Tom owes more than 50% of the mortgage, he took out a second mortgage to fund his bar. And although he says, he’s offered to buy Ariana out of the house, he does not have the money for that.
Yes, I wondered about that. I bet he expected Ariana to sell her half for a reduced price.
Not to mention the amount he offered was below market value.
I can't recall who theorised that Tom was hoping she'd take the offer of $3mil , sell the house, and then pay her, but it tracks..
Ariana has attitude for tom and I don't think she's purposely coming off like that to her about tom and tom has no remorse he hurt her
I think it’s unreasonable to throw a birthday party in a house when you and your roommate are not in a good place, especially because of something you did (just taking out the Ariana/Tom of it all). There are many places you can throw a party, including the nice hotel you were offering to pay for.
Exactly! completely disagree with David here. He gave her 1 day notice! AND he has 2 bars he should be able to have a party at or even the hotel room he offered to get Ariana, why couldn't he have had the party there? (hint: can't bug Ariana that way)

@ciaradwyer8869 well I believe the point was made the very next day when Anne was there having to clean up after the little get-together. That ended at midnight so that Ariana didn't have to deal with it when she got home. I just find it so unreasonable that people think after what he did to her that she is supposed to be accommodating to him with little to no notice.
I 100% agree that Tom bringing up suicide was manipulation. I had an immediate negative reaction because it is not genuine (of course IMO)
And the passing of his friend. Definitely weaponizing mental health but called Rachel selfish for checking into a facility to get help. Smh
I think, and I know they wouldn’t do this because they have a show they need to make… but when Tom said that, I think production should have stepped in and really assessed that statement. If he is going to make such a serious statement about suicidal ideation, then he should be assessed by a mental health provider and given treatment options. Or I guess they could have done that and we don’t know but I highly doubt it.
I just hate that it seems like he could just throw that down as a trump card of sorts and then walk away without any follow up given what a serious statement it is.

We all need to remember this, when filmed, was only 3 months after the affair came to light….not the year since when we ACTUALLY (finally) see the production now
This, i think, is why i am hating this season. It feels like we already know all of this and its a rerun. I was worried about this happening.
Raquel said on her podcast Tom wrote to her and asked her to leave the mental health facility, that she was too dependent on it, thats when she realised Tom didnt love her.

Completely agree about Scheana. She’s done my head in from season one. The constant neediness and desperation for attention, coupled with the constant flip-flopping with friends is a lot. It says a lot that she and Tom have always been tight. Two narcissists, they understand each other better than most.

Watching Tom with Lisa was one of the most disturbing scenes I’ve ever watched on any “reality” show. We’ve watched Tom throw crap at the wall, hoping something will stick, for years, but it’s become more noticeable since the scandal. In the final episode last season, Tom filmed scenes with Ariana, Schwartz, Rachel and Lisa. 4 very different scenes, but tailored to the person he’s filming with.
Ariana- started off smug, stoic, tried to control the convo until she got heated!
A- “I don’t want to hear about effing Raquel!! This isn’t about Raquel”
T- “YES IT IS!! You need to hear it”
When she said he got angry at HER after she discovered the affair, he just proved it there!
Schwartz- Apologetic, emotional, hugging Tom and sobbing. 🙄 Schwartz isn’t his usual sympathetic self and let’s Tom know, “it’s bad, you messed up, our business is taking heat” Sandoval’s reaction is a 180 and the so sorry & regret becomes, “just stay off social media” 🤔
Rachel- There are no words for this bc she was almost giddy, he couldn’t deliver his monologue because she couldn’t follow what he was saying. Total 💩 show, which is why he tried to get Bravo to let them reshoot the entire scene!!
Lisa- She wasn’t sympathetic, told him it wasn’t a hug worthy visit, the more stern she became, he tried to cry. Ending in a full emotional breakdown, hyperventilating in her window, until she finally did what he wanted her to do, come give him a hug and cry!! This worked so well he did it again season 11!!
Which brings us to episode 3, Lisa’s angry, Tom is irritated giving her reasons he’s been the victim, she lays blame back on him and, in true Tom fashion, he knows the only hope he has in getting sympathy from Lisa is to say he had thoughts of suicide a few months ago!!
BINGO!! He shut down the entire conversation with a single statement!!
If you can’t see how dangerously manipulative that man is, you’re his target audience!!

ABSOLUTELY agree!! Lisa lost her brother to it just a few years ago and it is my opinion that Sandoval said it only because he knew that would get to her. She then had something to manipulate (can't think of a better word) the women with via Lala & Scheana.
Tom absolutely was “playing the Suicide Card”, with Lisa Vanderpump!He knew it would work and he deliberately pulled it! He has done manipulating moves like that numerous times with her ; you saw his near supposed hysterical tears for what he had been caught doing when he went to visit LVP at her home during one of the last Episodes last year when the Affair came out in Season 10 . He displayed a crying fit in her living room where he had to go to the door and sink against it in hysterical tears because he was supposedly so hurt and so upset at what he had done…. Sandavol repeatedly tried those tears with the Cast at the Cast Reunion with far less winning emotions from anyone . Tom was barely able to work up his moaning part of his crying before everyone screamed out for him to stop the fake tears! It was so fake , his entire Reunion appearance was as fake as F*ck! He was terrible as an injured caring lover …just terrible but he kept trying and he used his “acting skills” often with Lisa over Season 1 to Season 10 when it was needed to get what he was trying to achieve with LVP… Tom narsissistic tendencies were there since the beginning but they have gotten much worse as he became such an intense drinker and drug user , he used psychedelic ( mushroom tea) to trip often and it was even shown a few times on the show , once Marijuana was legalized and everyone in the cast was shown getting Medical cards, it was spoken of more but never actually shown. The drinking of “mushroom tea” and tripping with Schwartz …. that was a big part of an Episode last year while the Tom’s “deep dived” trying to get ideas for the new bar and their other Partner, Greg Morris! The fact that “the
Tom ‘s” tripped on camera was just another way of Sandavol being his “ MOST EXTRA!” even on camera to the entire country … I was surprised Bravo actually put it on camera for the VANDERPUMP Rules Episode and that they, “The TOMS” were so proud that they thought that “deep diving” for good business ideas was a wise and practical idea! Frankly more and more on camera drinking of a shot , a beer and a hard liquor on ice all at the same time was shown more and more often whenever Sandavol was near liquor whether it be at his home , someone else’s apartment or one of the bars Tom-Tom’s or Sandy & Schwartz bar in the making … he was always chugging back … I should have included at SUR & Pump bar too … Sandavol openly on camera became a very heavy drinker - you didn’t used to see him sneak a shot or sip of something at Sur as he Bartended , Kristen as a waitress did it or Jax bar tending did it too , but not Sandavol. But more recently, he became openly and always chugging this shot of cold tequila and then an entire beer guzzled down then washed them both down with straight tequila on ice in a rocks glass ! I don’t know why he allowed himself to start looking like an alcoholic drinker to me … and from family I knew exactly what multiple family members with horrible years of too much alcohol looked like… Sandavol was worse on camera than Schwartz but they both were not the type that ought to own bars that’s for certain ! They were always drinking on the job and as management felt entitled to it yet god forbid the staff do it … and sad thing there is I think they even were lenient with that and you can’t have staff drinking in a bar or night club -they just can’t ! If Management and the Owner doesn’t enforce it , who willi?
You do realize they are filming only two months after all this happened. Ariana has every right to be mad and not so accommodating to Tom.

The assistant may just be used to being treated poorly by people she works for/serves. Plenty of people work for people who treat them like trash. If that wasn’t the case, Donald Trump would have zero employees.

I don’t blame Ariana for her feelings towards Schwartz. She thought he was her friend too, and yet he conspired willingly with Sandoval all of season 10 to make her the villain so when Sandy finally dumped her for Raquel the viewers would blame her. And he knew about the affair from the beginning and said nothing and let her be humiliated on national TV. And now wants to be pals! He can “sounds like duck” off.
Ariana said herself she wouldn’t be surprised if everyone turns on her this season. We shall see. So far I think she’s on point. He had his party in his house in the end. So she gave in. Watch this space

As long as Schwartz is ride or die for Sandoval, and allows himself to be manipulated to follow his lead KNOWING ITS WRONG, he will get in trouble in other relationships.
Adding to that, he conspired with Sandoval & Rachel to absolutely mind duck Katie. Schwartz is just as bad as the others, but he comes with this golly gosh guys, I’m just so sweet an innocent act, when coupled with how blatantly terrible Sandoval is, people forget how awful Schwartz is. But his mask slips from time to time.
People don’t like when boundaries are set, and kept. That’s why people might not have as much empathy for Ariana for much longer.

So apparently Ann (the assistant) is closer to Ariana and she knows Ariana’s anger isn’t directed towards her. I think that’s why they’re both smiling and Ariana’s reaction is just unfiltered bc of the comfort level as well Ariana’s personality can come off as snobbish or rude. But Ann’s made statements to media’s that Ariana’s tone or otherwise doesn’t offend her as she knows her on a personal level and has referred to her as close as her family. I’m not excusing Ariana bc I do think her attitude is a little stank at times but Ann has gone out of way to defend her so I’m sure it’s not as big of deal as people are making it which is pretty standard for media’s.
also.. isn't Ann now working for Ariana and not Tom.. Pretty sure if she was giving Ann a shitty attitude Ann wouldn't want to work for her...

Just so you know Toms assistant quit and followed Ariana to NYC to work with her there as she’s working on Broadway in Chicago. So I don’t think they have a bad relationship at all. Now whether or not she goes back to Cali with her remains to be seen if Ariana goes back to the house

I think so too. I think he saw how Jax and Kristen were on the show while he started working there and has followed suite.
Sandoval was like a big brother to him for 9 yrs. He helped him pay for and arrange the extravagant engagement to Raquel, now Rachel. (May 2021) Then shortly after their engagement ends (Dec 2021) Sandoval is hanging out with Rachel and basically pushing James out of the friend group (and therefore out of his paycheck) and then started an affair with her. (They claimed it started Aug 2022) I think Sandoval owes him an apology. He chose a woman (James former fiance) over their friendship.
If Scheana was so worried about her daughter, she wouldn't have her own social media account. You have to protect your kids from the internet.

Tom manipulating Lisa by exploiting her brother's death, is classic Tom. He's manipulated the entire group for years using the same tactics, but he has owned Schwartz. Ironically, Schwartz would call Katie manipulative when he might as well have had puppet strings leading to Scumdaval. Arianna is reacting to the situation because this was filmed immediately after the situation. I thought to myself that the two who will turn on Arianna will be Sheena and Lala...both can't stand anyone else to get attention, because they see it as their attention.
James staying so pressed about Sandoval cracks me up so badly because, if anything, it rebalances the scales between them, given that James came onto the show by sleeping with Sandoval’s ex.
As for Scheana, unsuccessfully grasping for attention has literally been her plot line since the second scene of the first season. I say the second scene only because the show began with that RHOBH crossover scene with Brandi that was all about Scheana’s bad behavior.
I honestly still can’t be mad at Ariana for insisting that Tom move out. It’s petty, sure, but I feel like it’s the closest he could ever get to actually admitting he did wrong in a way that does not include statements or behavior that undermines the message. So I get why she is taking a hard line stance. And given the situation, when she clearly wants to scream at his requests for parties and such instead of just moving out already, I think she’s doing a pretty good job of moderating her responses to calm-ish statements for the assistants’ sake. Ideal, no, but that’s the situation Tom created. He’s the one pushing the limits and shoving his assistant into that position, so he’s ultimately responsible for any discomfort that results.
That said, it makes me sad to see Ariana taking a page from the early seasons Witches of WeHo playbook now she treats other people. It’s time for the show to evolve into a different thing from that early season nonsense. It was fun at the time (and I bet producers are nudging her in that direction) but we’re all older now.
He was 21 when sleeping with Kristen big difference between 21 and 40 sneaking around for 8 Mos.
The scandal broke 3 months (March 2023) before filming (Jun 2023) and she's being mean to both of the Toms. Schwartz participated in Sandoval's mission to try to make her look like a bad gf while knowing about the affair. She was Schwartz "Best Man" at his wedding to Katie so they were close, at least at one time. By inviting Sandoval (likely prompted by Lisa) he is forcing Ariana to hang out with him or be left out. Not going on a trip means she may not get paid for the episode because they're not going to film her alone (this is why Katie went to Mexico for Scheana's wedding trip). Luckily Katie stayed behind and also didn't go to Lake Tahoe so they will likely still get air time.
Would you be surprised to hear that Ann has said she doesn't feel Ariana was rude to her at all & the reason she was always apologizing is because she is team Ariana

I just rewatched the earlier seasons and man Ariana was really in love with that man, he really did hurt her. During season 4 she was crying to him about her father that passed and him basically the only person she trusts. It’s so sad to see how a person can turn on you and people expect you to get over it because you’ll be labeled as bitter. When that’s exactly how she should be feeling and acting after it being so fresh ON TV! Not even to add with a good friend

Agree. Ariana would ALWAYS defend Tom. Even when he was cheating and people were coming to her, she believed him. I think Ariana left a very emotionally abusive relationship and then got together with Sandoval. He made her feel special. Rachel was in an emotionally abusive relationship and then got with Tom. His prey are vulnerable and fragile females who are desperate to feel seen, heard, and valued. Until he moves onto the next one and treats his exes like they are insane. Sad history, Ariana was blind to him and was his ride or die defender.

I personally think it’s lazy on the behalf of other women to dismiss her feelings and call her down.
Super low energy, requires little to no thought and I feel like it speaks to how self aware they are and if they have the capacity and courage it takes to look inside themselves.
Schena has had OCD for the a while, like since season 1. It's something she talked about in her first marriage. It's always been such a struggle for her. She is a pick me and it makes me wonder how critical her home life was growing up.... the anxiety is giving "I was never good enough" which is in line with a 'pick-me'
I agree with this because in the episode where scheana, brock,her mom and her friend were in the living room talking about Scheana's daughter summer moon, her husband Brock was getting upset because she can never just trust her instincts as an amazing mother and is always seeking approval from HER MOTHER or OTHER FAMILY members instead of scheana trusting herself and her husband as parents.
Then she started crying and whining per usual for scheana.
Her home life/ child hood must have been very critical and anxiety ridden, that's why she is a pick me.
@@jasmyneperryman9629 that's the scene where I was like... oh shit... Schena's mom is Schena's inner voice... Schena never had a chance... poor girl. I just don't like her mom's vibe at all. Extremely invalidating. That's probably why she's a pick me... if someone has a mental health disorder, telling them to just relax, or get over it, actually makes everything worse and causes a person not to trust their instincts. Which is when life becomes tough to navigate.

Tom‘s assistant Ann who has resigned from being his assistant now has her own podcast called. I signed an NDA has said that she did not feel Ariana was rude and she actually has a good relationship with Ariana and makes it clear that she is totally team Ariana.
In fact, I hear she’s actually working for Ariana now, and is in New York with her as an assistant, I haven’t been able to confirm that yet, but I have heard it from several other Podcasters just an FYI

The Ann situation is on Tom. He's trying to use Ann to get what he wants from Ariana. Ann is another one of his proxies. Ariana has to hold the line because otherwise Tom will try to run her over again. He's a coward who throws Ann in the line of fire, but Ariana is firm but polite.
Raquel should remember that Tom felt that way about Ariana at first as well.
So Ariana's distain for Schwartz--this was filmed 3 months after she found out he literally allowed Tom and Rachel use his apartment for their tryst, used the fabricated kiss narrative to hide her actual affair with Tom and also followed along with Toms on camera narrative (only when Ariana isn't around) of how much he is trying to be a great partner to Ariana but she is just so horrible ...whats a poor grown up boy suppose to do🤷♀ storyline. I can tell you that 3 months after finding that out I would be alot ruder than Ariana was!
James’ biggest issue is - he was marginalised by the group which led by Sandoval to hide the affair which could have been going on a lot longer than we know of. Last season while Raquel was sleeping with Tom she was feeding back information about the group to James. He felt that he was replaced by his ex when he was the one that introduced her to the friend group in the first place. That was intentional by Tom.
Also, how is everyone forgetting that Tim planned AND paid for James and Rachel’s engagement, ffs?!

You need to remember that this started filming so very quickly after the affair came out, so Ariana was still brand new raw.
Ariana didn't actually say anything about the whole group though and who can or can't go on the trip, I'm not sure why people seem to think she was 🤔
They are creating their own narrative because society SAYS they want to see a woman win but when she actually does, they feel the need to smack her back down and into “her place.”
All Ariana has done is set and stick to her very reasonable and understandable boundaries.
She has literally done nothing wrong and people are upset because the Toms are squirming and uncomfortable, as they should be…
Also, Sheana has ALWAYS been this way. Everything has to always be about her. I don't understand how she gets friends due to the way she acts. Every season her loyalty drifts to whoever is popular/ is the main story line.

Tom has always showed a different side of himself when he talks to Lisa because he knows she’s very caring and gullible to a very serious subject like suicide since she went through it with her brother.
The issue for me is he continually goes on interviews and podcasts, and shows a completely different side of himself, a good example is the Vial files, so it’s hard to take him seriously when he shows vulnerability of wanting to go somewhere, that’s very dark, so I appreciate your explanation. I really enjoy your recaps.
Anne works for Ariana now it’s a reflection of how Tom is poking Ariana and Anne knowing she’s being tasked to deliver the poke.
Have you listened to Rachelles podcast….she exposed that Tom was trying to convince her to leave treatment even though she expressed that she had dark thoughts about ending herself there, this is how she realized he really didn’t love her.

The first time I was away from my 3 kids was a weekend trip i took with my mom and sister. That was when my oldest was 16 and my other two were 14 and 11. I always felt I should never be away from them. But it was so good for me. You want to be the best mother you can be. But you can not do that if you don't take care of yourself. a break from taking care of everyone else and just worrying about yourself even for two days is important. Love all your videos
I appreciate the perspective of the Scheana Tom exchange and its very logical in those terms. I think Scheana was thinking more about the bigger picture of the years they had been close and that at some point Tom would acknowledge her sympathies. Having said that, I agree that its being blown up for a story, same as James. James is hurt that Tom bypassed the whole bro talk about being with his ex because it was an affair.
I think you’re always spot on and it’s satisfying to hear you verbalize with clarity what i feel about a particular character, but, can’t quite appropriately articulate myself. I did not pick up that Ann was rude to Ariana. It felt like Ariana was expressing anger strictly at Tom and Ann is in the unfortunate receiving end of Ariana’s disgust at Tom, but, seems aware that it is not directed at her. She did accept her position knowing the circumstances and must have understood Ariana would feel and express animosity. I had a visceral reaction to Ariana speaking for the group! She seems to have gotten on her high horse and I don’t think this route is going to play out well for her. This group particularly does not want anyone expressing thoughts and feelings for them that they may not actually have!
Tom's assistent is fully #teamariana so I think its editing that is making it look like Ariana is dismissive of Ann
I'll say this about James, He has grown sooooo much since he started the show. Back in the day he would have started a fight with Tom (likely physical). The fact that he told Tom he wouldn't engage in an argument and camly left? Yes he peed on the pushes, but still, huge growth.

Ariana and Anne the assistant have a great relationship. She went to support her at dwts and is now her assistant and no longer working for Tom if I've heard right... that animosity was directed towards Tom not Anne and I'm pretty sure Anne knew that.
I disagree with people’s comments on his suicide intentions. Strongly!Because I was where Tom was. Different situation of course , but when Tom was talking I was bawling. I had people say how could she be , she acted so normal, she was having fun etc. I was in such a dark place but I was too proud to ask for help. It sounds so stupid. But that was my facade, my mask, keep smiling , I couldn’t let anyone see how deeply I despised myself. And then when I finally broke thank god I phoned someone.

Here's why.....Nobody should ever entertain a comment on anyone claiming that someone's suicidal thoughts are an excuse to seek sympathy. 2 weeks ago I posted about viewers being extremely disrespectful and arrogant about how I asked if any of them could live with themselves if Tom were to take his life, and the reply was very unsettling. Arianna has malicious vindictive ways, which at almost every turn Tom makes, turns into a competition. No party or I'm calling the cops, If you're socializing with Tom we can't be friends, Sur the establishment LV owns can't be a hangout spot for Tom. (So she thought)....No matter what avenue Tom takes, it's not going to be the right one, as far as Arianna goes. So when will it end? Tom looks exhausted depressed disheveled and lost, but it's an act for sympathy? This is truly disturbing.

James is a problematic person in general but i think he feels truly betrayed. Tom helped set up James’ proposal and paid a LOT of money to make it extra special.
As for Ariana, it’s worth knowing that in between the reunion and filming starting up again she had to see Schwartz participate in Sandoval tearing down her character. She saw how much/how early he knew. She learned that Schwartz let Tom bang Rachel at his apartment. Her understanding of the depth of his betrayal of their friendship is really raw here.

She's frustrated, give her a break. also, Tom can move out, and Tom might be even more full of himself than Kody Brown. Is that even possible? Keep in mind, this was filmed not quite 3 months post break-up. I think the answer is no, because in the past, Arianna was the one that got stuck cleaning up after his parties. She has tried to sell the house, she is gone a lot, and the house is like 4,300 sq ft.

Second - I agree with everything except for your take on Ariana and Schwartz. Schwartz hides behind the doofus puppy dog routine but IMO he’s worse than Sandoval. He has been incredibly disrespectful to every single female cast member, but weirdly deferential to the men. In past seasons he’s been incredibly mentally abusive towards Katie, and nearly physical, dumping a drink on her head.
Schwartz provided cover to Sandoval’s affair from day 1 and participated in trying to make the audience believe Ariana was the problem in the relationship. IMO he deserves all of Ariana’s wrath.
I agree with almost everything you said but I think there's information you aren't aware of. Especially with Ariana. Like others have said this was filmed just a few months after it all came out. She was still learning about a lot of the betrayal not just by Tom but also Schwartz. Schwartz betrayed her as well and actively participated in trashing her and making her into this horrible person on camera just for Tom. Schwartz has been telling Tom that he needs to just say sorry and that's it, no buts. What he can't see is that he does the same. He did it to Katie for years. He doesn't get the answer or response he wants and he goes for the jugular and then he immediately goes back to being goofy and what I call the aww shucks Schwartz. You also point out that Ariana is being difficult and in a way petty when it comes to the house. The party thing is a trigger for her because of what he would put her through when he did have parties while they were together. He would have them till 6am and the neighbors would complain to her. You never gave her any credit for compromising and allowing him to have it but only for a small number of people and agreeing to have everyone out by midnight. These are just a few differences that I disagree with you on but otherwise spot on. Have a great day.
well said. I think society is showing us how blindly people favor the male perspective and expect the females to be diminished bystanders. This season is showing females to be upstanders until production intervenes. I would love to hear some perspective on that. Boundaries are VERY important in mental health.
All the females on the show are in therapy actively trying to make better choices. However, production (LVP) gives the storyline to the boys on the show and their theatrics (Sandoval/Schwartz/Jax/James). The scene with Scheana and Lala feeling so hurt and betrayed by LVP for diminishing their realities in order to cater to Tom's ego is an example.
The men are rewarded for being a**holes and the women are demeaned into being petty and b*tchy. At least the females and James are growing. Production has ruined Vanderpump Rules this season - let the females be empowered and grow. Tom is production's problem, not the female cast members. LVP is the biggest hypocrite of them all - she just wants to be ogled and obsessed about. The girls are competition to her vanity and ego. It shows.

Anne (Tom's FORMER assistant) has talked in her podcast about how Ariana has always been totally sweet to her and that this was literally the ONE time that she ever spoke to her with a little bit of a negative tone and the negativity was not pointed at her it was towards Sandoval and she knows that. In tact when Ariana was on Dancing with the Stars Anne was in the audience AND there's a picture of Anne on her IG wearing a cheerleader uniform and it says in block letters on her shirt "TEAM ARIANA". So Ariana was not "being mean" to Anne ... she was really only mad at Sandoval and Anne knows that :)
Oh and I also heard that Anne is now working for Ariana. I don't know if that's true but it's possible :)

We are perhaps seeing the true Tom so imagine this is what Arianna lived with for years. She suffered inher mental health for years. now that weight is gone I can imagine she is trying navigate these changes, plus the break up. No one is perfect. Schaena has said she understands why tom blocked her, because she bashed him.

I think Arianna made out very well with this thing… She made over $1 million, she was on Dancing with the Stars and countless other promotions and money making ventures. She opened up her own business etc.… It has come out that first of all her and Raquel we’re not best friends, that was BS… They were friendly on the show and they never, not once hung out outside of the show so that wasn’t a real thing… Also many people have come forward and said that Tom tried to break up with Ariana multiple timesbut she would throw a fit and just wouldn’t let it happen, they had not had sex in almost a year they basically were platonic roommates… Was it still a wrong thing to do?… Did Ariana end up on top and make tons of money off of it? Absolutely… Tom and Raquel are absolutely hated… But honestly enough is enough… They didn’t even have a real relationship.

Those are things that Tom put out about their relationship and Rachel said the thing about them not being close. Others in the group have come out to say that they actually did hang out and I believe there were pics posted of them actually together outside the show setting. I feel like the truth is somewhere in the middle.

I’m surprised you didn’t point out how triggered Tom was after James left. Going on and on about what James & Kristen having sax over 5 years prior! He spoke to both Billie Lee & his Manager rather graphically. Almost all of the guests were people on Tom’s payroll.
this podcaster seems a bit subjective and focusing on what mainstream media is talking about. If he was objective, he would have learned more about what Ariana was like before the relationship ended. Not doing his homework shows.

I get what you’re saying about the group shouldn’t judge Schwartz not ratting Sandoval out. But I think their disgust with him is from watching him facilitate Sandoval maligning Ariana and their relationship. When they watched him practically read lines from the Sandoval ‘Justify my cheating on Ariana saying she’s mean’ script made me sick and he’s not my friend or ex-husband. They watched this in between regular filming last and this season only three months before.
@@HK-wv4hr True- he tried to play it too supportive of all sides at the beginning. No doubt. But watching recently it feels like he has learned a bit from his mistakes. I do like that he will flat out tell Sandoval he’s wrong and that he needs to accept responsibility and apologize and not make excuses. It’s clear he is someone that really hates conflict and is a people pleaser. My brother is a bit like that, but in a much gentler, kinder way so maybe I feel a bit of a soft spot as I don’t sense he is malicious. When I watched the Viall File podcast with both Toms I felt like knew he fuc*ed up and he called Sandoval out quite a bit. And Sandoval confirmed everything about himself in that podcast! It’s a good interview if you’ve not seen it.

I think James’s behavior is histrionic, but I also think that he is as aware that he’s on a show and he’s being a little bit theatrical. It’s a little weird that Sandoval paid for James’ engagement to Raquel two seasons ago, so I can see why James would’ve felt betrayed by Tom hooking up with her shortly after.

Thank you about James. That's been my impression for some time. He has a weird background his father being 'interesting' and mom a former alcoholic, and Lisa, who knows them, in the role of a quasi foster parent.
I've notice, Sheena frequently treat cast members without status, or those on the outs with the current favorites, pretty badly. If Sheena perceives she has the upper hand (more power or control), her behavior resembles that of a mean girl.
I don't understand your remarks about Scheana dealing with postpartum OCD, and how she needs to get out more. Her daughter Summer Moon will turn 3 this April. I understand that postpartum depression can last up to a year after giving birth because I have a close friend who suffered with this problem. That's about 2 years too long for postpartum OCD in this case. You note that Scheana needs to get out, and do things. Just from watching the show, and watching her in social media, I don't see where she's ever at home just relaxing. She's constantly on the move. Scheana has shared her mental heath issues with the public, even before having her daughter. Now OCD has been added to the list. I think the problem is that her husband is unhappy to not be bringing in his own money, that Scheana is in the spotlight, that she's very busy, that her mother lives with them, and cares for the child, and most importantly that Scheana highly values her mother's opinion, love, and support and Brock feels left out. So, they argue, he gaslights her about everything mentioned above because he's jealous...she goes to the Doctor because she feels it's all her fault they're having marital problems , and the Doctor tells her she needs medication for OCD in addition to everything she's been prescribed. Now, just to cause more problems we throw a young nanny into the mix. Brock can tell her what to do because the girl is clearly young, and wants to be on the show. I doubt he tells Scheana's mother what to do. I also seriously doubt the girl longs to be anyone's nanny. Supposedly she's a model, an actress, and a singer. The girl wants to be on the show. New story line. I think this girl is going to become an issue. Maybe Scheana's mother needs to have her own place, and visit less. Maybe they need a professional au pair, or nanny. Not - Suzy Q. the glorified babysitter with dreams of celebrity. Or, maybe Brock needs to grow up, get a real job, and try and figure out himself, and how to reconcile with his two older children not cause Scheana additional mental health issues.
Spot on for all of it. I do think the elephant in the room currently is that they’re all aspiring celebrities. They basically get paid to create, perpetuate, and comment on their dumb drama. It’s why the show feels so gross, they’re 30 -40 year olds trapped in high school. None of them ever focus on the greater good for their friends, instead they seem to revel in the scandals and misery of each other. I’m astounded that not one of them has used this platform for any kind of charity, real world human need, or to benefit others. It’s pretty much disgusting.
Doc , David… How did you miss the Zoloft comment by Scheana? I’m a 69 yo woman with a pronounced hearing loss in both ears and I heard her telling Ariana , I think it was when they met to get massages; “I’m not drinking alcohol and this is three weeks now that I’ve been on Zoloft”. As I remember from thirty years ago during my divorce , it was suggested I might want to try it .. I pretty sure this Prescription medication was an anti-depressant …. I chose nothing and was eventually just fine. So if that’s what you meant , Scheana is taking an anti-depressant , she is seeing a therapist for that medication and not drinking under the advise of the therapist -atleast she said for 6 weeks she wasn’t going to drink and she was at a 3 week mark then. …. I heard that all during during the early part of that episode , where were you ? Probably composing your spot-on notes about most of your other remarks…. Anne the Assistant was hired as this “Messenger/Assistant person” so she knew what she was getting paid for when she accepted the position and had been around for 2-3 years previous to the Affair… then she recently left Tom and moved to NYC… to be Ariana’s Assistant while she is on Broadway doing Chicago… now heard she couldn’t take the pace of NYC and moved back to LA.

Lots of good stuff discussed here. A few things stick out though : you said you were liking Ariana less and less …women are always discussed as less-likable, bitter, b*tchy, etc, when they enforce personal boundaries; VPR production has a lonnnnng history of misogyny, including where the women are villainized so the men can have a more convincing and (seemingly) justified redemption arc; context is important … this was filmed not long after the show was televised, and Ariana would have been observing and learning more details of affair and deception, which means opportunity for new trauma; Ariana and Ann are very close, and were long before the affair, so what we’re seeing isn’t a fair representation of Ariana or the relationship; Ariana’s so-called ‘Queen Bee’ behavior was Ariana drawing a line to say that no one is entitled to reconciliation, and the redemption arc isn’t going to fly this time. Also, ’Queen Bee’ is a tricky term because it usually refers to a pattern of behavior among women that arises in situations where patriarchal norms dominate, and men have the upper hand, and it references how women react to other women in response to decisions made and actions done by men that impact them directly, but they often have little power to impact or control, and any amount of control among women becomes complicated …so the term comes with a lot of negative connotations and implications.
You should listen to Ariana’s friend, Brad’s interview with Nick Viall. He describes how awful Tom was to Ariana having a few of her friends over in the days immediately following the discovery of his affair. And they weren’t partying. They were there to make sure she’d eat, and get some rest, and basically function to stay alive during her depression. He’d yell at all of them - including Ariana - and threaten to rip the TV off the wall. So, yeah…F Tom Sandoval.
