Please keep in mind that each install is different and you may need a wiring harness, a radio interface adapter and an antenna adapter, in order to properly install the radio, retain steering wheel controls and other CANBUS functions. Please post any questions that you have in the comments. Please also note that I used a dash kit, in order to transition from a double to single din radio configuration.

I just put this in my 2013 Sequoia - combined w my Crunch 3000 amp and my ported JL ported box this beast boooms! I put a new rear view camera in also, next time the wife gives me a hall pass, i'll put in a front camera too

Hey Great review! Do you know if the radio keeps drawing power when the car is turned off? Would you recommend always removing the display to ensure no power is drawn when the car is off?

From my experience with head units in general, they do not draw constant power, if the accessory wire to the unit is not sending a 12 volt signal. If the head unit is drawing power while the vehicle is off, then the head unit may be wired incorrectly, or the head unit itself is bad. For clarification, when I say head unit, I do mean (radio).
I am looking at an install into a 1991 Mercedes 300SL which their 9" would fit better (an 8" is a more perfect look). I really like the mounting flexibility of Boss compared to Joying or Atoto but I am worried about screen brightness in the sun with the top down. Is the Boss screen bright enough (Joying in 800 nits I think)?
Other concern is quality of the radio itself but you seem to think it is quite good. Does it have DSP?

The screen is fairly bright, however, I have not had the opportunity to view, or test it in direct sunlight. After using the unit for months now, it definitely has some issues, but I can't tell if it's the unit itself, or the proprietary software that enables the UI, for Apple Car and Android Auto Play. The unit does have very low level DSP, in the form of a pre installed crossover and dB controls, but other than that, there is no other DSP features. I do use a separate bass DSP and that coupled with this until gives me a nice improvement in bass quality.
Can you mirror the phone to the screen?

Great review! A few questions: 1. Is the apple carplay wired or wireless? 2. Do it come camera or do I need to purchase separately/second hand? If so, how do you install/sync camera to the system? 3. Is it possible to get Sirius XM radio?
Great questions!
1. Carplay is wired, for both the Apple and Android and also uses the exact same port, which is a con.
2. It does not come with a camera, however, a few companies, such as Amazon, sells a bundle, where a recommended camera is included. Normal after market cameras will come ready to be wired. You must find a reverse trigger on the car (reverse light), a ground and the RCA would run directly to the RCA out on the back of the radio. It's labeled backup camera.
3. The radio is NOT compatible with Satellite radio, however, you can add an XM connect receiver separately and install that with this unit. I hope these answers help.
Does the Adroid auto/ Carplay USB Charge while connected or do you have to switch to the other usb in order to charge? Sounds like a hassle on a long road trip if youre using GPS on carplay

Would have loved to have seen usb demo’s but regardless, I’m sold anyway.
Will it play videos in CarPlay, or allow for casting?
Yeah it’ll play videos. You’ll have to put the parking break on though. OR, like most people just ground the parking break wire or put a toggle switch on the wire. That way you can watch videos or basically do whatever you want while the car is moving.

Can RCA be ran from this head unit back to an aftermarket amo and subwoofer I see the connectors are blue in the rear do the still act as regular sub outs?
I don't remember what the color codes for the RCA output ls, but I can assure you that this until has set, both right and left RCA outs for, front, rear and separate sub outputs. A total of 8 RCA connections, just for amplifiers. Additionally, this unit has multiple video connections for cameras and video in sources, such as a DVD player.

Do you know the difference between this unit (BE10ACP) and the Boss BCPA10? They appear to have identical features.
On paper, from a side by side comparison, I was not able to tell the functional difference between the two. My best educated guess is that the BCPA10 is an older model and that Boss changed the model number in order to track manufacturing of the two models. If I find information to make a more definitive differentiation, I will definitely post it.
BE10ACP is the BOSS Elite version, which features HD 1080p, if I’m not wrong, display. BCPA10 is the standard version with a SD display.

yes with bluetooth. carplay and android auto are wired only.

I've heard that others have done it.
It depends on if the camera is 6 or 12 volts. Nissan uses a 6 volt factory camera that will burn out if you connect to an aftermarket unit. You would have to use a step down transformer to make it work.

No. That is done on your phone with carplay or android auto
Having this installed by a technician near me. However, the con of apple CarPlay being wired seems to be the only downfall for me. Is there an adapter or something I can purchase to install , so I can use Apple CarPlay wirelessly? Not sure if this is possible to do.
It’s not an option yet. But, the sound suffers with any wireless application.
@@jameshawelu4916 very true. Unfortunately, BT technology is not developed and reliable enough to produce the same sound quality as a hard wired connection. Thank you for this comment.

Android auto allows, but Apple Carplay does not.

You have to use the Sirius app in Android/CarPlay.
Could I connect an HDMI to USB converter to play games?
Yes
Had a issue with the volume changing to call volume and had to turn car off to get back to main volume
I have also noticed that the BT talk volume has its own mind, but I haven't figure out if it's user error, or an issue with the radio. I do notice that this problem doesn't seem to be an issue in Apple Car Play. I will make a video outlining issues that I've had.
How long does it take to boot up?
Only a few seconds. In my opinion, boot time is reasonable for a unit of this size.
About 12 seconds.
How come apple car play and android auto doesn’t let me click on those ?
You have to have a phone plugged into the USB interface cord marked Apple Play/Android Auto. This unit does not have BT Apple Car Play or Android Auto.
Can you take out the screen and put it back on
Yes you can I have one it’s like the old school detachable Faith radio you can pull the whole screen out
Android Auto is fine....You just have to use a compatible usb wire and not just any over the counter one.

No. Not supported file.
Mkv videos but they have to mp3 audio I used a video converter on my phone to make the right files for the videos to play

Yes. The easiest way to do this is download an app that will allow you to mirror the phone on your radio. For Android I use an app called AA mirror. I have not found a comparable app for IPhone that doesn't require me to jail break the phone.
@@ladyj.electronics7882 You need a HDMI to AV Converter, along with a HDMI to Lightning Adapter to connect IPhone. You can watch youtube. Basically it is mirroring your IPhone. Quality is decent. Definitely viewable. Each component needs to be powered. It's not difficult but you need to plan it out.
