    My husband and I recently vacationed in the city and it was my responsibility to "plan our visit." I was overwhelmed trying to plan for the three day visit (I am not the planner of the family). My AAA agent did not provide much help as he only recommended I visit the Viator website. I needed a specific day by day of what to do and see. I stumbled upon the Stuffed Cabbage TH-cam channel. This video gave me exactly what I needed a specific itinerary for each day. I wrote everything down and used it as my daily agenda. We also dined at several of the places mentioned in this video for example Viviana. I did watch how to use public transportation in Budapest which aided in our trip. Stuffed Cabbage, you gave me the clear instructions on how to manage the city and the confidence to do so. I really appreciate your help and incite on the city of Budapest and its peoples. I have been telling all of my friends to visit Budapest for it is beautiful, historic, easy to get around due to the fact people speak English and more importantly (I found) the people to be super friendly and helpful. My husband and I will be back to visit. Koszonom, Stuffed Cabbage.

    Thank you, Akos. We're arriving at the end of September. Based on all your previous videos, I've already made a plan for our 3-day visit: Day 1 - Margaret Island and a walk along the Danube near the Parliament, and a visit to the market; Day 2 - Széchenyi Thermal Bath and Park, followed by dinner in the city center; and Day 3 - a tour of the Buda castles and another dinner. I love parks the most, and we want to experience the city, not just rush from one attraction to another. The only thing I missed in this video was a mention that it's best to use public transportation - something I learned from your videos - and to note that the currency is the forint. Everything else is excellent, just like all the videos I've watched. Thanks to you and your wife! Mima

    I am also very pro the reconstruction, it may come as ''unoriginal'' but even the buildings that are standing for more than 200 years have been reconstructed and even changed many times. Being able to see how things were years ago and admire the architecture again does not take away anything from the city. I would have loved that to happen in my city. Good job and very helpful video btw

      Hey there! Budapest has a great and versitile transport system, we have a dedicated video about it actually 😊 Within the city there are multiple ways to get around depending on where you are and what time it is, the Budapest Go app helps with planning the journeys in any moment from anywhere. We do call out if it's a specific line like the old historic subway, but the rest can be very flexible, so we didn't want to limit people's choices. We definately recommend having the Budapest Go app installed and used 😊

    Akos, Greetings from Ireland, Excellent video. I cannot wait for our trip to this wonderful city in October. Two questions: Visiting a ruin bar: how do you order a drink - do you ask for a small glass of beer or a pint of beer or is there a drink menu to view. In Ireland, we order a pint or a small half-pint glass and tell the bar person what drink we want (can I have a pint of Guinness please?) Coffee shops- I don’t drink coffee, but was wondering do coffee shops sell tea or would you get a laugh if you ask for cup of tea. Thank John Ireland

    • @StuffedCabbageAdventures
      @StuffedCabbageAdventures  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey there! There will always be a drink menu as there are usually different kinds of beers available. If you ask for a small or large beer and do not specify the brand you'll likely get the lager on the menu, or if there is multiple lagers it will likely be the medium or more expensive one when it comes to price. Or if the Bartenders are nice they will ask which brand you wish to have :) But there will always be either a menu or a board behind the bartenders that show the beers and the prices. So just tell them if you wish to have a Small (a glass, about 0,2-0,3 l) or a Large (we call it "Korsó", its 0,5 l) Beer, and call out the name of the brand you want 😀 Most of the time it will be Soproni or Dreher from the Hungarian brands and Pilsner or Staropramen from the international ones, but in ruin bars there may be a lot of other craft beers as well. Regarding tea, nobody will bat an eye, drinking tea is part of the culture, however not in the same way as in the UK for example. In most places it will be simple filter pouch tea, but specialty coffee places and some cafes will have proper tea selections. If you are into tea, I can recommend a place for you: Sirius Teahaz, they specialise in Tea and have a large selection, plus there is a wacky interior along with it 😊 I hope you'll have a good time here in Budapest!

    • @waterfordwritingservices

      Akos, Thanks for that informative reply. I cannot wait to taste the local beer. An Irishman never orders a small glass of beer ha ha. I will check-out Sirius Teahaz. We Irish, would win Olympic medals for tea drinking. Thanks again John from Ireland. @@StuffedCabbageAdventures

      Hey there! My personal opinion is that the best seasons for a visit are Spring and Autumn, but November and December are still fine for a visit. If you dress appropriately and have layers it should be fine. In December the added bonus is the Christmas decoration and the Xmas Markets. We don't get much snow, but rainy days are more common during these months however if you don't let your enthusiasm down just because of some wind, a bit of colder air and occasional rain, then these months are also good for a visit 😊

      Hey there! A thermal bath can still be done as those have pools inside as well (Gellért and Rudas are mostly indoors). There are some interesting Museums like the Hospital in the Rock or the Cave Walking tour in the Castle district, but the House of Music is a nice and unique ineractive museum about the history of World Music and Hungarian music, or the House of Terror is also a unique and interesting museum if you enjoy learning about History, even if it's not the most happy part of the past. Retro Museum is also interesting if you want to learn about life on the Eastern side of the Iron Curtain and a really fun place to spend hours if you enjoy old arcades is the Flipper Museum where for an entry ticket you can play oldschool flipper and other arcade machines as much as you like. People also really enjoy the Museum of Fine Arts. I personally don't mind the rain, even if it's not my favorite weather, I just try to dress up waterproof as much as possible, take it a bit slower and try to implement a bit more places with a roof above my head :)

    The prices seem to be a bit confusing and some are really, really expensive...maybe take a look at those. You don't want to give the wrong impression of our wonderful city! I think what you may be doing is first showing the cost of the current place and then the cumulative costs for the two of you. If so, I'm sure it's really clear that you are doing that. As I've often said, I love your videos and this is no exception. I will be sharing on Facebook

      Hey there Don, thanks for your continued support of the channel! 😊 I can understand why prices may be confusing. Unfortunately prices vary by a lot depending on the area of the city and the attractions themselves. If we compare prices of Pozsonyi Restaurant with Pörcz és Prézli there is a significant difference for example and of course Szimpla Kert is very expensive compared to some other pubs... We tried to visit places with a balance to show both cheaper alternatives and some more expensive ones as well, to get the best but a balanced experience out of a 3 day itinerary 😊 We tried this new way of showing the spend so far and the price of the place we visit then add those together, but perhaps next time we'll try a different and more clear mode to showcase 😊

    • @StuffedCabbageAdventures
      @StuffedCabbageAdventures  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey there! October 23rd is a national holiday, we remember the events of the Revolution of 1956. There should be many different commemorations happening around the city but the most prominent one usually is at the Kossuth square in front of the Parliament building. If you are interested in the events of 1956 then I can recommend for you to check out the House of Terror, although on 23rd of October the Museum is free to enter so it will be crowded so perhaps try another day 😊 When it comes to safety we talk about this a bit in our 15 things you must know about Budapest video, but in general Budapest is safe, especially in the popular center areas. But this doesn't mean you should completely let your guards down, so in crowded areas always be mindful of your surroundings and valuables. During the night it's also safe in the center areas where nightlife happens, but again, make sure to be aware of your surroundings. Budapest is safe, but not a crime free utopia 😊

My recommendation is not to eat food on the second floor and choose a souvenir carefully as they are either cheap low quality items or overpriced. I think the Pozsonyi Kisvendéglő we show in the video is a nice local vibe restaurant and the prices are decent there. 😊 But places like Kiskakukk, Regős vendéglő or Tüköry Étterem can also be nice choices. These places may be a bit on the pricier side but I can recommend them. Generally, if a place advertises that you can get Gulyás in a breadbun, I think those are likely just tourist traps. Hey there! It's a combination of many shooting days some have been shot recently and some perhaps a year ago. Luckily the views have not changed over time 😊

      @@StuffedCabbageAdventures Thank you for answering, we went to Budapest between 15 -19 but the Parliament bulding didn't have that golden light, it was a rather cold and white light. They were making preparations for the national holiday I guess. Had fun, seen the most iconic locations on the exterior and interior and took some boat rides along the Danube, crossed the main bridges, saw the Market and Gellert. The transportation was great, mainly used the subway. We booked pretty close to Deak Ferenc. We had a blast man, following some videos of yours.Thanks and keep on posting!
