  • Homeschool history subjects taught the Charlotte Mason way are full of great joy. Today was our first official history lesson and I wanted to share the whole segment with you! This video is long because of that reason. It is unedited with notations through out so that way you can see why I teach the lessons the way that I do.

Thank you so much for your demonstration! It is very helpful. I am considering this curriculum, not because we don’t love our current history, but because it includes geography and ties in with Bible history. These videos are just so helpful for those of us that are trying to determine if this curriculum is right for us. Ty!

@@HappyHomeHeritage I have our subjects that we do everyday but I let my daughter pick the order for the most part. And then we do a lot of science projects and hands on outdoor learning. I'm not sure what that style is called though lol

@@stepfordlivingvlogs2178 That sounds lovely. I’m sure your daughter really enjoys how you allow her to choose what she wants to start with each day ☺️

How do you get your kids to hold their attention that long. Also if my kids are drawing they have no idea what im reading or their picture has nothing to do with what we are learning about

I'm considering this curriculum but wondered about how much it would cost to buy the books that are needed. Do you have an estimate of how much it would cost? Thanks!

I just went through my purchase history for Simply Charlotte Mason and the total was $175 with shipping. I know that I purchased some other required books from other websites as well. I would say, in total, around $250. There are two books that are used throughout every history year no matter what year you choose. This price also includes the individual books for my 3rd and 5th grader. You may be able to find some of the books at your library as well. I apologize for taking so long to respond, we fell sick with COVID and it took some time to get back to “normal”.

You can buy used as well from Abe Books and save so much.

For my three kids (each in different age categories) it appears that it will cost about $330. The cost really comes down to the ages/grades of your children, because apart from the family read alouds, each age category has separate books to read independently (or with a parent if you choose).

Definitely shop thriftbooks!! It will cut your cost in half or more. And as a teacher you can scan your letter from the school district of your intent to homeschool and get the teacher discount which is buy 4 books and get one free! You’re also earning points for free books! It’s amazing.
