    Hi, I’m just back in UK after going to Budapest for a few days. I just wanted to say köszönet for your videos and your kind answer to a question I posted.
    I thought I would put in a couple of other recommendations for interesting things
    1. Magyar Zene Haza - interesting music museum in a stunning modern building, and…
    2. my absolute favourite “off the beaten track” place. Ecseri flea market.

      There are companies who specialise in stag parties, perhaps they can help with getting one organized :) Just a note as a local: having fun is good, but don't turn into raging party animals on the street and in the bars, unfortunately many bars banned stag party groups due to their behaviour. Hi ! Where are the places for best sun rise and sunset view at Budapest?

    • @StuffedCabbageAdventures
      @StuffedCabbageAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Generally the higher grounds are good, like Castle district with Fisherman's bastion or in front of the Palace, or Gellért hill, Philosophers garden etc. I mostly like the sunrise because you look towards Pest and that's where the sun is rising from. But the sunset is also nice from these places even if you aren't looking into the sunsets direction but again to Pest, however the clouds and the sky turn to beautiful colors and the city starts to light up, it's gorgeous 😊 alternatively on the Danube promenade on Pest side when you look towards the castle district during sunset, that can also be a picturesque view 😊

      There are multiple large train stations (Nyugati, Keleti, Déli) but luckily all of them have good connection to Subway and other public transport systems. Using Google Maps helps a lot as its reliable, or alternatively there is the Budapest Go app where you can also buy digital tickets for the public transport beside planning the directions :)

    • @StuffedCabbageAdventures
      @StuffedCabbageAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most of the places take credit card, perhaps really small stalls, some food trucks or sellers at markets may not have POS devices working and you'll require some cash. For Kids it really depends on their interest and their age. The House of Music is a cool interactive museum that kids can enjoy, its located in the Városliget city park that has a small lake where you can do boat riding, there are some cool playgrounds there too and the City Zoo is also here. Margaret Island also has some nice Playgrounds, and you can rent little buggies to cycle around the island. Palatinus beach on the Island has some nice slides, wave pool etc, kids enjoy this place too. A bit off the usual path, but the Csodák Palotája (Palace of Wonders) is an interactive place targeted at children to learn about science in a fun way. Regarding food for kids, I myself had a very picky taste as a child, so I can't really recommend anything as all kids have different food they enjoy or don't :)

      @@jaynedudley2357 hey there, Goulash has a meat base and it's dependent on usage of meat. Perhaps try out Vegan Garden restaurant, they have a Vegan Jókai Bean soup which is nice, it is also a very good dish that has Paprika spice at its core like Goulash. 😊 I had it once and it was good 😊

    Do I need to worry about taking out cash or will we get by with card?

    • @StuffedCabbageAdventures
      @StuffedCabbageAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! Cards are widely accepted, it's kind of a requirement these days. Only a handful of places like the Labyrinth in Buda Castle, public toilets or a few very small convenience stores may not accept cards. So no need to carry a lot of cash, but could be good to have some in case it's needed.

    How hell naw. The trdenlik or chimney cake. That thing is bigger than my cars exhaust. And in Prague they ripped me off. Damn. I don't trust the trdenlik stands now. Not even in Budapest

      Sorry to hear about your bad experience in Prague. I did not hear of similar happening in Budapest Chimney Cake stands. There are established shops which are respected and don't rip people off (yeah some of them are expensive, but there are some cheaper places that offer good quality products still). I think in Prague the chimney cake is a bit overrepresented, while in Budapest it's under represented. It's still delicious :D

      @@StuffedCabbageAdventures I didn't have personally. My gf did. I forgot to tell her. But I paid obviously. This is a man's world and we pay the price. And the funny thing that the chimney cake is Hungarian. It's not even Czech. They're there to rip off tourists

    Good video but - speciality coffee? I don't go to different European cities to seek out speciality coffees; when I think of Budapest I don't think "I'm not going unless they have speciality coffees". Also, I go to Budapest to eat Goulash - it's Hungarian; why would I go to Budapest to eat Chinese? If I want to eat Chinese I'll do that here in the north of England. Overall I thought this was a wasted opportunity to highlight the hidden treasures of Budapest.

    Budapest is lovely with loads to see and do but the food is terrible if you don’t eat meat. There is no recycling. Except a few parks with plastic bins. It’s 2023 recycle save our planet

    • @StuffedCabbageAdventures
      @StuffedCabbageAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you like the city in general. I dont agree that the food is terrible, but yes Hungary is not famous for vegeterian food. But there are a ton of eateries which offer vegeterian/vegan food options. When it comes to recycling in public, yes Budapest is not perfect (like may other cities unfortunatly), but households since many years have recycling bins for plastic and paper. So we are getting there little by little.

      As a vegetarian I must say unfortunately it's true the Hungarian cuisine is not so strong with the non meat food. The main vegetarian foods are mainly pasta, like palacsinta, tojásos nokedli, krumplis tészta..
      However, most of the Indian restaurants can choose vegetarian food and there are many vegetarian burgers and pizzas as well around the city. We can create our own different types of salads from couscous, bulgur, rice with cheese, vegetables and green leaves.. sometimes it's a challenge to find a great place to eat without meat but during the time we can enjoy the discovering.🙏🌞
