Hi! My name is Macy. I taught 7th grade math for 6 years and now I make art using 3d printers. I mainly make videos about my design/printing process using Adobe Illustrator and TinkerCad, and I also show some behind the scenes content for my 3D print shop.
Thank you so much for watching and being apart of my little community. Your support means the world to me and I'm excited to be on this 3d printing journey with you guys.

The evos palithemas? What??
In response to your comment of feeling comfortable printing the exotic filaments in your home, have you heard of the VoxelPLA bento box? They also just released a HEPA13 Filter w/ charcoal specifically for the Bambu enclosed printers. Being familiar with Hazardous Materials and VOCs, it was always a concern of mine as well with the ABS/ASA types but reading through all of the studies and work they did for the product.. I ordered 2. Just thought I'd pass along a great product I found to make me feel better about printing in my home and maybe able to expand product lines.
Do you ever run into issues with the cardboard rolls in the AMS unit?
What exactly is the function of a purge tower?
New to your channel, love your videos 👏👏👏
Macy, you are seriously so fine! forget the 3D printing, you’re the real model
Have you thought of a Viking head done the same as the skeleton head I.E. a hairy skeley head - just for us Viking’s …
Well done, I just started learning about this all. Cant wait to go through more of your videos!
Great video Macy keep it up 👍 I currently use the Sunluu S1 and its been decent enough but thinking about upgrading
I love the rainbows! Is the glow in the dark one PLA?
Not sure if this was mentioned but in your spine pieces, you could add a cylinder modifier to print without the holes.
I have the S4 and simply dry tpu, abs etc in it and it comes out well. So i dig they created a monster that can heat up to 100C but then like you point out the space needed for that you are limited to 2 spools. So you would need 3 of those machines to feed a prusa XL with drying filament while printing. Also you talk about fumes, get a enclosure and a filtersystem. It's not like PLA printing is so healty for you...
You cut open a reusable ziplock filemant bag. You don't save those? Waste of a good way to store filament.
It’s big because it’s an annealing oven that you happen to be able to put filament in. It’s priced way too high for that though. A decent laboratory oven is like $300 and they’re designed to dry things at precise temperatures. Dry filament in lab oven, place in $40 dry box to print, then place completed print straight into 90 degree lab oven to anneal. I just can’t see the appeal of this at $1k.
Happy new year Macy .
wait you can make your own air pillows?! :O
I'm glad that they're pushing the max temp higher! I tried printing some sunlu epa a while back and it just wouldn't dry fully even with my sunlu s2 dryer at its max temp so I ended up using the printer's heated bed to dry it fully. Some filaments are just incredibly hygroscopic. It's also great to see that they have something that accommodates larger spools!
Wouldn't the cost of electricity, filament, machines ect negate any real profit?
Macy where do you get thoser spools that you can buy spoolless filament on?
It is large like that so it can handle 3kg spools
A tad hard to follow.
I have the S4 and i love it. I only print PLA too.
Hi Macy, loving your "A Day in the Life" vids, they're very inspirational, educational and entertaining. I noticed during this video while performing the maintenance on your printer that you were using the standard style Allen key tools to take the AMS apart. Could I suggest (it's personal preference obviously) getting some Allen key tools that are popular with Remote Control car/buggy racers. They're an absolute game changer and make life much easier for working on these printers. I've tried to attach a link to the tools but TH-cam won't let me, is there a way I can contact you to send the link?
I see the Shop Nation editing inspiration, really digging it and it's coming across very pro. Keep it up!
Might I ask what brand of pipe cutter you’re using? It seems so much easier to use than the one I got
How is the noise/Pitch level? I"ve got a comgrow i had to mod the fans for to make it bearable. I print next to my computer desk, and the filament dryer was higher pitched than my printer or computer.
Hi Macy, for a better test of the dryer, I would use filament you have already in the open for a longer time. Weigh it before you put it in the dryer and afterwards, to figure out how much water you have actually removed with the drying process and if it is really is necessary in your shop. And keep an eye on the room humidity and how it changes over the year.
Thanks for the tips :) Sometimes when you make a video for a company they have plans for the video that are outside of your control but I'll try to work in your ideas in future videos when I'm able.
Could you do a video on how you work out your pricing? I’m looking into starting up a 3d printing business but don’t know how to work out the pricing
Is PLA not (that) unhealthy to print with then? Thanks again, you rock! 😂
Haha as far as I know it’s “ok” to print. None of this is probably that healthy but it’s the least harmful.
I don't think your issue with the screen location is you being picky. It's not very usable in any location where space is tight. Like any print farm or printer shoved into any space that is limited.
I can't believe the size. It looked ok when placed it on your bench, but when you moved it to beside the printer, wow. It's very big for only two spools. Agree with screen position. It's not very practical. On the other hand, the higher temps are what will sell this dryer. Thank you for your videos and Happy New Year.
Yeah I think the higher temps and the annealing will sell this one. But still, it's pretty large. Happy New Year!
TPU through a Bowden tube is a bold choice!
Living dangerously
I definitely agree with the screen comments. Having it on the long side just makes it take up so much more shelf space.
Great videos!
Hmm $1470.60cad for 2 Rolls? too pricey for me PASS .. Thanks for the Review
Do you think an ams lite would fit in it? Could they be planning on the Comunity to be putting their ams lites right in it flat?
Happy holidays! Thanks for continuing to make videos
Thank you! Happy holidays to you too :)
Until you said it holds 2 spools I thought it was going to hold 4.
I also thought it's big so it must hold 4 spools, disappointed that it can only hold 2.
It looks to be about 20% not as wide as the S4. Definitely needs the screen on the small side, and I would love to see filament grommets coming out the bottom.
It's not just a filament dryer as it is also used for post processing the 3d printed parts by a process called annealing and that is why it has a large volume. Annealing is a process that elinimates internal stress (prevent warping and cracking), enhances mechanical properties like strength and toughness and improves surface quality. Annealing also promotes material crystallization which can boost heat and chemical stability.
Cool thank you for helping me understand annealing! I don't have an engineering background and these materials were all new to me so I had no idea what that function was meant for. Glad I do now :)
Wow very cool ❤❤
:( no price
used alot of sunlu and e-sun filament . its very good and price is good and best part is quick delivery from amazon ! I maunly use bambu but when i get stuck sunlu is my goto filament
Thanks for the review. I backed the kickstarter for the S4 and never received the machine. So, Sunlu is a no-go for me, but always appreciate progress.
Dang that's no good! I'm sorry that happened to you. Glad you still took time to watch the video :)
I was grinning all the way through the filament listing :-)
Hahahaha I had no idea what any of that was
I use a food dehydrator. Does 70 c and holds 10 spo9ls no prob.
Which one
Love your videos keep them coming hopefully they reach out and send me one of these as well.
Finally a dryer that can reach higher temperatures. Curious to see what it will be priced at when it launches on the 8th January.
Your review was Tastefully done. Nice job.
Thank you so much :)
I got the S4 Sun Lu Dryer, which as you said holds 4 spools of filament. ( oh yes and 2 of the sun lu S1's and yes they work well for PLA, TPU, PETG ) And my S4 can do all the high temp filaments as they all show on the touch screen! So this as you pointed out only holds 2 spools. So no reason to get this one when you could get the 4 spool S4 dryer. Better value since it can do the same filaments but 2 more spools. This one seems pointless, As the S4 is better and does the same. Why they bring out the 2 spool one if the 4 spools one is doing the same job but with 2 more spools? The screen should really be on a plug in data cord then you could place the dryer where you need and still use the screen! In your case you have to put up a shelve on the wall above the printer then the dryer can be sat side on so the screen is seen.
I think one of the big selling points for this one is the annealing mode. I didn't touch on it much in the video since I would've needed to print more with the advanced filaments to be able to test that out. I think that's why it is so big
Nice! I just got a big one myself for Christmas!
Sweet! Merry Christmas :)
