    Thank you so much!!! This was absolutely wonderful. I am so interested in Simply Charlotte Mason for our homeschool and it is hard to find reviews on here. Everything looks so lovely! I may have questions in the future! 😊

    This was sooooo helpful as I’m looking into the Simply CM curriculum! Haven’t found many walkthrough videos like this! Thank you so much!

    Thank you for this! I have an 8yo, 4yo, and baby on the way. So they will be somewhat spread out as well. This was very helpful and the curriculum looks lovely! We’re using their spelling program with my 3rd grader right now, so I was curious about their other subjects! ❤️

    Thank you so much for this video! I’ve homeschooled my 3rd child since K, she’ll be going into 2nd and my older 2 will be joining us for the 1st time. They’ll be in 5th and 7th. I’ve been searching on how to combine as much as possible and this was very helpful!!

    For the independent reading do they have questions that we are suppose to ask like the narration cards? I want to be sure they are reading their assignments. Thank you.

    This video was great! We are using several things from SCM for my oldest (laying down the rails, art, handwriting, and poet).
    Would you say that the "Visits to.." packets could be used solo? We are looking at something else for history but would love the geography component from SCM, if possible.

    • @OfficialHomeschoolGems
      @OfficialHomeschoolGems  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely! You could use Visits as a stand alone :) Thanks for watching.

    Can you do an in depth flip through/review of Spelling Wisdom as well as how you use it in your homeschool?

    This was such a great breakdown. Thank you! Do you have any in depth history Bible reviews. On how you use it and how you’ll approach the cycles? Would love to get an idea from you. I have a 7, 5 and 3 yo so I’m interested in using it in a few years.

      I have not yet posted any Bible history videos. I do not go in SCM order actually….I have always waited until my children were of older age before teaching ancient Egypt/Greece/Rome. I spend the early years in USA and State History, then broaden out into the world. However, when I taught Bible history to my older kids, we tied in celebrating the Jewish feasts and holidays! That was very memorable.

    Hi, thank you so much for your review. I’m new to homeschooling this Fall & I’m unable to decide between SCM & MFW. This Fall my littles will be 1st grade & preschool. I really love the SCM ideas, but I worry that it may be too heavy. I was hoping that you could help me decide. I have both curriculums in the cart & I don’t know which to pull the trigger on. 🙈

    • @mayrad9688
      @mayrad9688 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I really like that in SCM the history, geography & bible is tied together & it begins at the beginning. (Genesis & Egypt & Africa)
      So I worry that MFW won’t do that & that my kid will be missing out.

    • @OfficialHomeschoolGems
      @OfficialHomeschoolGems  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I love both companies for different reasons but I would actually say that SCM is lighter than MFW. (Because MFW has recipes, crafts and hands on projects that SCM does not) It really depends what type of homeschool year you’d like to have. I have a video review of MFW 1st grade on this channel as well :)

    Hi! Been enjoying your content! I have a question-we’re looking at doing either My Father’s World (which I saw you also do from your other videos) or the complete SCM curriculum. I have soon-to-be 9 and 6 year olds. I’d be starting with ECC and modifying to include my 6 year old in some of it and also doing the complete 1st grade program since it is all-inclusive. Overall, do you prefer MFW or SCM? Or how is it that you use both? Has it just been different years you’ve done different curriculum? Thank you for your help!

    • @OfficialHomeschoolGems
      @OfficialHomeschoolGems  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, over 13yrs I've used different curriculum with different kids at different times :) IMO - you'd have a very full plate teaching MFW ECC + MFW First....it would mean longer school days than the SCM route. MFW has more projects, crafts/activities where-as SCM is a slower pace, more discussion/narration/read aloud. It really depends on what you're looking for in this season! MFW is not strictly CM, like SCM is.

    • @LauraKWeld-bz4dt

      @@OfficialHomeschoolGems thank you for your reply! I was leaning toward MFW because it just looks more “fun” and is all planned out for me, but the ages of my kids makes it not an ideal fit at this stage (as you pointed out). We already do Classical Conversations, so I though combining a CM approach with the CC memory work would be a good balance of my two favorite educational theories. IYO, do you think a pretty advanced first grader could just hop into ECC (and then I’d keep working with her with a separate, non MFW math and phonics programs)? It seems like maybe it would be a lot simpler to just go the SCM route...

    • @OfficialHomeschoolGems
      @OfficialHomeschoolGems  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LauraKWeld-bz4dt Yes! A first grader could totally have their own set of student sheets for ECC and listen-in on read alouds... with their own separate math + phonics for first grade, which SCM does offer. If you’re just wanting a fun world geography based curriculum, that incorporates elements of science, art, etc I would actually suggest checking out Galloping The Globe by Geo Matters! It’s K-4 grades, biblical and very similar to MFW ECC but would suit your kids ages better :)

    I know this is old, but, for history are there options that don't include Story of the World?

      Hello, Simply Charlotte Mason does not utilize the Story of the World books by Susan Wise Bauer. :) Definitely check out their cycles. Also Queens Homeschool history.

    Have you used Queen Homeschool or Language Lessons for today?

    • @OfficialHomeschoolGems
      @OfficialHomeschoolGems  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes! Both :) I have a video on this channel reviewing Queen homeschool highschool and another video all about Lang Arts reviews! With Queen & LLFT you’ll need separate workbooks for each student; they’re not family style but I do like them both when you need to separate.

    • @letthespiritlive5749
      @letthespiritlive5749 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have a preference?

    • @OfficialHomeschoolGems
      @OfficialHomeschoolGems  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@letthespiritlive5749 Probably Queen - because you can use it K-12th, there's more content and kids can work independently. Although if you're using MFW in the elementary years along with LLFT, it makes the most sense :)
