@@capswole81 nah they do 5s and 6s all the time for DE, particularly with lighter lifters. Louie told me in person to do 6x6 about 3 months before this vid was filmed/uploaded (that said it's not actually DE - Dmitry's first language isn't English so I presume it was just an error and/or he just means they were trying to lift as fast as possible during the sets).
no they alternate between bench variations. like next week they might do flat bench or floor press and occasionally overhead press. At westside they always do alternate between different variations of the main lifts
@@sarahjenkins33 Thanks for the reply, I don't squat or dead-lift due to an old injury so being an elite level powerlifter, for me, is out of the question. I'm working on getting my bench to an elite level, but due to being restricted on lifts I'm assuming I could bench the world and it wouldn't matter.
Colton12 to be at Westside you need to pass a test at the gym they have tryouts every once and a while idk when you can check there site or call the gym.
@@sarahjenkins33 Westside has had a few bench specialists over the years. George Halbert and Kenny Patterson are probably the most well known. JM Blakely, Travis Bell, and Nick Winters (I believe) were also bench specialists. Nick Winters was also one of the first people to bench 700 raw

Для меня до сих пор кажется чем-то невероятным попасть из нашего Челябинска в Вестсайд...))
Why have you called the repetition method speed bench?
Was thinking the same thing lol
THEY LIFT THINGS UP AND PUT THEM DOWWWN
Competition bench has a pause
Right… the speed bench is 3 reps at most. And those lifts were slow

So basically:
1. ME Effort exercise
2. Supplementary exercise
3. Tricep exercise #1
4. Tricep exercise #2
5. Back exercise #1
6. Back exercise #2
7. Shrugs - am i right?
Lars Mogensen basically but shrugs can be you’re second back movement last movement is usually some type of shoulder raise or rear Delt work.
Only useful is bench press
thanks for the tip Andre
np if you'd like to know more : for squats squat. For deadlift deadlift :O no fancy bands or supplementary exercises needed
Andre Ledo lmao people in this video incline benching your deadlift and you're trying to give advice.
Does anybody know the brand of that chest-support seated row machine, the old plate loaded style?
+ImportWade well that is a hammer strength rowing machine, but i guess it's from the time when they opened :D
I think it's an old old (like 20 years old) hammer strength one
Thats training...💪💪💪💪💪💪
D puttin in work!
Do you usually set the bench at 30 or 45 degrees

Decline bench and any thing decline triceps is killer!
Do you still train there?
How many lbs ?
all of them
How does one train here? I'm 165lbs with a 265lb bench, how much stronger do I need to be?

@Becoming Godsize first song when they're incline benching.
Anyone have an idea of what ME or DE refers to?
ME means max effort and DE means dynamic effort. If you wanna learn the basics of conjugate give the Westside barbell book of methods a read.

THAPOPE504 it’s max effort day
@@jasonmack2718 AT 1:58 THE VIDEO CAPTION SAYS SPEED BENCH PRESS
