    Thank you for your great production and review on the Beyerdynamic DT series. Just purchased both the 700 and the 900. Fantastic results. Luke, appreciate your thoughtful style in delivery assessments regarding these headphones. Looking forward to seeing your other video productions. Subscribed.

    Spot on review. Just received these and find them to be very good. A bit of a "V" curve but not so much that it will harm mixes. I found the 770s to be sharper in the high-mids. These fit my preferred sound profile better.

    Question: is the ear cup pad opening smaller than others like the DT990? Will that then rub on your ear lobe?

    Are you keeping them or you have to send them back? If I were you I would change pads for leather ones to see if they sound better. You probably gonna get better bass but slightly less soundstage. I had 770s, 1770s, 990s and 1990s I love them except 1770s they went back after few weeks and after pandemic hit had to sell them all. I relly miss my Beyers especially 990s soundstage and 770s bass. Im on the market for new cans my pics are 770s, 990s or 700X, 900X. Have you ever reviewed AKG 702/712pro. Apparently those are soundstage monsters and are on my list aswell.

    Does it have a boomy bass like the Sony WH-1000XM4?

      Nope. It has an accurate bass range

      @@ombhatt8235 I returned them because too much bass. DT 900 Pro X is much better choice.

      @@primarqo I used it with standard devices like iPad, and now I use it with a dac with makes it uniform for all frequencies.

    • @primarqo
      @primarqo ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ombhatt8235 I used it with audio interface which of course has DAC inside, it definitely is not uniform, too much bass even there where it shouldn't be.. Dunno, if there is big difference between units, but I simply couldn't listen to lot of my music, it has also much less mids than it should have. It was useless for gaming and communication while gaming. Besides that DT 900 Pro X is great in every area I mentioned, great ballanced sound, almost not leaking sound outside/inside, great highs, great mids, good bass and thanks god I don't have that subwoofer mounted on my head, which was really pain after several hours. But with one thing you said I have to agree - immediately after I received package with DT700ProX, I started listening to spotify on my working NTB, without DAC, it was sounding like cheap crap, I immediately switched back to my old audiotechnica m50x, which is btw also much better allrounder than DT 700 Pro X.

      Got mine DT 700 last Week.
      Bought them for listenig Music on my Smartphone and Tablet (both Samsung).
      They sounds absolutely great! Loud enough in my Opinion.
      Soon i will put them also in my twentyfive Years old HiFi-Device - i don't know the exactly Word for "Stereo - Anlage" ;-)
      These Headphones are worth the Money.

      I agree that it is a yes. They have that "fun" flavor of a consumer headphone while also being appropriate for studio use. Also great that the impedance gives them plenty of volume on a smartphone. Doesn't take much at all to drive them.

    • @primarqo
      @primarqo ปีที่แล้ว

      I think, 900 Pro X is much better allrounder, 700 is good only for music also not for all genres.. 900 is great for everything..

    No offence to anyone but the description " studio headphone ' is just a nebulous marketing term.
    Any closed back headphone can be used for recording in the studio. They're just used to allow the person to hear what's being recorded at the same time as listening back to what 's playing. They're not used for mixing the tracks.
    Headphone manufacturers use the term to make people think the headphones must be special.

      honestly yeah, it seems that most audiophile closed backs are just "studio headphones."

      Gaming headphones boost certain frequencies while "mixing headphones" tend to stay flat and are supposed to stay true to sound...

      Most studio pairs come with 1/4 adapter though needed for studio use! If they’re not labeled for studio they won’t come with one.

    I just got the DT 700 Pro X. The first listening was quite disappointing. The clamping force of these headphones is too strong for my liking. For critical immersive music listening enjoyment I find the overall sound quality wanting on all levels. I was a bit shocked actually. The overblown low end, the flimsy mids and washed out highs are not my cup of tea. The instrument separation is ok but the overall balance is dreadful. I won't use these cans for any music listening but demoted them for internet audio only when things get noisy in the room.
