Rocky Road was one of my favorite levels because of how hard it was to me when I first played galaxy when I was 8. 8 years later, I’m a 16 year old playing the game on the Super Mario 3D All Stars. I replayed the level again. And yeah... it’s kinda easy, I only died once
3:57 I thought the title “rocky road” was telling the player that the level has a rocky terrain and that it’s was the name of a kind of ice cream which was the theme of the level (which was a which was a level with a lot of sweets in it)

My thoughts on each Star:
10: I sometimes wonder what the purpose of these 1-Star galaxies were in the first place. They could have at least made the planet larger, with more Flipswitches.
9: There is a slight challenge to this, though impatience is most certainly the vice there.
8: It's the first Power Star of the game, so...
7: First Hungry Luma? Yes.
6: A galaxy so small that it was "reworked" into a planet in Sea Slide. I appreciate the ideas, Nintendo, but at least have more galaxies like Buoy Base that are 2-star and initially marked under ? Blocks.
5: I did actually fail this Star on my first attempt because I missed a ? Coin, but overall getting to the Golden Chomp was unlike any simplicity I had seen at that point.
4: The music is harder than this mission (and it doesn't even play exclusively in it!).
3: I was bothered by the same things you were.
2: Did this even need to be in the game? Especially given its cruel message?
1: They should have put Luigi in a much harder to access location, like one of the things inside the pill planet depicted in A Snack of Cosmic Proportions.
I hate how they included the larger version of #6 in Sea Slide and because it wasn't already small enough, they included the smaller version on its own. Should've been the other way around...
It's always a joy seeing someone discuss my favorite game of all time. Pretty much every star for me isn't that bad since I've beaten the game over seven times.

I'm 13 so I grew up with Mario Galaxy like you with Mario 64. THE NOSTALGIA IS REAL when I was like 8, I damaged the disc and my life hasn't been the same since. Ever since then I always tell myself I'm going to get a new copy but I never actually do. I played the 2nd game of the eshop and it's got nothing to the first one. The levels seem less open and less Mario 64y if that makes sense. Somebody tell me, is Mario Galaxy (1st one) on the eshop yet? I will send you a virtual hug
I believe it is on the WiiU eShop, if that's what you're asking. And I agree. Something about the first game... I dunno. I like it a lot more than the second. I think maybe for me it's A. the musical pieces, B. the storyline, or C. the Observatory and the Terraces?

I feel so pathetic... when I first played the holes-in-the-floor cake-galaxy-thing, I legit thought it was difficult. I kept falling through and raging afterwards... then again, I was 7 at the time. Yeah, now I feel really dumb.

When I first played this game, I couldn’t even beat the TUTORIAL STAR! Those bunnies were too hard to catch. But I’ve 100% odyssey now! But I never went back to this game.
The weird-looking Goombas give you coins when you spin into them instead of Star Bits. They're probably common in the first level because the spin attack had just been introduced as an easier way to fight on a spherical planet, and first-time players would likely need extra coins because of damage taken.

I like the shorter intros, however as I said in a previous comment, there should be a transition after the intro that begins the Top Ten countdown. Its like in an essay: if you don't use transitions, then moving on to the next paragraph is sudden and unprepared for.
The shorter the intro the better. I click a video because of what I see in the title and thumbnail and not for a obnoxious 20-30 second intro.
I do like short intros, but personally, I felt like that intro was just a tad too short for me. I prefer having a little more to the intro then just one sentence, only two would already be good enough. In my opinion :)Also, awesome list as usual ;)

you'd need to get all 120 stars...TWICE so while the star is easy by it's self, getting to it is hard.
The logic of that doesn't make sense. How to unlock a level doesn't reflect the difficulty of the actual level.
Well, to be fair, the Grand Finale Galaxy takes more time than Luigi on the Roof.

I actually found Rocky Road to be pretty difficult.
I love doing the platform thing in Hurry Scurry galaxy, then long jumping around the empty planet. So Fun!
Number seven on this list is a perfect example of a level that I personally hate it when I first tried it out but came to love it with some practice

Loopdeloop, Passing the Swim Test, and ESPECIALLY Rocky Road were difficult for me. Fortunately, for Loopdeloop Galaxy, you can cheese it by going very slowly. As for the Swim Test, I still haven’t gotten used to the controls. And Rocky Road was insanely hard, as I don’t remember having tried long jumps or spin jumps. Fortunately, there’s a 1-Up right after the checkpoint, so after you get through the first part, you can try as many times as you need to get to the end.

On rocky road, I almost died two times, but both times, the zappers literally stun locked me in place, so it gave me time to shake and get on top of the platform. It was cool

I actually had difficulties with some of these stars when I was ten, but that was back when I sucked at motion controls and handling Mario in a 3D game.
4:20 Rocky Road's star actually was the first galaxy I got a game over. (only got game over 4 times after that.)
Lol pretty much every level in the game was awfully difficult for me, but i loved it so much that i kept playing and now i speedrun both galaxy games, super fun.

I pretty much agree with your Top 3. I am surprised by a few others though honestly. Several of the Bee galaxies' stars could have made this list easily, especially their first stars. Bigmouth Galaxy would have been on there.
Yeah, the very thin paths and easy death at the end of pull star path, rocky road and shrinking satelitte's layout where you can end up blocking yourself off were the bane's of my existance in this game.

In sweet sweet galaxy, I would miscalculate a jump and forget to spin, but basically every time it happened, I hit an electrical barrier and landed "safely" on the next platform... super weird, but awesome at the same time.
When I was little the Rocky road Galaxy was the hardest but now honestly I can complete the level in almost under 30 seconds

Rocky Road was pretty difficult when I played it. Even on the second run with Luigi, it still took a good 5 deaths.
When I was younger I had so much trouble with rocky road and flip switch galaxy
for some reason, for the times I played rocky road before I watched this, I couldn't get the star, but after I watched this I managed to do it
I actually think that Surfing 101 takes a good while to get the hang of. You have a lot of really tight turns that throw you off easily and the timer is on your back so you can barely slow down.
