i got this printer almost a week ago and for most of the time i was troubleshooting because it didn't work how it should have, this video saved me, thank you so much
Great to hear! Happy printing! I am making a few more videos so stay tuned! Cheers!
Amazing video! Super instructive, thanks for taking the time to teach all this!
Thank you so much for this wonderful indepth step by step video. Out of the box, this printer was nothing short of dreadful, printing a hole bunch of plastic stringy bits! Hoping following this will resolve my issues! 🥰
Hi! Check my unboxing video, it may be handy! I am also making a video to get perfect first layers with our printer.
So, guys its been 2+ weeks since I got my first 3D printer, Kobra Neo. And I have to say I'm kind of obsessed with 3D Printing and I have learn a lot! Thanks to this video I looked into OctoPrint, custom Gcodes, custom firmware and ended up using Klipper. I have to say its kind of hard if you don't know anytyhing about linux, servers and that kind of stuff (I do have experience) but at this point I have a cheap Android TV T95 Mini running klipper and printing with PETG. almost perfect prints. This is a nice printer, Just wanted to thanks you for your videos, learned a lot!
WOWWWW! I am really happy to read you are learning a lot! This printer is cheap, has nice features and can let you do some nice "mods" if you are willing to get into firmware changes (like Klipper) or linux (like Rpi, Android, etc.). Bytw, when you changed the firmware to klipper you lost the LCD screen right? Thanks!
@@hojustraper I did lost the screen, I even remove it from the printer. To be honest, I thought that was going to be difficult, but Mainsail (or fluid) have great UI and I can do the same stuff with my phone. So now I don’t really remember that there was once a screen. I would encourage you to change to Klipper, it’s kind of frustrating at first, but once you get it, it would be way better (and no Z calibration every time).
Worderful ! You saved me days of work and researches🙂
Glad it helped mate!
fixed all my printing problems 👌 thanks
I am supler glad to hear it was useful!!!!!
Thank you for this great tutorial
Glad you liked it!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much you helped a lot, amazing!
You're welcome! I am morge than happy to help!
Thank you so much my kobra print perfect
Thanks for that! Now it's working for me as well :)
Great!
Wow i know nothing of 3d printing until i watched this!
Hi! That is how we all learn right? Thanks to the effort of the community that shares their knowlegde...
Thank you so much!!!!👏
HI! I am really glad that it was useful!
Excellent tutorial! Can you use these g-code/slicer settings for anything you print with PLA or does it vary with the object you are printing?
Thanks!!! I use the same G-CODE for all my prints, sometimes I modify something to try to improve it, but always the same codes bedore and after the prints.
great video!!, i wonder that kobra neo has direct driver and based on the forum they said the retraction distance should range 0.5 to 2.0 mm whereas in the kobra neo suggested parameter is 6 mm which is for bowden extruder, which is the correct one? and also the kobra neo firmware canceled retraction speed above 25mm/s
Hi! Thanks for your nice words! What you have read is true! Bowden retraction distances are usually above 6 mm and direct extruders around or below 2 mm. I would say that the retraction distance depends on many factors like temperature, quality of the filament, but also the extruder motor and the gear system. The best way to find your retraction/speed values should be doing retraction towers and temperature towers so that you can fine tune the best values for your printer and your filament. Probably once you get the "perfect" value you will change filament and the story repeats again and again :). In the future I am planning to do a whole series of videos showing how to fine tune our printer. Hopefully it will help others to learn a little bit. Thanks!
thx mate
thank you so much
You're welcome! Happy to help!!!
Hi! Thanks for the video. I also have one Kobra Neo, but I have an issue that I can't resolve. When printing a file, If I pause for filament change (either through Cura Filament Change/Pause at Height options, or manually through display button), when print resumes this start printing about 1mm above the last layer. Do you havent this issue with your Neo? Best Regardsss!!!
Hi! I have sent an email to Anycubic because when I print and pause the print, I get some additional filament out after resume.
This settings are configured in the firmware configurations of the printer (github.com/ANYCUBIC-3D/Kobra_Neo/tree/master/source/Marlin). I am trying to find out how to flash the printer with my own requirements, but I failed in the first try and I am trying to find some time to try it again.
Let us know if you find a solution!
Great tutorial. I just buy Anycubic Kobra 2 Neo and i am wonder can in use your G Setting on Anycubic Kobra 2 Neo?
Regards
Gcodes are useful for any printer. You just need to do some fine tuning. Good luck!
After doing the bed leveling there’s still difference from left to right on my printer. Scrapes on paper under the nozzle left but loose on the right side.
Any tips on fixing this?
How close do you have your nozzle to the bed? I have been using z offset to just scrape with paper inserted and then back off by two clicks.
Thanks
Hi! If one is higher that the other you need to make the gantry paralel to the bed. For that you seed to use something with the same height of both sides of the gantry and tighten the POM wheels. It takes a while till you get it perfect. Nevertheless, the ABL should let you print even if your gantry is tilted.
Is it necesery to chainge the en and start g code in cura? Btw this vidio was very helpfull
It is not necesary, it depends on you. I did it because some manufacturers, like Ender or Prusa, print priming lines before the actual print... so it made sense to me to have one... BUT, it is not mandatory.
Will these work for my kobra neo 2?
Thanks
Welcome
I haven been able to get start and end codes, please help. And thank you for video.
all my neo does now is go to the top left and just keeps the filament flowing any suggestions thanks
Hey man, realy tank you for this video, im new at the print and your video realy help me, can you make a video or a little short for explaind who reglate the plate in the kobra neo? mine are not the same level at the 4 corners, i just no know who repair this nicely, and sorry for my english, not my language country
Hi! The print plate is fixed, maybe your gantry is tilted to one side, for that you need to adjust the POM wheels that spin in the V slots. It is a goos idea to start with that. You first need to make both sides have the same height from the bed and then tighten the POM wheels. If the tilt/warp is not that much, your ABL should take care of it without trouble.
why is autolevel disabled on the g-code?
i have leveling problems since i using this g-code and dont know how to fixit
Hi!
The G29 code is disabled because I don´t make an autolevelling every time I make a print just to make everything go faster. In my case I use G29 when I modify something, nozzle, gantry, or take the PEI sheet, otherwise I have seen that everything remains perfectly level as you can see in the video (within Octoprint plugin).
In the GCODE I provide, you can uncomment the G29 code and use it before every print!
Let us know how it goes and if you need any help!
Will this same setup work for the kobra 2 neo?
Also, can you give us any tips on calibrating the printer?
Hi! I have recorded all the material but I need to take the time and edit it to make it clear and functional, I even made an animation for it! It will come in the following weeks. I am kind into many activities that I don't want to leave unattended. But it will be of great value. Thanks for your support!
Is the settings same for kobra 2 neo?
Thanks for this video. I've had this printer for about a week and when it's printing correctly, it is dead nuts accurate. When it's not, results are kind of disastrous. I'd selected the Anycubic Kobra from the Cura menu and it seems like it didn't mesh well for this printer. We'll see how it goes with the official Anycubic profile for this machine.
Hi! The most important step is to get the propper z-offset and maybe some E stepper calibration, mine was understruding. Hopefully the prints will come better and better!
Is this gcode only for using with octoprint, or you can use it without octoprint?
Hi! The gcode is used (in my case) whitin the Cura slicer.
Here you have the Gcodes to add to your slicer of choice: github.com/valkanoise/Anycubic_Kobra_Neo/blob/main/G-Codes
hello cura is not letting me paste the codes that you have had on the link so i had to type them in. Is there a space before and after all the ; ?
I have the same printer, every time I turn off the printer I have to calibrate the Z-offset, because for some reason the values stays, but is not accurate. Is there any way to avoid this?
Hi, just to be sure maybe you can use Marlin´s commands to store the settings in the EEPROM using the M500 command (marlinfw.org/docs/gcode/M500.html). Then you can reboot the printer and use M503 to check the valuer were stored or not (marlinfw.org/docs/gcode/M503.html).
Now i am really confused
Ive got a Anycube Kobra Neo = Have no idea how to set it up on Octolapse But still trying to sort the Printer and Ultimaker
What is the G Code for printing that line please
Here you have it my friend: github.com/valkanoise/Anycubic_Kobra_Neo/blob/main/G-Codes
Hello, I also have an Anycubic Kobra Neo and I am trying to connect it to Octoprint without Raspberry. But I cannot change the serial port even though my printer is recognized as CH340 (COM3) so no connection possible and the anycubic and octoprint support cannot find the solution. Can you help me please?
THANKS
how is this printer now after 4 months of use? Planning to get this but unsure
I like the printer but I encourage you to do some research and check what is available nowadays.
Do you have a link for that cable reel???
Printables my friend
When i try to import the printer profiles for the neo Cura says the file is an unknown type or corrupt. Is this a common issue how can i proceed :/
false Alarm! anycubic has modified the download and the PLA file needs to be extracted from the rest in order to import.
I¨ve got kobra 2 neo, is it different?
Yes my friend, they are different printers. The basic idea is the same, but I don't have a Kobra2 to test.
in the web of anycubic the suggested parameter dissapear. Can you upload the file please?
Hi mate! Here you have a working link: cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0245/5519/2380/files/Kobra_Neo_Suggested_parameters_for_PLA_V1.curaprofile?v=1669192662
Thank youuu!!!!!!
Hi how do we set up octoprint?
Hi! You have several options: cellphone, raspberry pi, computer and docker containers. I have tried all of those and the one I use the most is the computer version.
It wouldn't downlaod the profile part for me can u help me please
Hi, in anycubic´s website you can find all the profiles.
nothing happens when i hit "configure setting visibility" =(
I’m saving money to buy the neo so I needed to know the things to make it work thx btw yours doesn’t look like a neo 🤨🤨
Dear friend, it is a Kobra Neo. I would do some extra research, there are many good 3d printers out there...
De donde eres? tienes un acento tirando a latino..
