I love that you point out Simple Charlotte Mason isn’t social media popular. I think it IS overlooked! There is so much beauty and simplicity in it 💛 thanks for your reviews as always!

Simply Charlotte Mason has become my favorite this year as well. It’s solid and the enrichment studies are so worth it. It’s made it so easy for me and I love being able to fit in all of the beautiful subjects without any stress.

Our favorite apart of SCM is the enrichment program. All my children enjoy it, and it is so open and go. We are teaching 4th, 9th, & 10th.

I really appreciate you mentioning the hard- to- find history curriculum. I live in America and as a person of color, I would prefer that my children are exposed to more than just American history. Thank you for your review!

Yes, I have a hard time because many free curriculums have a very ....i don't know what to say... But you know... as far as history. So I'm thinking of substituting that aspect.

Thank you so much for this review! Next year I’d planned on purchasing SCM for our rising first grader. We are in kindergarten now and very much following a CM philosophy while also listening to what our child wants to learn.

I completely agree that you can connect to history so much more when you connect to the stories of people. I used both Sonlight and Abeka when I was growing up, and what I remember most came from the books that were part of Sonlight...not from the textbooks. Thanks for sharing this review, I was really interested, because I didn't really understand quite what it included.

Wonderful review! We have only used their enrichment subjects thus far and have loved them! Definitely interested in their geography and the science curriculum!
We plan to use A Gentle Feast (another CM inspired curriculum) for 1st grade, but I might add in the geo and science from SCM:)

Just wondering how you find sourcing the books in NZ? I love the idea of using SCM but every time I start adding up the amounts to source the books, i end up going "maybe next year". We're in Australia for reference and i have found many of the books on the booklists aren't in our library and cost so much to import.

I have a question…. Does the Bible and history go hand in hand? Meaning are they together in the same book, but not learned as one history timeline? Or do you learn what is happening in Genesis and also what is happening in the world somewhere else? I want a curriculum that will teach us like this. We want to know what was happening in the world when Queen Esther was living. This is an example.
I hope I made myself clear.
Another program that I’ve heard does this is mystery of history but I like the Charlotte Mason approach in this one. But I want the Bible and history to be one, if that makes sense. 😅

I have a kinder and 2nd grader and I am wanting to introduce history this year but struggling between SCM, Biblioplan, not grass or Beautifuo feet. I really wanted a Curriculum that starts with creation and works to modern times, but there are t many reviews for SCM or Biblioplan. Lots more for notgreass and beautiful feet but those start with American history 👎🏼. We are American, but I feel more strongly for biblical history than American history 😂🙈
