    Is max effort deadlifting a part of Crossfit? I personally love max effort deads and most of what I see in Crossfit is body weight or Olympic (I also love those) lifts.

  • @daniel213141
    @daniel213141 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    When you are doing the partial deadlift, you don't go all the way to the knees, there shouldn't be a problem there. Sitting far enough back in the chair should help too for both full and partial deadlifts.

      He is the man, but I dare to venture that he might be getting old. Every exercise he finds a way to sit down half way into the exercise. Joking.
      Also, I'm not insulting Louis for what he is doing, but are Crossfiters actually going to use any of this stuff? If so great.

    Ive used this for the past two weeks now....when arching for partial rep I seem to be pulling the bar directly into my shins rather than up (i know this will happen to some degree) So my question is, should there be a certain height or shin angle? Im 6'3 and generally pull conventional. Thanks.

    • @theDudeAbid3s
      @theDudeAbid3s 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Charles Thorpe so in that since, it would be like you were rowing a boat, but the oars were knocking into your knees before you fully extended... So push against the floor with the feet.

    • @johntrains1317
      @johntrains1317 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Charles Thorpe use the same height where your hips would be when pulling without the chair. It's only there to stop your hips from dropping, so put the chair right below the final position your hips are at at the very beginning of the pull, when you're pulling the slack out the bar. That's what I do at least

    Why a chair? Isn't a folding chair in severe risk of collapsing? Why not at least a bench?

    • @billybrothers2492
      @billybrothers2492 8 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      Dude don't worry about if it's a chair or a bench or a girls face, just sit on something with a relative same height as presented in the video

    • @anissueofursincerity
      @anissueofursincerity 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Billy Brothers
      It's a good movement, I use it.
      My concern was safety. Folding chairs are flimsy things. People imitate the moves they see on YT, sometimes beginners who don't particularly know what they are doing.

      Severe risk of collapsing? I'm sure if the girl weighs say 60kg and the barbell is roughly the same then it's fine 😐😂 use a spare bench or something. If you're so worried then maybe you shouldn't lift at all

  • @juliawilliams1355
    @juliawilliams1355 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Fine for sumo but so many people start with their hips way too low on conventional already, so I cant agree with this.
    Also holy fuck all the people not knowing who he is is fuckimg embassasing lol

    • @maxxxmodelz4061
      @maxxxmodelz4061 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's fine if they know how to pull with their hips, which this teaches in good form. The problem with raised hips in conventional is that many people do not employ proper form and higher hips often means they will break the bar off the floor using too much lower back.

    • @juliawilliams1355
      @juliawilliams1355 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Maxxx Modelz They're not breaking the bar off the floor with their back, they're rounding their back to get their hips closer to the bar at the beginning of the lift. Correlation =/= causation. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

    • @maxxxmodelz4061
      @maxxxmodelz4061 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@juliawilliams1355 Well clearly in this exercise off the chair, the back is maintained in a straight and slightly arched position, chest up, throughout the range of motion even in the conventional example. If it's coached correctly and rounding is addressed by the trainer, then it should not be a problem. Her form was excellent in both the sumo and conventional examples in the video.

    • @juliawilliams1355
      @juliawilliams1355 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Maxxx Modelz most likely it is inefficient and wasting energy because your hips will be too low. This is great if you're in a suit and need to sit back into it to generate more force, not good for raw

    • @maxxxmodelz4061
      @maxxxmodelz4061 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@juliawilliams1355 Well I disagree but to each their own. The form on exhibit here is still very good for raw in my opinion.

      There are only two options:
      1. Everybody ends up in the new heaven/earth for eternity.
      2. Everybody burns in hell for eternity.
      No other options.
      And if option nr. 2 happens, then, satan and his non-human/human followers are right about God.
