Done quite a few as a DIY er. If it's just the pads needed it's saves a fortune to do them yourself.

Hi Tim you're absolutely right. If I can do anything without going to a garage, you get a great sense of satisfaction.
Unfortunately a couple of weeks after that video, my shed caught fire, where I lost a scooter and two classic mopeds. The fence then caught fire and set light to the car. I am now up and running again, but lost everything at the time. I have a video filmed just after, called Disaster Everything Lost. I don't like to watch it anymore.
      Take care,Jeff

Welldone Jeff, great job ,the wife's car is a hybrid and brakes in the same way ,I came round a bend and there was a car parked on the verge not on the road and the car detected it and put the brakes on hard bloody thing I nearly crapped myself 😅😅

Hi Martin and thank you. Yes it's a great system, but really you have to stay one step ahead of the car.
I read a comment from a lady on Facebook who was doing something other than watching the road and it slammed her brakes on, she said that she would definitely have hit the car in front if it hadn't stopped it's self.
      Take care, Jeff

Great job Jeff to push the piston in ive always used a large old G clamp 👍👍👍👍

Thanks Alan, the piston went in OK, but the one's that screw in are a pain. I do have a set of tools, but it's just as much a pain to set them up.
      Take care, Jeff

The MG has a an 80k or 7vyear warranty the discs and pads are unlikely to be covered. However by doing them yourself you have probably voided the warranty for the whole car.

Hi Tim, yes I did weigh that up, but for what it was worth the warranty was pretty useless.
Unfortunately a couple of weeks later my shed burnt down, which set the fence on fire and the MG was on the other side of the fence.
As I was out at the time the car went up as well.
I did buy another MG, a ZS EV which I am very happy with.

    Hi Jeff,
    Another job well done.
Where do you get your energy ?
I think you mentioned my name in the last video, thank you for that.
    Take care

Thanks Phil, not so much energy these days so have to pace myself.
I tend to go to bed early and get up early if I'm off.
By 4pm I've had enough then relax.
      Take care, Jeff

What discs did you use? Did you go to MG? Also how did you get the electric parking brake to release?

    • @DiecastPowderCoating
      @DiecastPowderCoating  หลายเดือนก่อน

Hi Reece, unfortunately I lost the car last June when my shed caught fire.
I have had a look back through eBay and I got them on there.
They are still for sale and were £93. The eBay seller is called, carpartsinmotion.
As I did just the front brakes I didn't have problems with the electronic handbrake.
I have the same problem with my father in law's Jaguar. In that I just undo the battery while they are off. I have now got a MG ZS, so not really sure how I would do that. If I put it into neutral the brake would come on straight away and wouldn't really like to just undo the battery on a EV.
      Take care, Jeff
