I loved the game, but I felt they still made the special world and the final final test a lot easier than they used to. I was kind of hoping the extra levels to be a bit more challenging, like in 3d world, odyssey, galaxy, etc
@agustin47 I don't like the fact that in almost all modern Mario games, the developers create most of the game easy, and save the last couple levels for the challenge. In older classics, the games got gradually harder. Not easy until the last world. Nintendo seems to think that if they create the entire game towards 10 year olds and save the last 2 levels for veterans, then everyone's supposed to be happy. I'm not a huge fan of 3D Land for the 3DS but the developers did one thing right in that game. The main part of the game was pretty easy. Then they made 8 brand new worlds much more challenging for veteran players. THAT'S how they should do it.
I understand the frustration with easy levels from people who are good at video games. But as someone who is probably below average in terms of Mario skill, this game was really hard but still really fun. I love that Mario games can do that for me, it really encapsulates what I love about Nintendo and it’s accessibility to people who don’t play many other games.
I agree. For someone like me, who plays platforming games, I think Super Mario Bros Wonder has a good difficulty. Not too easy, but not too hard. It's somewhere around normal difficulty.
@@sarajadi8184 Game is fun so don’t care. At least you have to actually engage in the game unlike star allies. I love my ai partners killing bosses and enemy’s for me without touching them.

The bubbles in Way of the Goomba are random so you can just get screwed by bad luck at the end of the level no matter your strategy. Would've been a peak level if it weren't for that one issue.
It’s way worse in the Wonder Gauntlet. I don’t even know how you’re supposed to pop them without getting thrown into the lava, unless you use the elephant’s trunk.
For the wonder gauntlet, you can just chill on the edge of the inch-worm pipe and kill the birds that fly in your direct path when they get close, crouching with drill makes that section auto free.
Badge Marathon is undeniably #1 because it requires mastery of all the different badges to clear and there are only so many checkpoints.. but imo the next hardest stage is Climb to the Beat, because theres almost zero room for error at all and you cannot cheese the difficulty in any way. like power ups and most badges dont help at all. yoshi/nabbit doesn't help. other players wont have time to save you if you die, and being saved is useless cos of the rising lava anyway. standees barely help (one placed at the end can) either. you have to master the timed wall jumps in order to clear it like a combination of some of the things mentioned above actually make wonder gauntlet and even the badge marathon less hard.
That invisible part on the last level was the death of me. Glad that every 1.25 cycles, I would get one life back from coins. I do appreciate the bowser boss, was difficult, long, and different just like cat bowser on that final level.

I finished the 100% a few days ago and now all my fun with the game is speedrunning the last level. Finding optimisations for everyroom is really a lot of fun
Wonder Guantlet is probably the easiest of all the special world levels. You just have to hang out at the front or back of the crawling pipe. I used the bubble power up to protect against the the enemies, but it turns out you can use the drill power up and just duck down. The enemies fly into the drill and kill themselves. And the elephant could easily kill the enemies too because of it's speed and range of attack. After that, there is a hidden block with a drill power up in the path under there first 10coin. So if you didn't have the drill from the beginning, That drill lets you bypass every obstacle up to the missiles. By either jumping into the ceiling, the floor, or the living platforms you bypass everything. (And can still collect the second 10 coin without exiting the ground) And the at missiles and beyond it just gets easier. The missile jump just needs a solid start. You need to be cautious of the lightning in the floating boat section. And then the game literally rains down stars for a free ride to the end. If you use the drill power up, the level isn't even in the top 15 hardest levels.
With Yoshi or Nabbit you can’t take any damage, but they can die from pits, lava or poisonous goo. And Yoshi’s flutter jumps can be useful on the special world stages
@@cursedbeanboy142 I would argue it is slightly cheap putting the invisible badge platforming using those balloon guys at the very very end with the last checkpoint being 3 sections prior. Unless you play online it means you can't retry the section often, it takes like a 1-2 minutes at minimum between retries + as you get tired from retrying you'll die more just trying to reach it. It makes for a very good "last challenge" before you beat the level, but without online / cheesing using 2 player / emoting, it is just unenjoyable.
@dh3913 Eh, it's just a test of your ability to keep track of Mario. I beat it first try with no trouble because I am good at tracking Mario's location, similar to how someone who excels with the grapple vine would do well in that, or someone who excels with the spring badge would do well in that section. It's just another section with another badge you need to master. The only difference is that that badge is one that is mastered through understanding Mario's base movement rather than mastering a new move.
@@cursedbeanboy142 No I get how it’s a fair test of your ability, but as can be seen from internet comments the ability to track mario is seemingly the thing people struggle with the most. i'm gonna rank all the special world levels to the hardest 9) Bounce, Bounce, Bounce! Good list! Mario games aren't usually too difficult anyways, but this game felt like one of the easiest 2D Mario games to date (maybe with the exception of Super Mario Land 2). I really wish there were more levels on par with some of the Special World levels in the later worlds. The only level that gave me frustration initially was the final Badge Marathon. The game always felt like it was going a bit too easy on you and some badges made certain challenges a cakewalk. Most levels were also fairly short (which I know is a Mario tradition). I know Nintendo is catering to all skill levels, but I wish there was DLC pack that had more challenging levels (and the addition of unique and fun boss fights that weren't just Bowser Jr).
For the Badge Marathon, I turned on a 2nd character, which rode on the back of my main character, Yoshi. Yoshi can't take damage and has the mid-air flutter. Since the 2nd character is on his back, Yoshi has the crown icon above his head, which solves the invisibility issue in the last section.
I honestly think that the boss fight with Bowser Jr., where the water raises up and down, was harder than the final boss. It only took me 2 tries to beat Bowser, but with that one Bowser Jr. fight, it took me like 5 or more tries.
ngl i beat every boss first try, its kinda sad and im not insulting you, people have different levels of skill. i just sit in front of my god-damn computer all fucking day long ;-;
For a person that beat the bowser boss battle with yoshi (I’m bad with Mario-) I think badge marathon would be pretty easy besides the ooze and the void.
The hardest non optional level for me was Knuckle Fest Bowser’s Blazing Beats, mostly because of the wonder seed segment. Though it’s probably also my favorite non boss stage.
I don't know the game wasn't that hard until I got to the special stages in my opinion the first special stage was slightly hard the second one was a pain in the ass it took me two days but I did get it
I haven’t finished the game but I do not understand how climb to the beat is not #1. If there are that many levels harder than it than it then I am so scared for what is to come lol
I’ve got a mad advantage in rhythm based gameplay, so that part of Climb to the Beat was easy for me. Those one block jumps were the biggest hurdle of that level though
I thought Wonder was pretty easy but super fun. The special world was hard but not SMW hard! Hopefully they have some DLC for this game in the next six months or so. Back to SMM2 garbage. Thanks for the video.
And the absolute hardest level without a doubt was “jump to the beat” I played that one so many times it made me rage quit for an hour or two 3 times!!
Triple threat deluge is a weird one because I did it like third try after dying almost instantly the first two times I think its mostly about luck for how hard it is
As hard as that last one is (i had to redo it for the gold flag pole) its still a lot easier than some of the other games final challenges since you get that checkpoint flag. I might've despised every second of the last badge challenge but i would do it again before grandmaster galaxy
I would love to share my opinion on this!c(I play as Yoshi Most of the time so my rankings are different) 15. Bowser’s Rage stage 14. Wonder gauntlet 13. Triple threat deluge 12. Dangerous donut ride 11. Pole block allure 10. Dragon Boneyard 9. Bulrush express 8. Bounce bounce bounce (without jet run and a partner, if it was, it would be 15th) 7. Wavy ride through magma tube 6. Pirahana plant reprise 5. Missile Meg mayhem 4. Solar roller 3. Way of the Goomba 2. Climb to it 1. Badge marathon (although I haven’t played it yet)
1:26 #14 Am I the only one that knows you can just use the darn cap hat and float right instead of figuring out how to bounce on them? Avoid them then just jump on the last one to get to the right at the end of it.
I am absolutely not joking when I say Climb to the Beat re-injured my hand that I thought was better. By far the hardest for me, and it took wayyyyy too many times to beat.
I hadn't 100%-ed the game completely, but I will try in the future after I finish playing the Super Mario RPG remake, Princess Peach Showtime, and the Paper Mario Thousand Year Door Remake, and if Mario Kart Tour does shut down next year as well. I do, however, think that jumping and rising purple lava one in the first course in the special secret world was the most difficult for me of the ones I've done so far.
I think if they had at least one challenging level per world, that was built around a badge (like in the final final test) this game's difficulty would feel more evened out. The final final test showcased how much potential the badges had that was never unitilised.
The wavy Ryan become very easy with some tricks Like drilling into the platforms that you ride on to avoid enemies and projectiles, and then using the ! Blocks charm to make getting some of the 10 flower coins easier. Hope this helps :D
Not much of a list when you list the entire final world as the obvious difficult levels Ps. Even though the number gets smaller as you climb the list, you still say higher if you state it could be more difficult, not lower
I really want to adore mario wonder but I just can't due to the lack of challenge and fun boss fights. This could've topped yoshi's island if they had upped the difficulty and threw in bosses with wonder effects.
i remember getting fustrated when the uncharted ruins level forced me to get the wonder seed from the wonder flower (i tended to ignore the wonder flower if i died during the section)
Just sacrificed one night of sleep because of climb to the beat, prpbably about 300 attempts. Nice level but i am so done now with this game, even though i still havent played a couple levels. This final challenge of the badges, no thank you, found most of these badge mechanics a big pain.
TBH the Final Final Test isn't necessarily "Hard"... it's mostly Trial and Error, (mostly Errors but hey). It's not like there are some unfair spots like pixel perfect jumps or single block platforms, every section requires to learn what to do first and then execute it later. with the exception of the Invisibility part, if they made Mario or whoever u play as visible to the player like with an Outline or an arrow it would be less of an Anxiety Filled part.
They put an unfair spot with the spring and moving fire. I just made a playthrough without loosing a live und used every item i had just to solve this level. After it the last chapter was not that tricky
I don't know how many lives i lost on climb to the beat..... close to 200. I know this because i went and bought 99 lives and died. and almost went through the next 99 lives. I did complete it but missed the wonder seed as i was so relieved i made it.... then the seed disappeared.. But yeah the dash badge really help on this one just on the last horizontal section before the single blocks up. That and the final badge challenge were easily the 2 hardest levels and i'm yet to complete the badge challenge.
I don’t care if a game is easy as long as it’s not mindless easy and it can still engage me through its gameplay. I love Kirby and many others do yet that series is also easy but what keeps me going is the gameplay. What I don’t want is a star allies game where it’s bland and does nothing to innovate and also allies beating enemy’s and bosses for you without touching them. When it’s easy to the point like in star allies where I don’t have to beat enemy or bosses and can just let my ai partners do it that’s when I think it crosses the line. Great video still
Agree, can’t believe how much easier they made this game after Mario Maker 2! I k ow some gamers are beginners, but so were the players 30years ago who started with SMB. The only difference- back then, people didn’t complain but learned and practiced! I don’t think it’s necessary for everyone to be able to easily finish a game! This streamlining destroys the game for experienced players! Not OK! Also removing the score and timer is a lazy design choice! Because the program a game where player has to manage what to destroy/ kill, or how fast to go?’… these things all help replayability because you can always push to experiment and try again. Making a game like this will totally make the game forgettable in the long run!
I'm not even gonna try for 100% completion, not even for the satisfaction of beating Badge Marathon. I've gotten enough satisfaction from beating Climb to the Beat without losing more than half the maximum life count you can obtain (not even a third). Buying lives definitely helps for the harder 4- and 5-star levels, but they are doable even without buying lives or exploiting one of a handful of infinite 1-up tricks, and without getting a Game Over.
I’m convinced the people who say Mario bros wonder is too easy are people who used yoshi the whole game and probably have 1 medal and missed most of the secrets and wonder seeds

For the Badge Marathon, I turned on a 2nd character, which rode on the back of my main character, Yoshi. Yoshi can't take damage and has the mid-air flutter. Since the 2nd character is on his back, Yoshi has the crown icon above his head, which solves the invisibility issue in the last section.
smart
Special World almost reaches Kaizo status :O
I would put Wall Jump II on this list. This level frustrates me to no end.
I honestly think that the boss fight with Bowser Jr., where the water raises up and down, was harder than the final boss. It only took me 2 tries to beat Bowser, but with that one Bowser Jr. fight, it took me like 5 or more tries.
ngl i beat every boss first try, its kinda sad
and im not insulting you, people have different levels of skill. i just sit in front of my god-damn computer all fucking day long ;-;
For a person that beat the bowser boss battle with yoshi (I’m bad with Mario-) I think badge marathon would be pretty easy besides the ooze and the void.
The hardest non optional level for me was Knuckle Fest Bowser’s Blazing Beats, mostly because of the wonder seed segment. Though it’s probably also my favorite non boss stage.
im obsessed with knucklefest. the beat. the difficulty. i l o v e i t
I don't know the game wasn't that hard until I got to the special stages in my opinion the first special stage was slightly hard the second one was a pain in the ass it took me two days but I did get it
I will probably be using the yoshis in most of the special world levels especially the second one 😭
I haven’t finished the game but I do not understand how climb to the beat is not #1. If there are that many levels harder than it than it then I am so scared for what is to come lol
I’ve got a mad advantage in rhythm based gameplay, so that part of Climb to the Beat was easy for me. Those one block jumps were the biggest hurdle of that level though
idk why i havent been subbed i love these vids fr
I thought Wonder was pretty easy but super fun. The special world was hard but not SMW hard! Hopefully they have some DLC for this game in the next six months or so. Back to SMM2 garbage. Thanks for the video.
Just finishing climb to the beat was so hard. I then went back to get the flower coins and flagpole and nearly threw my switch across the room lol
And the absolute hardest level without a doubt was “jump to the beat” I played that one so many times it made me rage quit for an hour or two 3 times!!
Triple threat deluge is a weird one because I did it like third try after dying almost instantly the first two times I think its mostly about luck for how hard it is
Your pfp is literally the same hat and mustache I printed out for halloween lol
Aside from Badge marathon, Climb to the Beat was definitely the hardest
As hard as that last one is (i had to redo it for the gold flag pole) its still a lot easier than some of the other games final challenges since you get that checkpoint flag. I might've despised every second of the last badge challenge but i would do it again before grandmaster galaxy
5:26 not really paying attention he is a different colour
It took me 43 lives to beat badge marathon
And yes i got all 10 flower coins the wonder fruits and the top of the flag pole in one run
I started the level with 99 lives and ended it with 0 left. As you can see, the level was a little tricky
I love how this guy casually has buff Luigi
I would love to share my opinion on this!c(I play as Yoshi Most of the time so my rankings are different)
15. Bowser’s Rage stage
14. Wonder gauntlet
13. Triple threat deluge
12. Dangerous donut ride
11. Pole block allure
10. Dragon Boneyard
9. Bulrush express
8. Bounce bounce bounce (without jet run and a partner, if it was, it would be 15th)
7. Wavy ride through magma tube
6. Pirahana plant reprise
5. Missile Meg mayhem
4. Solar roller
3. Way of the Goomba
2. Climb to it
1. Badge marathon (although I haven’t played it yet)
Great video keep up the good work
1:26 #14 Am I the only one that knows you can just use the darn cap hat and float right instead of figuring out how to bounce on them? Avoid them then just jump on the last one to get to the right at the end of it.
Forget that. I used Floating High Jump.
Beat it first try.
2:15 can we call the enemies here, bamterryboos?
I think if they had at least one challenging level per world, that was built around a badge (like in the final final test) this game's difficulty would feel more evened out. The final final test showcased how much potential the badges had that was never unitilised.
Triple Threat Deluge was a pain in the ass for me. Found it a lot harder than Climb to the Beat.
The hen levels were really tough. I did 2 1st try believe her not. Can I finally get the hardest one ever? It was hard and tough but I Did it
The wavy Ryan become very easy with some tricks
Like drilling into the platforms that you ride on to avoid enemies and projectiles, and then using the ! Blocks charm to make getting some of the 10 flower coins easier.
Hope this helps :D
Try using Jet Run badge only it’s really hard for the bowsers stages
I just wish there were more water levels the Isles have so much space for more
The invisible section of Final Final world is killing me!
Climb to the beat gave me so much anxiety. It's the last level I need to beat lol (not counting the 2 final specials)
Not much of a list when you list the entire final world as the obvious difficult levels
Ps. Even though the number gets smaller as you climb the list, you still say higher if you state it could be more difficult, not lower
I really want to adore mario wonder but I just can't due to the lack of challenge and fun boss fights. This could've topped yoshi's island if they had upped the difficulty and threw in bosses with wonder effects.
i remember getting fustrated when the uncharted ruins level forced me to get the wonder seed from the wonder flower (i tended to ignore the wonder flower if i died during the section)
damn this is an easy game if pickings are so slim solar roller is on the list lol
Just sacrificed one night of sleep because of climb to the beat, prpbably about 300 attempts. Nice level but i am so done now with this game, even though i still havent played a couple levels. This final challenge of the badges, no thank you, found most of these badge mechanics a big pain.
I, too, needed hundreds of attempts to clear it, but it’s easier when you watch someone else do it to see the timing. My hand has still not recovered.
When I was in special world I literally slammed my head into my desk and this is also probably the reason my switch controllers don’t work anymore 😂
Way of the Goomba got me 2 Game Overs
How is jump jump jump not on this list?? I still haven’t beat that level
Bowsers Rage Stage is actually really easy, since you can dodge the attacks easily.
2:40 me using drill to drill into the platform so im basically invincible.. 😅
when i first did a lights out level it creeped me tf put 😭 reminded me of the lights out movie
Hah I remember thinking the wonder marathon was the end
I don't know how many lives i lost on climb to the beat..... close to 200. I know this because i went and bought 99 lives and died. and almost went through the next 99 lives. I did complete it but missed the wonder seed as i was so relieved i made it.... then the seed disappeared.. But yeah the dash badge really help on this one just on the last horizontal section before the single blocks up.
That and the final badge challenge were easily the 2 hardest levels and i'm yet to complete the badge challenge.
Mario Wonder has a lot of easter eggs to other Mario games and also took some ideas from Wario Land
Great video still
It can be argued that there are bosses, just only during the Wonder Flower sections of the level.
I recommend doing the 99 lives method before getting to the special world!! Also am I the only one who found the level Spelunking super hard?
I finally beat Climb to the Beat today after around 250 attempts. That was the harder level I've had to beat
“The Special World…”
Summarised the video for you. You’re welcome.
Climb to the beat will test you like no other course.
😳 I'm sorry you struggled with the final Bowser fight bro...I won't tell anyone
Poison ruins over climb to the beat and climb to the beat over way of the goomba is crazy💀
Idk what you're on about, I beat all of these with ease except the rhythm jump stage and the final badge test
Still haven't beaten those two
I just beat badge marathon and no joke took 90 of my lives :’)
The invisibility badge can be overcome by spamming emotes by pushing x
The ai thumbnail looks good 👍
Wait it’s ai?
@@Duolllingono it isn
Now try all these levels with no power up
I'll never finish Mario Wonder after your video 😂😂😂😂
Number 6 in this video is my #1 right now. I can do the precision jumbs but I'm just not fast enough.
Great video❤
For bounce bounce bounce what I did is just use the extra twirl jump badge and jump across to 5e safe spots and wait for the ball
On Bounce, Bounce, Bounce it’s really easy if you use floating high jump
