Wow, it only took 30 seconds to mention my favorite headphones ever all for different reasons 😀😀. I am loving the detachable and replaceable cable. No dedicated amp needed? This is looking like an instant buy. 🤔, it beat the Planar's in the bass scenario. $199. Let's go!!!!
2:31 same, but now I can tell it apart by the cable which is on the left side, therefore left ear. However I'm still instinctualy trying to feel the left/right braille lol
Love that these are easier to drive. Hopefully this limited edition doesn't go away too soon, since I missed the custom line Beyer had due to the limited run.
I have the 80 ohm Custom Studio. Having never listened to a 770 before I thought perhaps I was getting effectively a 770 80 ohm (since I believe it has the same driver) just with an adjustable bass slider, detachable cable, and customizable earcups. I just got the 770 Pro X, an wow other than the feel of these cans on my head, they sound quite a bit different! The bass setting I run on the Custom Studio roughly gives me about the same level bass as the 770 Pro X. But overall I would say the Custom Studio is warmer; treble doesn't have the glare, mids and lows are fuller and more lush. The Custom Studio is very easy to listen to for a long time. What I noticed with the 770 Pro X right away was the hotter treble and vocals were lacking some fullness compared to the Custom Studio. However, the detail, articulation, sense of space, soundstage and separation was really good. Bass seemed faster, more impactful and controlled without any bloat (perhaps the mid/upper bass isn't as elevated compared to the Custom Studio). To me the Custom Studio is likened more to the the sound of a nightclub, and the 770 Pro X has more the sound and brightness of a live concert performance...my point of reference here is having just attended a live VNV Nation concert, an electronic "Futurepop" band that gets a lot of play at nightclubs I go to.
Such comfortable headphones. I skipped them needing more isolation,.... But since then have enjoyed using them other places that I should just bite the bullet just and get some now. The new one looks nice. I hipped a friend to the possibility of replacing the cup cushions on his deteriorating ones. He didn't know you could. Nice being replaceable.
I would suggest you look up the construction of the DT 990 and how the driver is made. There is no surround to get old. These are just shit headphones.
I have a pair of DT 770 600ohm I was very disappointed when they broke the sound is off on them, have so many different headphones that there is no rush to get them fixed but Beyerdynamic refuse to fix them so I'm just going to stay away from the company personally. Good to see you Juan glad you're still in the TH-cam space!
@@SomeGadgetGuy I would like open headphones, but in the case of the Pro X, they seem more semi-open. Many say that with the Sonarworks settings, 900 Pro X becomes better. It's just strange why Beyerdynamic released a Limited Edition only for the 770 but didn't do the same for the 990.
@@na-dj6ob From what I have heard and read, the 770 Pro X are even more V-shaped than the traditional DT 770 Pro. I just received a DT 770 Pro 80 Ohms, and compared to my DT 880 Edition 600 Ohms, which is pretty flat, the 80 Ohms DT 770 Pro is not too far off. It just has more slam in the bass and slightly recessed upper bass and lower treble. The DT 770 Pro X adds more lower bass and more treble, which would probably be too much for me.

It's a solid refresh. It's fresh, but not radically different.
@@SomeGadgetGuy Yep, but I do like that it's easier to drive.
@@SomeGadgetGuyquite a feat for a refreshed device.
"New Coke version". Such a perfect shorthand for the 'new isn't necessarily better' argument ❤

@@barbedwirerat661 good to know, this was very useful. Thanks!
I wonder if there will be higher Ohm versions like the previous DT 770 Pro did.
@Syronlolmeaning?
@@modal1312 its a low impedance driver from new units dt700 pro x
balanced dt770 with 600 ohm drivers :), I just order modded version of dt880 600 ohm just because I miss beyer sound in my collection

That's being a good friend. People don't know this stuff can last a lot longer with some maintenance.
I would love those headphones for my video editing.
Oooo is it now the time to get this closed back to complement the 6xx i own?
Is it possible your drivers are getting old when you noticed them not handling the bass?

Is the ear cups bigger? And the ear cup cushion's thicker that will be awesome ?
These headphones sound fantastic on a OTL tube amp along with my DT-1990's.
Have you tried the fiio jt1 yet?
Thanks!
Out of all Beyerdynamic headphones I like DT 900 Pro X the most
Do they fit big ears?
The fit bigger ears than mine. I'm not sure how to grade beyond that 😅
Omg finally a removable cable! That's the only thing I don't like about my 770s
LOL you can tell folks have been bugging them about this for YEARS 😄
Waiting for Classic mix with new wireless headphones.
I'm good pairing these with my fiio 😁
DT 770 Pro X vs DT 900 PRO X 🎧what do you think?
I like both, but do you need open or closed back?

Nice
The comfort of Beyers are great, but I've always hated their sound signature. Way too harsh in the highs.
Please tell me they sound better than the 990s lol. Cymbals for days
This isn't really a studio model. It's a consumer collectible, which you can use in studio, but it's too V-shaped.
770s have been used in studios for decades now, mainly during recording/tracking since they are closed back, not as much for mixing/mastering.
