Bob The Doge i love the tech in the game and its good for speedrunning but one reason people don't speedrun it a lot is because it is hard to record also the fact that you have to keep your tanooki suit for the whole game.

10: Not hard, just confusing. Enemies pose little threat and the checkpoint also is pretty cool. Plus the jingles is you got it wrong or right definitely help out.
9: I don't find it that difficult. It's hard, but not top 10 hard.
8: Agreed. Falling is a not an issue, but because I have to wait a smidge to see the right platforms, it leaves all the time in the world for that dastardly Cosmic Clone.
7: Eh, it's not that hard. More often than not, it's the 2nd half that gets me because sometimes I jump when the L-platforms shake, losing my momentum and ultimately resulting in my death.
6: Yeah, it's really freaking hard to do. Te first half I can do without issue, but the 2nd half with the flophoppers often gets me killed. However, something that makes it easier is a secret star on the small platform with the two coins. It'd be much harder without it.
5: It all comes down to the last 3rd with those Magikoopas and spikes on the platforms. I swear, I almost ALWAYS get hit there, and that fight make me lose my balance and fall off. Other than that, it's the autoscrolling, but that's my impatience rather than fact.
4: My favorite level in the game. The entire stage is fun, intense, and that Bower Battle is amazing. And he's not even gigantic this time!
3: Agreed. Cosmic Clone is a pain here and that last part to get to the flag gets me often, sometimes making me fall off the platforms into the wood or the abyss below.
2: I actually find this easier than #5. There's really no reason to slow down here, so Cosmic Clone isn't a huge threat. The last part gets me a lot though. The platforms are almost as fast as you and when you're on a platform that spins opposite of where you want to go, it can be painful to complete.
1: I CAN'T BEAT THIS THING (Without the Tanooki Suit, that is)
For that final spinning platform, I used a rolling long jump. Which in this game, is broken.

It was not *ridiculously* easy, but it wasn't as hard as other "secret final levels" in other Mario games like Galaxy and 3D World.

What made me find number 10 kind of difficult when I first played it was not getting lost but trying to find the star coins in the level. This is the only level in the entire game that has you having to defeat enemies to get star coins
9:25 Mario galaxy 1? I Think you mean Galaxy 2. The first galaxy game had a really easy star at the end Where you collect purple coins at Peach's Castle.. As far as I know its imposssible to die.
Maxman966 It's actually possible to die in the Galaxy 1 final level, by burning on the fireplace where the Toad Brigade is
The game was pretty easy overall.
In S5-5, if you see a coin right next to the warp box, that will give you a hint.

S5-5: not hard at all because you just have to follow the warp boxes next to the coins.
S8-2: agree, but using a Tanooki results in the level being not too hard.
S4-2: agree; the Cosmic clone is a pain to avoid.
S7-3: not too hard; the jumps are easier than you think, and the Fuzzies are not too hard to avoid.
S6-4: agree big time!
S7-5: agree.
8-Castle part 2: The part before the boss isn't too hard, but the fight is definitely hard.
S7-4: definitely agree. This should be #2!
S8-5: this has around the same difficulty as S7-5.
S8-Crown: this is the hardest level.
S8-Crown is a piece of cake for me. The stone leaf is your savior. Wall jump in front of the gap of the 2D section behind the first paragoomba. Run to the right side then jump and float to the pipe, stay on the switchboard in stone form. After you get off, just keep jumping then floating until the you enter the warn box. You can stay on the lift platform or float across each letter.(Your choice) Make sure to have two stone leaves just in case. Like I said, do THIS and this level's a joke, but that doesn't mean it's not fun. I always loved to speedrun this level and challenge myself to get the fastest time.😁😉 Who knows, try it out for yourself and let me know what all of you guys think of this strat.

S5-5 (the first one) can be super easy if you follow the coins...
Totally agree with your comments about the Bowser battle mirroring that of a super hero battle. The way the camera moves and the music of course just amplifies its intensity.

The depth perception is really funky in Mario 3d land.

I beat this game's final stage about a 2 years ago before I beat The Perfect Run and Champion's Road! It was insanely hard, but I beat it! Good luck, Nate! You'll beat this stage eventually!

Finally is see someone who agrees with me, the part with the swinging spike bars is insane.
I completed this whole entire game! I did the special 8 crown with Luigi and Mario with the gold pole! I have 100% it.
Now that we know the hardest 3D land stages, maybe we can find out the hardest 3D world stages. And I would probably know what #1 is. We would all know

@@somepersonmcsomebody7501 3D Land is honestly ass. Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 were amazing realeases, for a game like 3D Land to come out after Galaxy series is disappointing and a HUGE step down. Like for real, 3D World for the Wii U is what 3D Land should've been.
Also, the design and overall feel of this game is just downright boring, and has nothing interesting to offer.
I dont like this game much anymore, the only reason why I have it and will never trade it in is becuase it's fun to Speedrun lol

I remember playing the game and honestly I remembered how much fun I had playing it and the Boomerang power-up though I never heard of the 4-4 ghost nor the 1-3 UFO.

Well, seeing footage of 3D Land several years later I must say, 3D land realy was a fun game to play. And a complete different game than 3D World. I think I'm gonna play 3D Land once again!
I have to agree with you, the final Bowser fight in this game is really underrated imo. It's probably the most epic thing in the game, bar beating S8-Crown lol. Also, congrats on beating it NB!
There's not much to the fight beyond just a straight up Mario vs Bowser battle, but it doesn't need it. The chase is epic and tense enough on it's own, especially when he starts shooting the purple fire. As wacky and over the top as 3D World's final boss was it was pretty boring gameplay wise due to how slow the autoscroll was so I prefer this fight.
S1-2 was pretty life-burning
My favourite part about the final Bowser fight was the Donkey Kong reference. I've beaten S8-Crown a few times but I always have to bring 2 stone leafs to do it.
I remember thinking that one level that was cookie themed was hard, but I wasn't ready for S8 Crown it took me at least a week to beat it but it was really fun

Cosmic clone + Pre-buffed level = absolute stress
Other tough stages (a Tanooki suit makes all of these easier):
S3-1 (The platforms move very fast, and if you miss you die.)
S3-5 (The timer between the blocks is ridiculously fast; even one mistake and you die.)
S4-1 (there are a ton of enemies and it is easy to fall off the platform; the first star medal in this level is the HARDEST in the game!!!)
S4-Airship (There are two tough boss battles and the star metals are hard to get.)
S6-5 (Not super tough but it has fog and lots of enemies and spiked plants.)
S7-2 (The blocks are hard to time and there is a Cosmic Clone; I died a lot in this level.)
S7-Castle (has a big cosmic clone and a time limit of 30 seconds; you have to have the cosmic clone destroy pillars; there is a hidden starman in this level.)
S8-3 (you have to have the cosmic clone destroy pillars; one of the pillars contains a star medal, and there are no power-ups in this level. This should be #10.)
S8-4 (There are 30 seconds, you must grab timers, and the are moving platforms in which if you make even one mistake, you die.)
S8-Castle (You have to kill Hammer Bros to get more time, make tough jumps, and battle Dry Bowser.)

I think S8-3 is 1 tough stage, a shadow clone with 30 seconds, star medals in risking spots. Hope you brought the tails to this stage.

I feel like the purple fireballs in S8-Final Bowser and 8-Final Bowser didn’t hurt you, but rather hurt things AROUND you, like the blocks.
This game needs to be more challenging, but I can agree that the cosmic clone keeps pressuring you to move because if you don't, it legit goes through you, so I had to retry some levels or SR because the cosmic clone basically made me so anxious that I couldn't get a star coin.
Number 8 is literally the summary of all the Cosmic Clone stars in SMG 1 and 2

Tip for the ghost house in S5-5 the coin leading up to the (!) teleporters is telling you which on is correct. For the crown level, I used the stone leaf Tanooki as Luigi and it was still really difficult.
The statue Tanooki leaf breaks S8-Crown last section with the green platform. You just go invincible whenever a fuzzy or fireball is coming.
#1 pissed me off so much! Last time I played it, I had a Tanooki Suit for a while as Luigi, but I beat it on my first try!

I agree that S8-crown is very hard. I had 400+ lives before playing it for the first time and went through over 200 of them before beating the level.
S3-5 sans Tanooki, took 25 lives. That beat is still in my head years later.
