some stunning classic.

Another great update on your 308! As a steering wheel is so tactile and personal DNA to you, I would get it re- leathered. Also keep the front deep spoiler, the earlier 308s sat lower. Another 308 problem is suspension knocking noise - that's the shock bushes failing - common but an easy DIY fix! Go well!

@@Number27 Restored two 308 GTB via Kent High Performance (not as brave as you to work on my own cars sadly). I have a 355 Spider but on the look out for another 308 GTB as I love them.

I am so pleased you have ended up with the car sorted and to your liking, its nice to see you enjoying it, the look on your face says it all. I always imagined the 308 could be this good. But wow what a journey for you, it must be so satisfying. You have the ultimate 308, its a GTS, carburetted, and all the little improvements you've done make it a very desirable car. Oh, and by the way, it sounds great, one of the best 308 sounds I have heard!!

It's nice to see you're happy with progress. Appearance wise the only thing that detracts for me now is the front number plate arrangement which has a temporary, diy look to it.

Great to see you're so happy with the changes, it looks like you've made some really significant improvements. Regarding the deep spoiler, it was a factory option. In my opinion it suits the car - mine had the same combo you now have with deep front spoiler and nothing at the rear. If you contact Ferrari heritage they will confirm the exact spec your car was supplied with.

Jack, you've definitely made this YOUR car. The little details, as well as the some quite major upsets, you have overcome and personalized and improved it to YOUR tastes.You get where I'm coming from here? Keep it! You know what's been done ,what's not, why pass on the improvements to someone else? I know you like to experience different cars, but I personally think this should be a keeper! Great to see the work you have done, I have a very different vehicle with a Land Rover Defender, but the small changes to steering wheels, seat position etc, do transform the way a vehicle feels to drive as much as suspension changes and engine mods. Keep up the great work and hopefully get to see you and the car at some shows next year????

I can remember when I first saw a 308 in real life in the 80s at a car show, I was amazed at how small the car is, I loved it then and still do to this day it’s like the worlds best looking go cart

Its looking and sounding excellent now and it seems you've got it driving well too! I'm happy to see you reviving this Ferrari and going to Iain Tyrrell is probably the best move you can do to get the best from the motor. I'd thought it might have needed a full respray but by the looks of it the guy you found to do the bodywork and paint has done some good work.....when you think about selling I'd bite your hand off for an opportunity to make you an offer for the Influenza so give me a shout when that day comes please. In the meantime, enjoy the car, you deserve it for giving it the love it needed. 👍👏
Ha thanks GB - it does look good but yes there are some micro blisters around and eventually it could probably do with a full reliant. But really if kept in the dry it will be fine for years.

Dude you come a long way with the Influenzo . It's looking and sounding awesome and you tailoring it more to your preference . Selling would be a huge mistake as I think you bonding 😎. So often we put heart and soul into our rides then regret moving them on for the next desire . The Frogeye is another keeper ! Two wonderful cars you have tastefully made your own . Keep up with the channel, maybe focus on the two mentioned cars possibly tracing history a little more ? Buy yourself a little time till the bank balance is healthier and maybe do a Restomod on something like an Anglia 105 with zetec etc that could be an everyday car 👍
