I have lived in Budapest for almost 9 years. Compared to the US, where I am from, and most other western European countries, the prices in Hungary are much more affordable. However, I know that my US pension is more than what the average Hungarian earns. As a result, you are right, many Hungarians are pessimistic because of the wages. I know many locals who have moved to other countries in Western Europe because of the wages, but I also know many who have returned because of the higher cost of living elsewhere. Persons over 65 do not have to pay for public transport in Budapest. That used to only apply to those from EU countries, but now it applies to anyone who can show proof of their age. I was fortunate to have purchased my flat many years ago, before the prices increased. My housing costs (utilities, wifi, maintenance, etc.) is less than 1/3 of what I paid in the US. And altough the prices at restaurants have increased, I still think that they are cheaper than most European capitals. The worst part about living in Budapest is the language. I have been trying for years to learn Hungarian, but even after years of lessons, I still have a very difficult time communicating. In the city, there is a lot of English, but there are still some small shops where only Hungarian is spoken. It can be a real challenge. Nonetheless, I wouldn't trade it for anywhere. I am thankful to live in this amazing city. Thanks for the video.
Yeah, for Croatia pays are like 800 euros I'd say for most people. Rent went a bit crazy now. Hungary was much cheaper than Croatia, not sure if this is still true today.
judging by the prices quoted in this video I would say Budapest is quite expensive. Very much London prices today (2024) A coffee is about he same and beer more expensive. The travel brochure I picked up 2 days ago for 2024/2025 Staes a beer as £1-80, where as this video says 3 to 5 euro. However, my holiday for June 2025 is booked and I am not going to let, for the sake of a few pounds , spoil it
@@malcolmcarroll9497 I think eating outside in Europe is expensive. Making your own good cheap. Also, maybe find local friends and check for pieces, to make sure they are not scamming you. I know they do that in Croatia sea area :( .
I visit every year....I was surprised how much the prices have went up! Transportation is cheap and if you avoid the tourist areas then you can certainly eat/drink cheaply. Plus Aldi's and Lidls are there if you are in an apartment!

I'm loving your channel. My wife and I are from Portugal and we have planned 4 days in December in Budapest. Your information is invaluable for our planning. Thank you very much.
Цените в ресторантите и магазините са съизмерими с тези в България. За немалка част от хората са високи особено след инфлацията тук, която официално беше 17 процента, но реално е над 30 и повече. One category of visitors is international university students. Public transportation with a valid uni student ID is very, very cheap and you can use the BKK or the Simple app.
I just visited in early July 2024. As an American, working in Germany, Hungary is one of the most expensive countries I've vacationed at. Thankfully, I did get one of those 72-hour passes where the shuttle to/from the airport to the hotel was free. Plus, public transportation was free, certain attractions, like the thermal spas, were discounted or free, like a river cruise. All around, the pass balanced the costs of regular touristy items. I'd visit again! I love Budapest!!!
Now that I've been learning Hungarian for a while, I get the giggles when I hear you say "fast" food ;-) Seriously though, what an abysmal change in cost of living since I started going to Budapest 15 years ago... Even if the city is still relatively affordable, it's already more expensive than some places in Spain or italy. However, Budapest is worth the expense.
Amazing videos; we are coming in Budapest for a conference and your guidelines on how to navigate the city for a couple of days are extraordinary. Thank you so much!
Great vlog, I'm coming to Budapest in a couple of week so this was interesting. I think the most shocking pricing for me was your grocery shopping, the prices seemed comparable for what I pay in the UK, in fact you're paying more for some of your items, you showed some mince beef for 5 euros, but that would cost £2.50 in the UK, plus of course we earn more here so I can imagine that's very difficult for locals over there.
My girlfriend and I spent several days in Budapest at the end of March this year. We absolutely Loved it! We didn't think it was very expensive at all compared to living in the U.S. Your videos were very helpful! Thank You! We hope to return in the very near future, maybe for Christmas. I am a second generation American of Hungarian descent. My last name is an Americanized version of a Hungarian name, but no one seems to know what it originally was or what it means. Thanks for all of the great videos! Bill Chunko
Hey there! Glad to hear you enjoyed Budapest when you visited this year! 😊 I believe that your name may have come from Csankó or Csánkó (these sound similar to the pronounciation of your name). Those words do not have a clear meaning today in the Hungarian language, and while I'm no expert in the name-etymology, to me that signals it's one of the older Hungarian names, it could either be an older version of a word that may have described a place where the family was from perhaps. I found a research paper from N Fodor János detailing names from the Upper Tisza Region from the medieval times and Csankó/Csánkó is listed, but no explanation about the name's meaning, however most people with this name were found at a place called Veréce. Maybe that's some interesting bits of info for you 😊
Thank you for this video. I am in Budapest now with my family of three for 4 days. We live in the San Francisco area USA. So far the prices here are about one third of what we pay in the US. We just left Vienna & Prague & prices in Prague were comparable to here, Vienna was so expensive we just did a lot of walking no eating at restaurants 😅. We are definitely watching the prices here in Budapest during our stay, but will enjoy certain attractions that are worth paying for. Beautiful city so far!❤
Hello! No, it was not a vacation package. I just planned it all out myself. Prague & Budapest are both really cool cities. My family & I were a bit overwhelmed with Vienna, great museums though. You’ll have a great time in all three cities.
I will be visiting Budapest at the end of January for 4 days first time and really looking forward to seeing the beautiful city and the attractions us the hotel Mediterranean a good hotel
Szuper !
Thank you so much! I hope you'll do well in the tournament if you participate, or will enjoy it if you just visit, but generally I just hope you'll have a great time in Budapest 😊
Thanks for mentioning gluten free food. I’m quite wheat gluten intolerant and have gained about 42 pounds since getting on a diet that lets me get nutrition from my food.
Great info to have. I already have a 5 days trip planned to Budapest in September, can't wait to dive into the local cuisine😁 Wold you recommend the tourist pass?
Hey there! if under "tourist pass" you mean the Budapest Card which is like a public transport card that also has discounts for attractions and some free entry to a few selected places, then I would say: it depends 😅 It is very expensive and technically you can get a good value out of it if you plan a lot ahead and visit a lot of places and not at a slow speed... I personally do not recommend it as it is right now, but there are people who can get a lot out of it, hence why I say: it depends 😊 I would say getting a regular pass is good (for 5 days the 15 day pass is good value, not much more expensive than the 72 h pass) and then enjoy the city at your own pace 😊
Hey there! Regarding convenience stores essentially any from the big chains should do, like Lidl, Aldi, CBA or Spar etc. As for Eating houses to be fair I rarely visit ones in the city center, but Cibere Étkezde was simple and tasty when we were there, and I heard good things about Akácfa Étkezde 😊
Last time I was in Budapest , the ticket for 100E was still 900HUF. That being said, 2200 HUF is still a very reasonable price. And if you are going to buy single tickets for the other public transport options, do not forget to validate them.
This was a great podcast- it’s a side of the President’s personality that many people don’t see. Joe Rogan does and what a 3 hours it was. Learned a lot. Knew he had a sense of humor but he’s hilarious. And he’s relatable to everyone -clearly the guy who stands with the blue collar workers and not just at election time. He wants the very best for everyone -
Hello Ákos, I’m a US citizen and I really enjoy your videos. In fact sometimes I wish they were a little longer but they are all definitely packed with interesting information. I am planning a trip to Hungary since I still have cousins who live there. My parents came to the US in 1956 and unfortunately they are gone as are all of my aunts and uncles. So the upside for me is I will be staying with family. I know this is a big ask but I’m wondering if it would be possible for you to also post prices in the US dollar? It has been about 30 years since I have been to Hungary so I am very anxious to see my cousins while we are all still living, as we are all retirees. Anyway I love your videos and it would be awesome if you would be able to post US dollar values. Thank you for all your hard work you put into your videos.
Thank you so much for the message! I hope that when your trip to Budapest comes, you'll have an awesome time here! 😊 We'll see how we can show USD for prices in future videos, thank you for the suggestion 😊
An excellent video that covers a lot. You mentioned that Hungary is expensive for the locals to live. What is the average wage for a skilled and unskilled worker?
Hey there! It's difficult to say as the only information available according to the statistics institution and some articles refering to it is that in Budapest the average net salary is somewhere around 1250 euro/month net. Couldn't find difference between skilled and unskilled, but from this you can imagine that unskilled workers will likely get a lot less 😟
Hey there! In general, I think Budapest is fine when it comes to visiting with a wheelchair but there's a lot of areas where there's room for improvement. Almost all public transport is wheelchair friendly (for buses the driver needs to release a ramp), but there are some older vehicles like the ones used on the scenic line of tram 2 along the Danube river, which is not wheelchair accessible unfortunately. Almost all subway stations are accessible with elevators. In the Budapest Go app you can track the arriving vehicles and if they are wheelchair accessible or not, they are marked with a wheelchair icon. When it comes to exploring Budapest, there may be a few places here and there where the quickest and shortest path between A and B may not be completely wheelchair friendly, but with a slight detour you should be able to get to where you want to go. I have not heard of major complaints, but in general there's room to improve in my opinion. Few attractions like the Labyrinth and the Cave tour in the castle district cannot be accessed with wheelchair unfortunately, but you should be fine at most places you may want to visit. I hope this helps 😊
Hey there! Glad to hear you are looking at Budapest as a potential destination for a trip :) Almost all restaurants will have a Vegetarian option on their menu and they should also list allergens like Egg if its used for a dish. But there are also many dedicated Vegetarian and Vegan restaurants as well. There are many Indian restaurants for example that have more vegetarian options. On another note, I have been recommended to check out the Happy Cow app, and it looks useful if you are looking for specific restaurants and eateries (vegan, gluten free etc.). I've been to Vegan Garden Restaurant some time ago and they have a Hungarian Mushroom stew on their menu and it was very very nice :) Some places will also have a vegetarian version of the Jókai Bean soup which is also a Hungarian specialty :) So I believe you should be fine :)
Thanks for this update! We are visiting in November, so good to know. I have a question! There's a dish at 3:44 with a piece of something on top, in a fancy notched round shape. What the heck is that? I was served that in a traditional restaurant several years ago and I had no idea what was going on. It seemed to be fat? Can you explain?
Hey there! That's a Cigány Pecsenye 😊 it is a slice of pork and on top a grilled fatty bacon. We love to incorporate bacon and pork fat / lard in many ways 😎
Hey there! Unfortunately only children who are enrolled in a Hungarian school have discounts 😟 so the full price must be paid if they are not participating in the local school system.
I will be going to Budapest for a week in December. If I follow this guide it will cost me 1142 usd for the week. Airfare was $900 from the West Coast of Florida and is separate from the 1142. Apartment was $600 and 92 for tours. My food and transportation is included in the 1142. I don't think that's bad for all week.
Very nice video !, i am coming for Erasmus in Budapest . Do you think a €300 Euro budget (excluding accommodation) is enough to live and have some fun in Budapest ?
Hey there! I believe it's doable, student travel pass is around 9 euros, and if you cook for yourself or use meal menus, visit places like a kifőzde or étkezde it should be fine. Going out for beers and drinks in the city center can eat into the budget, but if you go a bit out of the center you should find nice places to frequent to hang out with friends and have a few drinks 😊 There are some "free" things that can be fun, like hiking in Normafa and the Buda mountains or hanging out on Margaret Island for example 😊
Hey there! Taxis marked as Freelancer, Exhanging money at the airport, taking money from Euronet ATM. I would say those are the most important things to avoid 😊
@@StuffedCabbageAdventures How about Center Change at the corner of Mester and Ferenc? I already changed money in my country but saw that one and thought might be useful for next trips.
@@dublininecstasy463 Hey there! I personally never exchanged there, but as its on a major road it should be fine plus the reviews in general don't complain a lot in the last year, the only reoccuring negative feedback is that some people wanted to exchange their unused Swiss Franks back after their trip but apparently the bills were too old to be exchanged (even if they gave them out few weeks ago). Other than that I don't see major problems with them, so you should be fine :)
Hey there! There are sooo many restaurants around the city it's hard to make a video to cover them, but there is a list of some of the ones we personally enjoy in the top 10 hungarian dishes video's description 😊
@@StuffedCabbageAdventures Thank you, I will check it out. We're going to Budapest at the end of the month and for me one of the most important things is to try as much different local food as possible. Eating at a bad place is just always so disappointing when your time is limited.
Have a trip planned for September, is it easy to train to Vienna for a day out? Also have you got any recommendations for things to do in Vienna ? Thanks !
Hey there! It is easy either with train or with flixbus, rougly same time :) For train you can check jegy.mav.hu website to buy digital tickets. We actually have a video about a our 2 day stay in Vienna, perhaps that can help with getting ideas, but in general I just love to explore the inner city around Stephansdome, the Palace, Parliament and Rathaus areas, get some coffee somewhere with nice sweets, and get some Leberkase-semmel when possible :)
Hey there! That would be a very difficult video to make as there are so many industries, salaries change often and it also very much depends if a company is located in Budapest or elsewhere in the country. 😊 KSH (The central statistics agency) regularly shares data and its also available in English, the latest regarding income can be found here: www.ksh.hu/gyorstajekoztatok#/en/document/ker2406
Szia! Esetleg be is lehetne mutatni ezeket a helyeket. A Hangdóm a Zene Házában pl. megérne egy külön videót.
Szia!
I'm going to play around Szazhalombatta and Sumeg, or perhaps Visegrad area instead of Budapest my next autumn trip. I'm still searching for videos that covers other area of Hungary. So many gems everywhere else but it is hidden from the world :(
Absolutely! We have a few videos of some of cities, towns and areas outside of Budapest and wish to make more so people who come to Budapest and enjoy their stay here may consider to come back and then move further away from the capital. We have a few more planned for this year, so while it may take time to grow our content library with Hungary's gems, we are slowly working on it 😊
As an Israeli i want to say I'm sorry for my fellow israiles behavior in Hungary. Budapest is my favorite location in Europe and i always enjoy your hospitality. There is not a county or a people in Europe like you Hungarians!
Hello Akos, I have two questions: one is about the water tower on Margaret Island, is it open for visits? The latest information about tickets on the website is from 2022. And the second question - is there a cathedral in Budapest?
Hey there! According to the Hungarian website they list the tower to be open until September 29th this year (each year they are open from spring till autumn). Regarding Cathedrals, are you looking for buildings that officially meet this title? I only see one in Budapest which is the Orthodox Cathedral of Our Lady. There is a nice Cathedral in the nearby city of Vác up north, the Assumption Cathedral of Vác. Or are you looking for something else?
@@StuffedCabbageAdventures Hi! Thanks for the information about the tower. Yes, I’m specifically looking for cathedrals in the official sense, meaning the main church or the seat of a bishop.
Oh, that clarifies :) In Budapest the most important is the St Stephens Basilica, although it is only a "co-cathedral". The seat of the Catholic Church in Hungary is in Esztergom, a day trip from Budapest, however the Esztergom Basilica is currently under renovation, but its insides can be visited. 😊 Other cities have Roman Catholic Cathedrals, but not Budapest.
Hey there! I tried Cibere étkezde once for research and while the selection may not have been huge, the food was nice, priced well and the atmosphere was very unique 😊 Other that that in the center I heard that Akácfa Étkezde is also good, although I have not been there personally. I also wanted to check out Balzac Ételbár but had no chance yet 😊 Usually a Kifőzde/Étkezde is something people know closeby to where they live and are more common in the outskirts.
It’s like they think people make more money If you make are twice as much , it could easily cost more than twice .much in expenses . You live in one of the most beautiful cites in the world and one of the safest and so much opportunity for anyone on the ball.
Thank you for the information. Would you say it's a little less expensive outside Budapest, or more so? I am coming for a visit in October and will spend 2 weeks in Hungary (with about 5 of those days in Budapest). P.S. I enjoy your video, but you torture me with pictures of delicious looking food.
Hey there! Generally outside of Budapest it gets cheaper. There are a few places that are popular domestic travel destinations (like Siófok or Balatonfüred at Balaton, or Wine Countries) where prices will be similar, but generally in other cities it's cheaper and small towns and villages it should be more cheaper. I hope you can visit some nice places when you are here for 2 weeks 😊
Restaurants amidst of tourist attractions are more or less as expensive as ones in all European capital cities. Beer 7 euros. Pizza/Pasta 15e. Schnitzel 20e.
Thank you so much for your valuable information on your these videos - wanted to check here that if we take 24 hours ticket - will it be valid for all the transport like Tramp , subways, bus? also when the calendar date change then can this ticket be valid if we not completed 24 hours or how it works please help.
Hey there! We actually talk about this in more detail in our public transport explained video, but in short : the tickets and passes are valid for the buses, trams and subways (only the special airport service Bus 100E requires it's own special ticket). The 24 hour pass is valid for 24 hours from the time you set up at the purchase. So if you buy the pass at 10 am on Monday it's valid till 10am on Tuesday. Hope this helps 😊
The large christmas markets will open around end of November and the rest in early december, so you'll surely be able to visit the main markets when you arrive in first week of December. They should already have the tree up as those are like centerpieces on the main markets (in front of St Stephens Basilica and the Vörösmarty Square)
Hey there! We cover that topic in our Budget tips video in detail, but the short answer is that No I do not recommend the Budapest Card. Especially the 24h is not worth it, and when it comes to the 72h, while you could technically save money, it would be a bit of a rush and you will be mostly visiting Museums. I would only recommend it for those who can keep up a faster pace and want to visit a lot of Museums. But for the average traveler, I would not recommend it in it's current form. 😊
Hey there! There is no direct transpot from the Keleti Railway station. You first need to get to Astoria or Deák Ferenc tér where the 100E Bus has stops and get on the 100E Special Service Bus to get to the airport (Don't forget, the 100E Bus requires a special ticket, regular tickets and passes are not accepted, but you can use tap and pay with bankcard on that bus luckily). During the night there are night service Buses, so you can get from Keleti to Astoria, however as these are less frequent I would advise to plan the trip via the Budapest Go app (by also setting the departure or desired arrival time).
Love your channel, have been to Budapest one time and going back in september, need advice , we are 2 adult couples 45 ish We are staying close to astoria metro station : Where to eat a local breakfast close to where we live😊 Where to go to a good bar close , we like autentic 😊 Is the place we are staying close to walking streets 😊 Thanks in advance, cant wait to go. We are going to rooftop 360 and castle, baslilica, Is there any local guides that can show us the town and where to Get in contact.😊
Hey there! In all honesty, traditional Hungarian breakfast isn't something that is being sold as "local breakfast" at breakfast places but there are some places that offer something of a hybrid of a western european brunch and hungarian breakfast, I saw such things in Centrál Grand Café and Bar or in Gerlóczy Café, both are close to Astoria. There is also Belvárosi Disznótoros closeby to get some grilled Hungarian sausages with bread, but those only open at 11 am. You can also search for a Hentes (Butchers) nearby, they usually have grilled sausage with bread :) Regarding bars, there are many bars in the area close to Astoria (around Kazinczy street, Dob street, Gozsdu etc.) These are not going to be traditional, but fun. Traditional bars are more like run down pubs and they are more present in the outskirts, but you'll have a ton of fun in the bars close to astoria. There aren't many walking streets in Budapest, but you can easily walk in the city center, the most prominent waking street is Váci Shopping street, it leads to Vörösmarty square and from there you can walk via Basilica, Szabadság park to Parliament without any cars rushing by basically. Regarding Local guides, I personally do not have contacts, but on Facebook there are groups called "Budapest Holiday, Hotel and Travel Tips for Tourists" and "Things to do in Budapest" where tourgides are actively helping people and some visitors also share experiences with them or recommend them. I hope this helps and you'll have a great time here 😊
25 euros, to 40 euros, wow, that craaaaazy expensive. I'm from Croatia. I would assume its best to do your own grocery. Eu countries seem to be super expensive if you do restorants.
budapest city centre is expensive like any other capital city anywhere. If you go more outside districts cheaper as well as food and restaurants. I take day trips out of budapest all the time and in Gyor 3 people ate at a nice restaurant for the same price as one person in budapest. Currently i am retired and live in district 1.
Hey there! Outside of Budapest the prices get lower, there are some very popular areas that Hungarians also like to visit (like Siófok at Balaton, or Wine countrys etc) where prices will be in line with Budapet. But generally, prices in other big cities will be a bit lower and in small towns and villages they will be lower. October is a nice time to travel the countryside, the weather is more balanced, not too hot and not too cold, so I hope you'll have an excellent 2 weeks here 😊
Budapest is far from cheap, so don't go there if that is what you are looking for. Prices of everything seems about the same and maybe more than here in the UK (in London, so comparable as a city). 100 euro a day as a tourist is quite expensive in my humble opinion (excluding meals and drinks of course ). However it looks like a city worth visiting if you are , like me, lucky enough to be able to afford it.
Hey there! Yes, Uber is back, it operates same way as other Taxi companies (as the industry is regulated in the city). So it's not a ride share, its same as other Taxis. It's very new and not sure where they poached the staff from so cannot comment on their quality. I personally use Bolt most of the time which works the same way as Uber here, but so far I have not heard of major complaints about Uber so should be also fine (just never get into a cab that is marked as Freelancer 😊)
Hey there! It may take quite some time to create a video in this topic, as I am far from the University life, but will see what we can do about it in the future 😊
that 50euro shopping for a week would be for 2 adults I guess.... I am italian living in Hungary and we are a family of 5. whenever I can, I do the big shopping in Italy because most of the things are cheaper there. Just to give you matter of comparison...

What do u mean, its way cheaper than Germany.
How can avail the 72 hr pass?
Hello how much does the pass cost?
How is the72 hour pass free
Maybe you got scammed? xD
Now that I've been learning Hungarian for a while, I get the giggles when I hear you say "fast" food ;-)
Seriously though, what an abysmal change in cost of living since I started going to Budapest 15 years ago...
Excellent video! Thank you for sharing.
I went to Ruszwurm and it was amazing! Thank you for your suggestion!
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Thank you Ákos. I always enjoy and learn something from your videos.

Already spent weeks planning all he said...
Thank you so much for this video. It was really helpful.

What a beautiful kitty! 🥰😍❤️
i've watched 2 of your videos on Budapest, and i really enjoy you're commentary style and the tips and tricks you give. Very Nice channel keep it up!
Thank you so much for the kind comment 😊
Thank you man your videos made my Budapest trip so memorable! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much! Really happy to hear it was a memorable trip for you! 😊
Very professional and informative video! Thank you!
Thank you for the updates. We will visit Budapest next month.
I hope you'll enjoy your stay here when you arrive 😊
Thank you for this video!! Super helpful and complete, as always.
Maybe that's some interesting bits of info for you 😊
@@StuffedCabbageAdventures Wow! Thank you! That's really interesting. We suspected it was spelled something like that.
Thanks! Glad to hear you enjoy your European adventures so far 😀 I hope the remaining days will be also wonderful 😊
Was that a Great Value Vacations trip? I found the same cities in a package deal. Going in March.
Hello! No, it was not a vacation package. I just planned it all out myself. Prague & Budapest are both really cool cities. My family & I were a bit overwhelmed with Vienna, great museums though. You’ll have a great time in all three cities.
@@lindseym9871Thanks for the info. We’re really excited. Glad you all had a good time. 😊

I hope to buy some of you super cool merch soon!
I will be visiting Budapest at the end of January for 4 days first time and really looking forward to seeing the beautiful city and the attractions us the hotel Mediterranean a good hotel

Amazing video. I’ll be there August 21st for 2 weeks for a kickboxing tournament. Thank you for all the info. 👌🏻
Thank you so much! I hope you'll do well in the tournament if you participate, or will enjoy it if you just visit, but generally I just hope you'll have a great time in Budapest 😊
Thanks for another informative video!
Totally thoughtful content. A pleasure to watch your videos

Thanks for mentioning gluten free food. I’m quite wheat gluten intolerant and have gained about 42 pounds since getting on a diet that lets me get nutrition from my food.
Very informative and great tips! See you soon :)
Thank you for the good information😊
Thankyou for this lovely vlog
Great video🎉. Just missed the name you used for the local cafeterias Thanks!
Hey there! We call them Kifőzde, or Étkezde :)
Excellent video. Thank you.
Was in Budapest last month, and your videos helped me a lot! Would love to visit again soon! ❤️
Thank you so much! It's always good to hear that our videos can help and in the end you had a great time here! 😊
Thanks for all the useful info, Can you please recommend some convenience stores and eating houses?
I love your message in the conclusion.
Last time I was in Budapest , the ticket for 100E was still 900HUF. That being said, 2200 HUF is still a very reasonable price. And if you are going to buy single tickets for the other public transport options, do not forget to validate them.
Érdekes videó. Imádom Budapestet!
He wants the very best for everyone -
Thank you. This information is so helpful.
Happy that you found it helpful! 😊
Visiting Budapest min twice a year for 4 years now and comparing to 2020 prices have gone up very noticeably

@@StuffedCabbageAdventures Wow that's not much given the prices you've shown in your video. Can't be easy for locals.
Enjoy your videos
Love your channel.
Just a question, how wheelchair friendly is Budapest?
Thank you for your response, it makes a great difference when you guys get back so quick. Your channel makes it easy for visitors to enjoy Budapest.
I love your video😍
Thank you! 😊
I have never visited Budapest, but it looks interesting. I am vegetarian and do not eat eggs. Are there restaurants that serve vegetarian food?
Thanks again for a very informative and updated guide.
Our son is 9 years old, does he require a normal ticket for the bus/tram/train ?
Hey there! Unfortunately only children who are enrolled in a Hungarian school have discounts 😟 so the full price must be paid if they are not participating in the local school system.
i like the way you pronounce budapest
Well... I was born and raised here 😊
I will be going to Budapest for a week in December.
We had fully 1 week vacation, used around 500eu pr. person for ALL. (not with hotel and fly)
Crazy prices when considering Hungarian salaries actually.
I live in the USA and my retirement is $2100.00 so below the $3300.00 that U talking about. Love to go back and live there for a few months
helpful!
Heading to Budapest in July 2025 , looking forward to it and your videos are really helpful. Do you have any tips of what to avoid?
Can you recomment any restaurants in Budapest or is there already a video about it?
Hi Stuffed Cabbage! sorry but I ddnt get it, what do you call or term for the local eatery that doesn't expensive ? going to Budapest this weekend 🤗
Hey there! They are called Kifőzde or Étkezde, you can try searching for these terms on Google maps 😊
We actually have a video about a our 2 day stay in Vienna, perhaps that can help with getting ideas, but in general I just love to explore the inner city around Stephansdome, the Palace, Parliament and Rathaus areas, get some coffee somewhere with nice sweets, and get some Leberkase-semmel when possible :)
can you create a video on jobs salaries based on different industries?
Although it costs more for non EU citizens to visit the Paliament, it was so worth it!!
Glad to hear you enjoyed it so much! 😊
Anyway I love Budapest ❤
@@StuffedCabbageAdventures Thank you so much!
Kedves Ákas, Can you recommend a good kifőzde?
2:13 Where are the links to the minibus?
It's in the description if you scroll down 😊 but here you go to make it quicker 😊 : www.minibud.hu/
I wish I could go live there ,my cousin is a priest ,and I think some family is there to .love all the food and desert so good .love this video 👍
Planning to come on first week of December, is the Christmas market open already this year? Is the Christmas tree already in town center?
The large christmas markets will open around end of November and the rest in early december, so you'll surely be able to visit the main markets when you arrive in first week of December. They should already have the tree up as those are like centerpieces on the main markets (in front of St Stephens Basilica and the Vörösmarty Square)
Do you recommend to buy the Budapest card? Such as 24h or 72h?
@@StuffedCabbageAdventures Thanks a lot
Hello ! Is there any available transportation from 3am from Keleti station to airport ? Thank you &
Love your channel, have been to Budapest one time and going back in september, need advice , we are 2 adult couples 45 ish
We are staying close to astoria metro station :
Where to eat a local breakfast close to where we live😊
Where to go to a good bar close , we like autentic 😊
Is the place we are staying close to walking streets 😊
Thanks in advance, cant wait to go.
We are going to rooftop 360 and castle, baslilica,
Is there any local guides that can show us the town and where to Get in contact.😊
You can also search for a Hentes (Butchers) nearby, they usually have grilled sausage with bread :)
Regarding bars, there are many bars in the area close to Astoria (around Kazinczy street, Dob street, Gozsdu etc.) These are not going to be traditional, but fun.
I hope this helps and you'll have a great time here 😊
@@StuffedCabbageAdventures thank you for your well founded answer , thank you for the tips , yes we are really looking forward to the trip 🙂🙂
Hi Producer, Are you working/worked in TCS?
October is a nice time to travel the countryside, the weather is more balanced, not too hot and not too cold, so I hope you'll have an excellent 2 weeks here 😊
Love you 😍 from Pakistan 🇵🇰
Budapest is far from cheap, so don't go there if that is what you are looking for. Prices of everything seems about the same and maybe more than here in the UK (in London, so comparable as a city). 100 euro a day as a tourist is quite expensive in my humble opinion (excluding meals and drinks of course ). However it looks like a city worth visiting if you are , like me, lucky enough to be able to afford it.
Does Uber work in Budapest? Is it reliable?
@@StuffedCabbageAdventures Thanks! I'm visiting next week, will download the bolt app!
Can you do video for international students going to study in budapest?
Hey there! It may take quite some time to create a video in this topic, as I am far from the University life, but will see what we can do about it in the future 😊
👍
that 50euro shopping for a week would be for 2 adults I guess.... I am italian living in Hungary and we are a family of 5. whenever I can, I do the big shopping in Italy because most of the things are cheaper there. Just to give you matter of comparison...
