Wow this curriculum overwhelms me. I have to remember it's for an entire year. I'm leaning towards the Heart of Dakota but love some of the enrichment studies for music and art from SCM. I may just get those from SCM and stick with HOD for the main curriculum.
Hello Kiki, Yes, that’s actually what we do in our home. Our main curriculum is Heart of Dakota, and we add enrichment studies from either SCM or from other books we like. It has worked out for us so far.
Holy! Thats a lot of information! How long do you spend each day homeschooling? I thought CM was supposed to be short lessons, but I feel like it would take hours each day to complete all this in a year.
Hello, thank you for your question. Lessons can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 20 minutes depending on the subject, and you don’t do every subject everyday. You alternate between the subjects. It only take about 2 hours a day. Because they are short lessons, you are able to do more subjects, but like I said, you don’t do every subject everyday. I hope this was helpful.
Hello, I believe you can teach most subjects together, you mainly need different math and language arts for the different grades, everything else you can combine if you choose to. Hope this helps

Hello, this is a good curriculum, but I personally prefer HOD for our family. We have continued with HOD this year. One of the things I really like, besides all the good books, is they way they have the teacher guides set up. Everything ties together very nicely. I also really like their student notebooks. HOD has a big focus on history which is my favorite subject! I Love all their history books!

Hi, all of these books are for 1st grade. You don't do every subject every day, they are stretched out throughout the year.
