  • Hello and thank you for watching our latest restoration. I'm having a brief break from restoring mopeds for a bit. I fancied doing something a bit different this time, so I am going to try and restore a 1970's Hayter Harrier MK1 Lawnmower. Come and see how we get on with this one.
Take care, Jeff & Jenny xx

Hi Martin and thank you. It took me three days on and off to get the friction disc off. Just worried about where the clutch cable joins, that's if I can find a suitable cable.
      Take care, Jeff

Hi Adam and thank you. It's nice for a change to do something different. I will look into some suitable clutch cables, but still not sure yet how it connects with the levers on the engine side.
At least that will be towards the end.
The DVLA are coming to inspect the Velosolex on Thursday, so hopefully that will be the final hurdle.
      Take care, Jeff

Hi Jeff hope you and your Mum are well. Some thing different may be it's got an engine, never worked on a petrol lawn mower must be similar mechanics to your Velosolex, but looks like a good little project to work on hope it's going to be an easy one for you.
Like you said some thing different to work on as always a great video to watch, catch you soon Take care

Hi Shaun, my mum is out of hospital now, but they said she needs two carers four times a day. That was about £4000 per month. They only stayed 5 minutes and that was it.
My wife and her two cousins are looking after her now, cleaning and getting her meals etc, so she is being better looked after.
I am looking forward to doing the lawnmower, I still need to find out where the cable attaches to the clutch.
The DVLA are doing an inspection on the Velosolex Thursday, so hopefully I can finally get a log book.
I hope you are well and thank you for watching.
      Take care, Jeff

Hi Phil and thank you. I did speak with Martin, he said he has never done one of these, but He sent me a link to the lawnmower club.
I may also contact Hayter as they have restored an early Harrier like my one.
I've got the DVLA inspection on Thursday for the Velosolex, hopefully that will be the final hurdle for the registration.
Take care, Jeff and Jenny xx

Hi Joe and thank you for watching. I did email Martin a couple of weeks ago. He said he has never done one of these, but sent me the link to the Lawnmower club. At the moment I am just worried about how the clutch cable joins the clutch mechanism.
I might ask Hayter as well as they restored one.
      Take care, Jeff
