Thank you for this little food-tour! I am Hungarian but never tried Christmas Market food before. I will try after seeing your video. I love the stuffed cabbage, so I will go for that one 😋
The funny thing is that, for us, hungarians, these prices are ridiculously high. Cut them in half, and we'd still think twice before buying anything there.

Suiting is wonderful including Basillica, ringing of bells and ligthing show. We expecting many more Videos. May GOD Almighty bless you all. Thank you very much.
The opposite. A nightmare. You walk on the same 3 streets that are kept nice to milk the tourists.. If you move a little over you see crumbling walls, piss and homeless and trash everywhere. A crowded sh.t with the worst infrastructure possible. Forgot to mention that around the biggest house of thives (the parliment) everything is nice because those mfs don't like to see the reality around themselves. Disgusting city and country.
Goulash is definitely a soup not a stew. I was about 35 years old when I went to work in Germany and saw Goulash on the menu in the canteen. You can imagine the shock I had when it turned out to be some sticky "thing" instead of a proper soup...
I don’t even know why they call it goulash when it’s gulyásleves. Gulya is the herd of cows. Gulyás is the person herding the cows. Leves (second part of the word) literally means soup. As a Hungarian I always feel somewhat violated when they butcher this dish in other places. Especially when someone comes up to me and they say, oh I’ve had Hungarian goulash, so good… no, you have not had had it. You had some abomination but you did not have gulyásleves you poor soul.
Having lived in several countries between England and Switzerland, food doesn’t get better than in Hungary- so missed my country’s food, especially Spinach fôzelék, vegetable stews, rakott, layered baked food etc.

The market next to Basilica is overpriced, though. You need to check out the market in Óbuda next time. This is where the true magic happens! Thank me later 😊
there is one problem with the Budapest Christmas market, it has become so expensive that most Hungarians prefer to walk there, and you can buy food for half the price for five minutes' walk, I recommend it to you too, if you eat anything, I recommend only the classic Hungarian version
The chimney cake may worth it if it were baked in front of you above ember. By the way I am Hungarian and I don't think we could not afford having a meal there, we just know it is a total ripoff. Like for example the lángos (2:58) , I am walking past like 2 places on my way to work where it costs 1400 HUF (with sour cream and chees + optional garlic), same size, and they also put more cheese on it than what I can see on the video, probably more more sour cream too. So it is not like I could not afford but why would I buy that for 3100?
Over the years Budapest Christmas market has become sooo expensive, that Hungarians are no longer shopping there. And Betterhelp won’t help with that!!!😊

2:55 100 forint Lángos = Flat bread
Oh I know... Those are market prices!
@DaveMani 30X 🤷🙃😘
The market next to Basilica is overpriced, though. You need to check out the market in Óbuda next time. This is where the true magic happens! Thank me later 😊
All the Christmas markets are overpriced I have to say, Budapest had the most expensive ones out of the 9 European countries we've done.
@DaveMani yes, I remember that last year the food was much cheaper than now
there is one problem with the Budapest Christmas market, it has become so expensive that most Hungarians prefer to walk there, and you can buy food for half the price for five minutes' walk, I recommend it to you too, if you eat anything, I recommend only the classic Hungarian version
You're right. We saw that for the chimney cakes which was 30% of the price we paid in the market...
Look, it’s a tourist area, please do not surprise..
Me waiting for Dave to ask for Kottu 🤦🏻♂️
Hahaha I wish they had a Kottu booth! :P
4:50 And you're meant to munch them for half an hour. Not swallow it in whole.
Good point loll. We only ate one that night our of the 3 tho.

Over the years Budapest Christmas market has become sooo expensive, that Hungarians are no longer shopping there. And Betterhelp won’t help with that!!!😊
Loll fair enough. It was pretty expensive compared to the general cost of living.
I was just there and the Bratislava Christmas market. Gotta admit, I preferred the prices and vibe in Bratislava.
I totally can see that, especially price wise.
