    Thank you for this. For those just checking now, I used the Creality Ender-4 because the 3 is no longer an option and it worked perfect. I'd been searching for a week for how to approach this issue and this video perfectly addresses it. Thank you!

    You're definitely one of my new favourites maker. Your ingenuity, self troubleshoot skills, and clear not to technical talk has me seeing you gain many subs in the future. I just recieved my Kobra this afternoon and man, what a breeze from build to print (I also own Voxelab Aquila X2, Ender 2 Pro, Flsun SR). I always worry and wonder why these companies don't get the profile to Cura before release to get it implemented to make it almost a seamless experience. My test owl print came out fantastic and with no fiddling around with bed knobs for 15 minutes I'm just in awe for this price. With the included filament profile files if you open it up with notepad you can dissect the setting they recommend. Turns out I just added a Ender 3 (not Pro) when adding printer, adjust bed size and Bob's your uncle!

    Thanks for the video!Your settings are great!Kobra Plus - Before I go any further the machine is easy to built and setup up and do a 1st print via the supplied "owl Gcode" BUT after 4 days of quite frankly messing about I'm now printing with PETG,240 initial 235 print, 80 bed,initial line width & flow - 140.
    Very disappointed with the software supplied based on the profiles and the cura setup which didin't work at all for me, brims layed down fine and skirts but then the model print would not lay at all.
    The owl GCODE print printed very nicely but the printer doesn't come with any set up for the print on Cura.I normally work with PETG on a Snapmaker original but wanted to buy another printer to do a comparison and make more models at once, snap maker works everytime all the time with no issues.I really think Anycubic should update buyers with a new cura setup and updated profiles which would help new users immensly.Buyers beware , be ready for a few days of a headache!
    Update: I have emailed Anycubic(very good btw) and they sent me a profile for PLA which printed great finally, on both PLA and PETG.
    I had adhesion issues with the glass plate which I have now swapped for a PEI steel mag base which has now printed 5 models with no adhesion issues at all, recommended. I have never used a glass bed before so I am a major novice but I lost patience with it!!!😁 But at least for very little outlay it is now printing great!💯

I used the recommended settings and my supports sucked they were in a zig zag pattern and really messy. I also have a biqu b1 and it prints really clean with only changing the infill and the print speed is works perfectly. I am sure it is because I need to tweak the setting in cura. So now that you’ve had the Kobra and VYper for a month together does the direct drive on the Kobra make up for the smaller printer bed and single z axis or no? Which of the two would you choose as your first printer or just in general?

    • @macymakes3d
      @macymakes3d  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I honestly prefer the vyper. I still want to make a video on this, I just haven’t had time. I’ve struggled to get a consistent first layer on the kobra but I have 2 vypers and both had perfect prints out of the box. The kobra does print faster but I print mostly at night and the higher speed makes it too loud so I can’t fully utilize that anyway. My vote is vyper 👍🏼

    • @WeTheDylan
      @WeTheDylan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@macymakes3d So I ended up getting the Kobra because of a few things, its $220 cheaper than the Vyper in Canada, its a bit smaller and I don't have a lot of space, the speed is nice and I wanted the direct drive for printing TPU without issue. I can add the second z-axis screw later on if needed I figure. As for the first layer, I printed the Owl that comes on the sd card and had a sold first layer, I also printed a benchy, solid first layer as well. I know very little about this but you may want to talk to another youtuber called StudioZombie 3D, he was able to help me with the cura profile and settings, dude seems to have the magic touch.

    Im two days into setting up my Kobra with your settings and I'm having issues. This is my second printer so I have the basics down I believe. First calibration cube I printed went well. My X axis could be smoother. Second print the nozzle just kept driving into the bed. After a restart and fresh bed level and z axis calibration it was printing again. So far the nozzle dripping knocked off two prints very easy. The benchy fails each time about 8% in. I tried printing a bracket but came back into the room to find a spaghetti mess. The owl printed very well though. Do you guys notice clicking sounds from your stepper motors? I was thinking I have too much tension on the belts but it barely went away when loosening them up. Hoping not to have to return this one from all the positive reviews Ive been seeing.

    • @tackletestdummy9096
      @tackletestdummy9096 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@1father1 I have messed with my tensioners but that wasn't the culprit. I had two fixes in my case. The first was that my nozzle was dragging over my supports before starting a new layer. I had to add "Lift over supports" in Cura which is surprising why it wasn't programmed to do so in the first place. Second was my z offset. I really had to squish the filament to get it to stick. Im running -0.95 z offset from -0.80(light resistance with a sheet of paper)and my prints improved drastically. They now stick and with the support dragging issue fixed my prints no longer get punted off by the nozzle.

    hello, could you share the cobra settings file for PrusaSlicer? Or make a manual for setting up a PrusaSlicer for a cobra. Thanks your video review helped me a lot.

    Hello, I am very new to 3d Printing and looking for assistance. I have Kobra Go and I can only get two items to print. The others I have tried, but then it seems to work fine at first, but then the nossel seems to catch what it already has printed and drags that around and creates a mess. Thoughts?

      Hi! You could try turning on “z hop when retracted” in cura and you can also try using a thin layer of a glue stick on your print bed to hold the prints down. Just use a wet paper towel to wipe the bed clean afterwards.

    Does it also translate to the Kobra go because they seem to be basically the same

    I added the Kobra Vyper, and then tried finding Kobra go, but it wasn't there.

    Hi, I have a doubt. I accidentally deleted the files on my micro SD memory and I am new to my printer. I tried to put STL files but it doesn't read them. Do you know how I could fix that?
