    I used to watch "without a crystal ball" all the time but she started to sound sorta baseless (not sure if thats the right word) in some of her information. Or so insistent that it felt uncomfortable. I don't begrudge merri wanting to have a community and even charging but that's a lot of money. I don't think she is trying to start her own cult either, it's not like just because she was a polygamist she is going to start her own, how stupid is that?! She didn't start the other one, why would anyone believe without proof she will now?

    First off, I actually thought the rooster story was mean could’ve been kind of traumatizing for that little boy
    Second,, very proud of Meri Brown doing anything to get back on her feet -I agree she should probably do a better job with the new website but I love her idea of “Worthy Up” and the women’s community. I think it’s a great idea.

      I thought the rooster one was mean too, but mostly because dad is laughing at his kid and sharing it with the world like it was funny. You could see the rooster coming after him pecking him so it seemed that his fear was valid. It feels to me like trying to break a person's fear of dogs by putting him in an enclosure with a very reactive dog. 🤔

  • @mammahasspoken

    In the clip with the rooster, it wasn't the chickens that were the problem but the rooster itself. Some roosters can be very territorial and no matter what, that rooster is going to come after you and attack you. I had one that would come full force at me with his talons ready to take me out. Won't matter what I did to the rooster, it will do it every time. Got to a point, I didn't go into the chicken run without a shovel to hit it on the head. Still didn't stop the rooster and we ended up having to cull him. Dad is an ass in that clip and doesn't understand that the behavior of the rooster isn't going to change no matter what the son or him does to it.

      I honestly had to check to see who wrote this because it sounds almost exactly what I experienced growing up. We had 3 roosters in a batch of eggs. One was scared of us, one we would pet, and hold and was super friendly and the third was CRAZY. Chase us, attack us, and full on kicking, hitting him with various garden tools wouldn't stop him. They're equipped to defend and oh boy, some of them do.
      Also, what kind of Dad provokes son and animal to get into a situation where it's not helping son or rooster and is purely for his own enjoyment 🙄

    I’m officially a big fan of you (& of course Allison) The opening was FUNNY! I stumbled upon you over a year ago, maybe 2 on FB over sister wives and now I go to TH-cam and type your name in immediately. Hearing a psychologist just giggle and say “💩 on the internet”, was chefs kiss for me. What I admire most about you and Allison is the way you relate to the audience as yourselves first and then you can take parts and discuss from your clinical perspective but you’re also not afraid to admit your own feelings may not align. I guess you’re so human as opposed to many TV psych that sort of espouse but never come off the lingo or some who come off “judgey”. However, I’m against going “after” WOCB. I see people recommending she become a focus but I say she will never change her ways as it’s profitable for her so don’t become part of her story. I also like the perspectives on Pearl and meri, I’m not huge fans of either but you offer good points as to why people might see or do things differently without just putting them in a crazy category. Pearl and Meri are smarter and business savvy than most give credit for as content creators.

I wouldn’t pay Meri’s price tag until the program is more fleshed out…. But there are plenty of “influencers” making far more for much less “worthy” content. While I understand the point you were illustrating in regard to desensitization, the son’s fear is not totally unfounded. Roosters can inflict damaging, painful injuries (see internet for examples), they are fast & sneaky at times & often attack when your back is turned. People have lost their vision in one eye due to an attack. Young children or slow moving adults are particularly vulnerable. Speaking from experience here.

    • @PopPsych
      @PopPsych  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      If your fear is 'reasonable' given the danger - it's not a phobia. Flooding and systematic desensitization work because you are proving to the person than the fear is unfounded. If the kid's fear of the Rooster is appropriate given the danger, you wouldn't want to try and remove it.

She lies about having sources, makes up most of her content and is Basically an online troll of the entire Brown family. (And the Duggars and the Chrissleys, etc.) She is the laughing stock of TH-cam because she has no ethics. She is thin-skinned and petty, so she may come for you. Ok … I HAVE to comment on the chicken video. I have chickens and I have a younger son that is 11. Chickens themselves are fine… Roosters on the other hand 100% sense fear and if that kid stayed in the corner of that coop, he would have been attacked with talons that could severely puncture the kids legs. I get the kicking part… but I have both a male mini pig and rooster and they will go for weak individuals with zero authority. My son has also been taught by me (a female) to run at the rooster as well and double kick (like running in air) and flap his arms and go after him and then turn around and when he charges, turn fast and charge at him -doing the repeated motions. This emulates the animals attack behavior to see they won’t win. Same with my pig .. I’ll make the same sounds as him and charge on my hands and knees and my kids too to learn who’s in charge. Never hurting the animals though I promise. ❤

I thought the way the dad was laughing at the son was cruel. I tend to lean towards a softer, systematic approach with children to help them with their fears. I had seen WOACB video about Meri. Beyond the fact that it does not seem completed and thought out, Meri has shown herself to have a lot of issues which she is still dealing with. The rates seem high for a "promise" with no visible substance. Hopefully, she is creating a vehicle for a community to provide help to each other - she is obviously no expert!! When i first heard about her Worthy Up I, too, thought it could easily have been a Patreon she has quite a few followers that could join.
