    I wasn't able to link the video directly to the foundation as SMF is not currently set up through the system TH-cam uses but a separate donation will be made on behalf of Vector 3D and its viewers for the ad revenue generated from this video.
    FYI, the fundraiser event mentioned in the video happened at E3D on 11/6/22.

    Since most video views occur in the first week or two I have made a donation approximately double the current ad revenue for this video and that should cover its lifetime income.

    Adam was working with Slice Engineering at some point wasn't he? And honestly - RIP Sanjay. He was so charismatic when it came to these interviews. He was always a great guy to talk with. I remember when E3D almost cut a printer in half with the first carbon fiber prints at MRRF 2019 or so...I think it was actually their first year there as well.

      As far as I can remember I've never worked for Slice Engineering. I do have a video coming soon where they gave me a hotend, not been paid by them though.

    I think this is the most frustrating of all ObXidian videos, having been informed of another delay as of November 23rd 2022.
    I pre-ordered my *two* ObXidian within 22 minutes of the pre-order process opening. I bought my Revo Micro in early May and waited until around a month ago to do the upgrade and only managed 20 hours before discovering my early batch HeaterCore was from a bad batch. E3D had no 24v HeaterCore in stock at the time, so I ordered from a reseller to keep myself printing, who then sent the wrong variant, I explained to E3D that I had a replacement, but this was overlooked three times. I did not feel it was appropriate to inconvenience the reseller by returning the correct replacement they had sent for a refund.
    I have 13 spools of PA6-CF that I can longer use. I have a bunch of Formfutura HDGlass and Matt PLA that cannot be used. I can print ASA and basic PLA only, with the latter not being used through preference. I cannot proceed with the projects these were purchased for.
    I emphasised ordering two nozzles, and this is due to the lack of 0.15mm, 0.25mm and 0.8mm nozzles.
    I am told to be patient by customer support. I have no option, respectfully E3D, you do not understand the frustration.
    I am seeing people showboat their ObXidian nozzles as they tweet about printing phone covers in PLA!?!? They do not realise the multiple ironies in this.
    Being an early adopter/buyer has been a definite negative.
    This is a genuinely frustrating video.
    *update: E3D cancelled my order!

    A creality compatible revo is quite nice actually. I've been so annoyed with the fiddling it comes to mix-matching extruders and hotends due to lack of variation in mount designs. Had to settle for a voron afterburner, but I'd rather take something much less bloated. Ballsy move from E3D to focus entirely on easy nozzle changes with V6's successor. The more I print parts of varying sizes and in different materials, the more painful having a V6 gets.

    • @macacinelecanale
      @macacinelecanale ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it's very nice. Especialy when you think that your printer costs as much as the hotend. Or vice-versa.

      @@macacinelecanale just put my revo on my ender 3 today. It really isn't an ender 3 anymore but it started its life that way. The only thing left ender 3 is most of the frame and the stepper motors.

      @frankearl9285 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@macacinelecanale : It costs about half-ish if you don't buy the nozzle set. It actually rocks compared to Creality's hot end. I've been getting cleaner prints than I've ever gotten out of my machine. When you contemplate that a kit of anything higher end will cost you three times or more than you spend on the Enders...well...

    • @frankearl9285
      @frankearl9285 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@toxicfpv304 : I've not done THAT many mods...just more aggressive belts and tensioners...now the Revo. I'd pay half again more for an Ender with the Revo CR stock on it. It actually makes it cleaner and easier to work with. I'm waiting for the high-flow and Obxidian to be honest. It makes for nozzle swapping being blindingly simple and a high-flow will make for insane print speeds on the Revo being possible and let me pull it off for my pet project involving a new kinematic architecture than a bed-flinger.

      According to their own blogs. They ran into a very obscure manufacturing issue resulting in them not being as hardened as supposed too. They managed to fix it earlier this year and where aiming for proper launch in october. I honestly wont expect till December knowing the demand will be obscene.

    I love my Hemera Revo, but honestly I don't like printing with it. Just out of fear of wearing the nozzles down to quickly. My Prusa mini has been doing the power lifting for me lately.

    • @Vector3DP
      @Vector3DP  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You won't really wear out a nozzle printing normal filament. You only need nozzles like ObXidian for abrasive materials, they contain an additive like carbon fibre.
