I think "In Full Bloom" is the easiest, considering all you have to do is cover a mini-planet with flowers and then climb up a vine to get your star.

8:50 Technically, in the original Galaxy, you had to get 5 silver stars on the Mario side. You were describing the purple coins mission, which was on the Luigi side.

That really pissed me off. That makes about as much sense as comparing Fast Foes on the Cyclone Stone to the first star of Stone Cyclone Galaxy, and saying it became "too easy".

Personally, I think the last two stars should've been switched around. "The Hidden Wall Jump" is the easiest star in the game.

Has to be the easiest. Once I was playing SMG2 with my friend. We finished the first star of HoneyBloom Galaxy and the screen showed that there was a secret star somewhere. I told him that I knew where the star was, but I would let him try to find it. He did all the level again, exploring every crack of the floor, except for up there. I was all like "You give up?" and he said "Yeah. I'm not even sure if there IS one!". Did it in a single minute and I just saw him jawdrop. best moment in my life ever.

9:05 A couple of things: First: The analogous mission to Luigi’s Purple Coins (SMG1) is Luigi’s Purple Coin Chaos (SMG2) - in which both involve finding purple coins; not Make Mario A Star (SMG2), which takes place on the Mario side of the planet - in which you are trying to make all the flipswitch panels yellow. The analogous mission in SMG1 to Make Mario A Star (SMG2) taking place on the Mario side of the planet would be Mario Meets Mario (SMG1) - in this mission, you are looking to collect 5 Silver Stars on the Mario side of the planet.

yea the SMG2 Luigi's Purple Coins is objectively harder than the one in the first game, since this time you do not have 50 extra coins of leg room, AND you have a much more strict timer, AND you have cosmic clones chasing you meaning that if you don't plan all your movement perfectly in advance, you will more than likely hit one of the clones and fall into the poison or disappearing platform.

The second star you mentioned, the one in boo moon galaxy, is a sliding scale in terms of how difficult it is. Sure it's easy to not die, but the boo Mario section I find to be quite stressful at times

A lot of what's hard about hidden stars is not completing them, but finding them. If you already know how to find them, it'll be easy.
That's not fair, for no.4 you comparing it with the original star from galaxy 2 and the COMET from galaxy 1. The comet for the mario squared galaxy is just as hard as the comet in galaxy 1

Is it weird that I found some of these stars rather tedious?
No; some of them definitely had difficult/vastly infuriating components to them. The first section of #9 was completely senseless and infuriating.
They had the purple coin mission in Mario Squared Galaxy too in Galaxy 2
which is objectively harder, since you have to collect 100/100 instead of 100/150 coins, plus you have a much more strict time limit, plus you have cosmic clones chasing you which essentially if you hit one (and you certainly will if you don't plan out your movement perfectly), there's a 99% chance you will die from falling into poison or the platform disappearing from underneath you. Sure the rotating platforms are no longer there, but I honestly didn't find those to be that big of an issue in the first place and I'd much prefer those over these other three things I mentioned lol
8:56 Woah, woah, hold ya horses. The Luigi star from the first game was remade into a cosmic clone chase in the second. The star that Make Mario a Star is based off is the one where you had to collect the silver stars on the 8-bit Mario in Toy Time Galaxy. I forgot its name.
Fluffy bluff galaxy has the best music in the game imo. Absolutely love it.

@@Rfc1972_ how? you have a much stricter time limit, you have to get EVERY coin (instead of 100/150 in the first game), and on top of that you have cosmic clones chasing you which, if you don't have completely perfect movement while collecting purple coins (in order to not run out of time), you will probably get hit by a cosmic clone and fall off the stage or into lava. Galaxy 2's is OBJECTIVELY harder. Like, it's not even a matter of opinion because it can't be easier if everything is the same but with less time and with cosmic clones and no extra coins as backup.
The rotating platforms weren't rly an issue in the first game honestly since like I said you could miss up to 50 coins and still clear it.

Haunting The Howling Tower was incredibly difficult for me as Boo Mario levitates so slowly, I kept getting hit by the boos and unable to reach the star on that last part with the narrow vertical section you have to levitate up.
The Fluzzard levels are also quite difficult for me. That big bird is hard to control

The green mario one is also a purple coin run for the comet though it is hard it's not as hard as galaxy 1

For Make Mario a Star, it is not based off Luigi's Purple Coins, it is based off Mario Meets Mario, but there is a mission based off Luigi's Purple Coins, as the Comet

For number 3, if you slowly inch up to the star pieces, no cosmic clones will spawn, making it way easier.
A little interesting tip for number three, if you slowly walk towards the star chips in the first section, the shadow clones won't appear making it easier.

I found 8, 6, 5, and 2 to be the easiest. The rest were fairly easy EXCEPT FOR 9! When I was little and doing it for the first time, (and last) it took me no joke a half hour to beat just the last part. It was probably because my floats weren't working for some reason, I remember simply gaining hight was near impossible.

If you want to make The Shadow Lining hard, try to beat it without collecting any Star Bits.
Wity #5 I've always found myself ice skating for at least 5 minutes just going back and fourth in the wide open area. I'm pretty sure this is intentional to help you learn how to use the skating mechanic, as I believe this is the first level to introduce it.
I'd also swap #1 and #2.

At first I thought you were talking about the Mario's silver stars in toy time when talking about Mario Squared, but confused because silver stars is pretty easy, it made sense when you made it clear that is was actually the purple coins.
5:30-with some timed long jumps, spin jumps and triple jumps, you can make the level much easier than it already is. you may get burned once or twice. but it's better than doing it the normal way.

Hey NB, Nice list I'm suprised the Peewee Piranha Temper Tantrum star wasn't on here cuz that felt very simple.
I thought #9 was actually pretty hard at the end due to the octo boos
What's funny is that, except for The Toad Brigade Captain and The Shadow Lining, all of these stars took me more than one attempt. Rolling Crabber Romp took 4, Haunting the Howling Tower took 4, The Deep Shell Well has taken 8 and counting, Bowser on Ice took 2, Twin Falls Hideaway took 2, Make Mario a Star took 16, The Secret Wall Jump didn't cause any deaths but the jump itself took 60-ish tries, and Fluzzard's First Flight took 2. This coming from someone who beat half the other stars and ones like Purple Coin Spin Speedrun and Snacktime for Gobblegut on my first try.
I've spent hours on the Twin Falls mission... mostly because I can't help it and just love ice-skating around. For the longest time, my record as just under 10 minutes.

I found your numbers 9 and 8 really difficult and found 1 difficult when I was a kid but now I beat it in one go

I'm fine with fluzzard's first flight. It's the second flying mission which I had trouble with, especially while trying to get the comet medal.

Every time I watch a Nathaniel Bandy video where he talks about Mario Sqaured galaxy, he always mentions how it's so much easier than the first game even though Mario Squared galaxy has a purple coin comet that's arguably harder than Luigi's purple coins
i played this game when i was 7 with my cousin. i usually play the luma because im suck at controlling then. we barely finish any galaxies. i always remember how struggling i am in the #8 star in this list, i never finish the second section

Number 4 is easier then the purple coin star version of the stage in Galaxy one but I don’t know about the original version. The purple coin mission has you on Luigi not Mario.
I haven't played this game in a while, Nate, but excluding the green stars, I do think there are a few easier stars in Mario Galaxy 2 to get than these. Also, there WAS a star a lot easier than "Make Mario a Star" on the exact same Mario planet in the first Mario Galaxy called "Mario Meets Mario" where all you had to do was collect Silver Stars, taking about 30 seconds to complete once you get there! And don't forget that Mario Galaxy 2 has a Luigi's Purple Coins mission too with Cosmic Clones that was admittedly much easier than the original and worthy of making this list! Ah well, I still love the video! Please make the Top 10 Easiest Green Stars in Super Mario Galaxy 2! It'd be awesome!

For the secret wall jump, I was wondering "Hmmmm... What is up there?" Then after a couple of tries I got up to the star and I thanked my curiosity. Lol (I got it on my first try on the level)
