Tesla FSD v12.3 VS Pedestrians (Compilation)

- I've driven Tesla's latest update to FSD v12.3 for at least 10 hours in all sorts of places. This is a compilation of FSD encountering pedestrians and (mostly) successfully navigating them.

Thank you for doing this, without people like you, FSD would never get where it needs to be. 🙏
Great compilation! I've been wanting to see more of these. We're almost there!!
It's really not almost there..
@@themodfather9382 Going with the MSM, huh?
@@StaticFreq scary
@@themodfather9382 I do suggest watching Farzads interview with James Douma. Excellent.
You will see the coming bleeding edge 👀
Nice video! One of my concerns is how FSD handles bikes coming alongside the vehicle when you're turning? For example, turning right, but a bicycle is coming alongside on the right to go straight through the intersection. Have you experienced that and how did FSD handle that?
Great video! My question is when you are in auto mode driving close to stopped traffic as they are loading and unloading people and things, if you did a slight toot on your horn to warn them of your movement, would this cancel the auto driving? Your Kevin video reviewing the drive WAS Fantistic! Like and Subscribed! Fantastic! Thanks!
4:40 When Tesla fails to display pedestrians on the screen, it appears that the vehicle’s pedestrian detection system did not recognize them. Why might this have happened? What are your thoughts?
I suspect the disengagement was because you waved the people through when they had already stopped completely.
Had you not signaled them to enter the crosswalk the car would have gone ahead of them no problem.
Still, great video for showing off the pedestrian interactions. My own experiences with 12.3 have all been very positive too.
Did it go the wrong way in the parking lot? (about a minute in with the left turn, the cars are all facing towards it and the arrow)
Yep lol, I think they're still working on parking lots, definitely one area that still needs improvement.
What model is this? And what year
2020 Model 3 Long Range, with Hardware 3.
So how many miles between disengagements now?
I wish I had that data. But I'd say this update fixed AT LEAST half the disengagements I used to get on V11. Maybe more like 80% even.
so 20 miles instead of 10 miles@@DeusExTesla
@@themodfather9382 Roughly maybe, but it depends really. If you're on normal roads with normal intersections and turns, it basically works 100% now. There are just some weird edge cases that it will still struggle with.
@@DeusExTesla That's cool, but there's no such thing as "basically 100%" That's why you need an exact measurement. Need several hours of footage
The goal for a self-driving car is like 1 disengagement every 250,000 miles. So like 15 years straight without a crash
@@themodfather9382 I think if you disabled some percentage of really tricky areas, intersections, or whatever, you might be able to achieve that number, or soon based on how big of an improvement this is.
something about the wide angle lens and camera positioning is nausea inducing 🙂along with seeing that horrible smelling pink tree - the two together is a really bad combo lol
Sorry to hear it. In the future I may do videos with a stationary camera. I like doing POV so I can show traffic flow to the left or right, but I do understand it being a bit nauseating.
@@DeusExTesla That angle accentuates every little movement of the vehicle - not pleasant
화면이 너무 움직여서...토 할 거 같아요.

The car didn't think so 🙈
This guy will be waving at the pedestrians as his Tesla is mowing them down.
Not according to the video
It still sucks and at its current price is a robbery.
Current price is there because they needed funding for it. Tesla acknowledges it isnt worth the cost, but is thankful to everyone willing to pay to support the development. Also this is far, far, far from "sucking" you have a car that can drive for hours under normal conditions without need for human input. That is amazing for day to day driving and even road trips. Just because you cant sleep in the backseat yet doesnt mean it is bad.
@@mrperson1324 in it's current state it can't drive for hours without input.
@@mrperson1324 Tesla is thankful that it got away with a scam for 8 years.
@@thatnerdgui3496uhh it already is...
