    Very interesting review. I just bought the DT 770 Pro 80 Ohm model maybe two weeks ago (as of the date of this comment) based on the reviews I've watched and read on them. Almost everyone loves them overall but also almost everyone seems to criticize that peak in the 6-8khz range. Well, I love that peak! I tend to think those who criticize that anomaly probably listen to their music WAY beyond comfortable listening levels. At more normal volumes, it's a non-issue. It brings detail and clarity to the music and I love me some detail!!
    So now, the DT 700 Pro X exists. What to do. I like the potentially more comfortable pads and the detachable cable. But is it enough to upgrade from the 770's? From this review, I gather that the 700 Pro X isn't a direct upgrade, per se. Maybe it's more of a 770's sonic presentation with the dusty bits blown out with a pressurized air canister. With the limited reviews I've encountered so far, no one has said the differences between these models are dramatic, but maybe more or less the same.
    So perhaps I should just hang on to my 770's for a while. I'm curious what others think, especially considering the price difference. Thanks for the vid, Juan.

    Oh man, I wish I could try all those different cool headphones. I been in the look for a solid pair of headphones in the $200 territory for a lot of time,bought the M50X which are pretty decent but they're also kinda overhyped. My main issue with the M50X is confort, clamping force is too high, otherwise they have a lot of detail in the high and low frecuencies. I've been reading a lot of coments about Beyerdinamic and SENNHEISER and was thinking about giving the SENNHEISER HD599 a try, because they're available in my country.
    Edit: M70 Prox sounded great btw!

    • @SomeGadgetGuy
      @SomeGadgetGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm a LONG TIME fan of the 599. It's hard to go wrong with those. SO MANY good options around that price though.

      @michaelcorcoran8768 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah a lot of people have me looking at harmodynamic Zeus But that's north of 300. They have the helio which might be in your price range.
      But I'm pretty new to all this. I have an X2HR, and a variety of relatively low-cost chi-fi in-ear monitors (tin t2, ccz coffee, ks1). I thought about Beyer dynamic but I really want the detachable cable.

    I am a sound designer, I bought the DT 770 80 Ohm a few weeks ago and the bass response that it provides disappoints me a lot, the comparison of the bass between my monitors and the headphones is abysmal, I am not looking for a shocking bass, I am looking for a sincere sound , which for my taste I could not obtain with these headphones. Any headphone recommendations for sound design?

    Watching this on a bluetooth headset, so no idea how representative this is, but the recording off the M70 Pro X seems pretty sibilant to me. Anyone else can confirm that?
    Podcastage stated that the treble on this microphone was pretty dominant (untypically for a dynamic mic) and therefore could be fatiguing for the listener. Again, it might be my headset, but I see that somewhat confirmed here.

    • @garyluciani370
      @garyluciani370 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm listening to this with akg k371 headphones and I thought his voice was on the sibilant side with nice lower tonality.
      That's the Beyer headphone house sound.
      It sounds like they've carried that over to their Mics.
      Beyer loves that peaked up treble, but a lot of people including Juan seem to like that sound.

    • @dynastes4938
      @dynastes4938 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@garyluciani370 Beyer sound has its merrits, absolutely, but for a broadcast microphone its a somewhat strange choice, since that peak could get annoying over time with spoken word. Oh, well, I am sure it will be popular enough :)

    I have been trying to decide between the DT 700 and the 900 Pro X and after watching so many videos… I still can’t decide 😩 Never owned an open back so lacking a frame of reference

    • @kcogswell26
      @kcogswell26 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I haven’t tried these exact headphones yet but i have both closed and open cans.
      Closed will give you a bit more on the low end and make everything sound a bit more intimate/close to to you.
      Open will still have bass but not the same punch of the closed. Everything will sound a bit wider and more airy. Instruments and game sounds will have better directionality since the soundstage is wider. And obviously people around you will hear what you are listening to.
      700 and 900 should have a similar sound profile just with the differences I mentioned above.

    i would say that Modded DT770 Pro with detachable cable and Dekoni earpads are much Better value then DT700 Pro X actually the New DT700 and 900 Pro X earpads are a direct copy of Dekoni Choice Suede earpads for Beyerdynamic headphones which i use on my DT770 Pro complete different headphones when you change the stock not that good earpads
    plus theres mors then 10 different earpads that can fix DT770, 880, 990, 1770 and 1990 while 700 and 900 Pro X have proprietary earpads and Beyerdynamic Dosn't allow for some reason anyone to make 3th party earpads for them so you are stuck with one earpads model and earpads do affect the sound of headphones alot so this is a Big minus for the New Beyerdynamic headphones lets hope Beyerdynamic allows 3th party to make earpads at some point but it's been 1 year and still nothing
