Jeff And Jenny's Classic Restorations
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 5 ม.ค. 2020
Hi my name is Jeff and I have just changed my channel name from Diecast Powder Coating to Jeff And Jenny's Classic Restorations. Jenny is our cream Chow Chow and since having her since March she wants to be in all my video's as she is very nosy, she is a very loving dog and loves to be with all the time, that's why she is now included in the new title.
I initially started restoring classic diecast model vehicles, but I felt that that had now run it's course.
I was looking for another idea for the channel. As I have restored a number of classic mopeds over the years I thought I would do that again for the channel. I will also be doing the odd review on my Lexmoto Pegasus 300cc Chinese scooter and as of now, 11 months old I have been very pleased with it.
I will also restore anything classic that comes along and also maybe some car or scooter maintenance video's.
I may also show some separated video's of Jenny Chow as she grows up.
I hope that you will like the new content.

Sorry to learn of your misfortune. Best of luck getting everything back in order.
Hi thanks very much, luckily it's all up and running again thanks to friends on TH-cam and my colleagues. I'm having a bit of a break at the moment as I lost my mum back in September, so I've had all the paperwork to sort out. My Uncle has gone into a care home and there was no one else other than me to clear his flat out. I now have my mum's to do, so have to pace myself. Take care, Jeff
Brilliant video thanks, I think I might have the same problem with mine, might have a go at fixing it myself
Hi Mike, it's certainly worth doing yourself. Take care, Jeff
No wonder the rail system in the uk is such a mess 😂.
Lol, everything is delayed.
Have you got a purchase link for that pump you used
Hi Paul, I hope that the link comes up underneath. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/296067583449?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=lc9dq7mosfg&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=xfNwdEPVSeO&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Thanks for a really useful and clear video. Incidentally, the spark plug problem can be solved by using a spark plug spanner (socket) with a rubber insert which effectively grips the porcelain of the plug as you insert it and saves a lot of frustration!
Thanks very much Geoff. I think my socket has seen better days. Maybe I will treat myself to a new one with fresh rubber Take care, Jeff
Looks great. Where do you get parts from? Im starting on my AV3. but i have a little trouble finding parts for it. Morten From Denmark :)
Hi Morten and thank you very much. I get a few bits on eBay and there is a company in the UK called Classic Moped Spares. Factory50 in France is very good, but since Brexit I have had problems getting things from them. I hope that helps. Take care, Jeff
@@DiecastPowderCoating Thank ypu very much. That was very helpful :)
Hi Jeff, hope your well, nice paint work and it's come up well. Just needs a bit of re chroming around the head light, she will be as good at it was in 1979. Sorry for late reply been in Manchester from Friday stopped over and a bit of shopping got back to Wrexham late yesterday so it's a bit of catch up. As always a great video take care
Hi Shaun, I hope that you are well too. Just a few bits to do only small cosmetics left. I bought a slightly larger Jet for the Velosolex and tried it out this morning. I managed to get it to 18mph only 16 before. That will probably be it for speed. Sounds like you have had a busy weekend. Take care, Jeff
@@DiecastPowderCoating Hi Jeff, we are well mate, thank you. You could say it was busy , being dragged around the shops, it was different I don't mind its once in a while Take care
@@shaun30-3-mg9zs I hate being dragged around the shops. There is nothing in the shops for me anymore. I used to like Wilko, but that's gone now. What would we do without the internet.
@@DiecastPowderCoating Bad enough being dragged around Wrexham shopping but Manchester, HELP !! it a big place but it was good
Looking really smart now jeff ,I hear jenny voicing her opinion 😅. All the best Martin
Hi Martin and thanks very much. Jenny is nag nag nag, just like the wife lol. Take care, Jeff
Nice job Jeff looking great 👍👍👍👍
Thanks very much Alan, it's getting there. Take care, Jeff
Well done Jeff good job good to see you back 👍👍👍👍
Looks great Jeff
Hi Ted, makes a change something going right. Take care, Jeff
Bloomin nice job jeff , you do make me laugh when you always expect the worse to happen !! , I'd like a little spray gun like yours, can you tell me what it is and where you got it if your happy with it Mike
Hi Mike, I just expect something to go wrong usually when on camera. Yes I am happy with the spay gun. I think I got them from Amazon, with my 20 years on the railway voucher. It was about £18.00, but I bought two. I haven't used the second one yet, as the first one seems to be running OK. Take care, Jeff
hey Jeff.....forks look the biz.....how do you keep the flies off your fresh paint? thanks for the vid as usual.....look forward to next installment.
Hi Adam, unfortunately I don't normally keep the flies off the paint, but this time I was lucky. Normally something runs, usually the lacquer, but this time all went well. Take care, Jeff
Hi Jeff what brand of disc and pad do you use? I have a mg hs petrol use
Hi, it was a long time ago and unfortunately I lost the MG in a shed fire in June last year. I think I searched for them on eBay. They were mid range ones and a lot less than MG. I'm sorry that I can't be more help. Take care, Jeff
Hello Jeff as always very interesting video velo are a nice bike it looks good real happy you found another FZ50 after what happened the last one i do remember you saying you really liked Suzuki the blue is a really nice colour will you keep it or sell it i would not be able to part with it i have one and love it best bike i ever had. Take care and thanks great videos.
Hi Tony, it's great to hear from you and thanks for watching. The velo is incredibly slow, but still enjoyable just going to the shops and I get loads of comments. It was Mr Bean's Holiday that inspired me to get one. I thought that was the funniest scene of the movie, with the Velosolex. As for the FZ50, I was pleased that I got another one. I had problems with my original orange one with PDI. I couldn't get a spark so replaced the PDI and it fired up straight away. I didn't have time to ride it, but thought I would wait until my day off, unfortunately I never got to ride it again, because of the shed fire. That's why I bought another one. Since I have sorted it's running issue, it's a dream to ride. I take that to the shops if I haven't got much time, unlike the Velosolex. I have no plans to sell these two. I lost my mum in September and it is now called Jean after her and the Velosolex is called Fred after my Dad. It is my way of dealing with her loss. Take care, Jeff
Hi, can I made a connection to plugin it ? Or it’s really necessary doit with a battery ?
Hi, no I don't use the battery anymore. I have a little transformer that brings it down to 12v, they aren't. expensive. Take care, Jeff
Nicely done Jeff, and it runs so that's a good result, glad the funeral went well for you ,all the best Martin
Thanks very much Martin, just got to sort out the sticking brake caliper. The funeral was more of a celebration than a depressing event. At least she is not suffering anymore. Take care, Jeff
HeyJeff...welcome back and im glad all went well. In the past for small valves such as the decompression valve I have used a heat glue gun to stick a small dowel to the valve then lap it.....more recently I have used CA glue as it really holds well and no damage to the valve...... thanks as always for the videos..... look forward to the next one!
Hi Adam, I hope that you are well. Thanks for the tip, I'm glad this one had a screw head on it, but your tip is good to know for the future. I was going to sort the brakes out today before work, but it's wet and windy, so thought better of it. Take care, Jeff
Hi Jeff, hope your well,, A big job on the Velosolex new piston and cylinder. A bit of a fiddle to put back together, hopefully she will be running fine and be back on the road. Great video as always, catch you soon Take care
Hi Shaun and thanks for watching. Just need to sort the brakes out again, but the engine sounds fine. Take care, Jeff
Geoff I don't think you should be smoking whilst playing around with petrol tanks 🔥
Hi Steve, I did think of that when I played the clip back, I hoped no one would notice. You are quite right. Take care, Jeff
Your a bit like me when working on an engine, always got a fag on the go.🔥
nice car.... but buy a small folding table to put bits on . Nothing worse than a engine with tools, can and bolts etc on top ! Ive always blanked off EGR's and had them mapped out . Cars run so much better !
You're absolutely right. I always mean to put up a table of some kind, but always forget. No matter wherever you think is safe around an engine, I always lose something. The Jaguar still has the problems, but my father in law always needs it. He has just gone away for a six month holiday, so when I get time I will dig deeper. Take care Jeff
Is this the same job for the 2.7 model ?
I'm sorry I'm not sure. It must be very similar. Take care, Jeff
Stunning... had one of these a very long time ago.❤
Hi Brian, thank you very much. Take care, Jeff
The solex looks awesome glad you sorted the Suzuki out will be thinking of you on the day of the funeral 👍👍👍👍
Hi Alan and thanks very much. I have spent way over what they were worth, but that's not the point for me. I am ready for the funeral, just a suit to get. Take care, Jeff
Those new wheels certainly finish it of nicely and ,welldone done on fixing june ,
Hi Martin and thank you. I can't go too far on it at the moment, I'm still waiting for the brake block from France. The wheels came in a week, even with a hold up in customs. It's been two and a half weeks so far and no brake blocks. Take care, Jeff
Hi Jeff You are right those new wheels really do show the bike of I have always said to my friends you can have a rough looking car but if it's got so.e nice wheels on it it will still look smart wheels make any veachal one you have past your mums send of you will start feeling much better I have lost both parents I have been their mate the lovely jenny will pull you through take care mate 😊😊😊 Phil in stoke
Hi Phil you are absolutely right about clean wheels. If ever I don't get the chance to wash the car, as long as the wheels are clean, it makes a big difference. I think I am all ready for my mum's funeral, I have just got to get a suit. My Uncle is finally out of hospital and has moved to a care home in Portsmouth. Apparently he has now got MRSA. Luckily he has got some friends down there, they have taken a lot off of me. I will have to go down there on Friday to take some of his important things from his flat in Woking. Luckily they like dogs in the home so I can take Jenny with me, so she also gets a day by the sea. Take care, Jeff
Hey Jeff......Nice new wheels mate and good to see youve resolved the drive issue on the suzuki carb! Hope you are coping ok with your loss. take care
Hi Adam and thank you. I seem to be getting on top of things. I've just got to get a suit, I am off Wednesday, so will have to be then. I need to go through the inheritance tax forms with my other Uncle the evening of the Funeral. He was quite high up with P&O doing their taxes. He has done loads of the forms for others so hopefully I can get that sent off and get on with probate. My other Uncle is now out of hospital and in a care home in Portsmouth, apparently he now has MRSA. I will have to go down there on Friday. Take care, Jeff
Hi Jeff, looks like FZ50 is up and running trouble with the carb. New wheels for the Velosolex just the finishing touch it needs. I hope every thing goes well on Thursday I will the thinking of you and your family, look after your self and catch you soon take care
Hi Shaun, I took the FZ50 to a friend of the family a couple of days ago, that was about a five mile round trip and it didn't miss a beat. Now back to the cosmetics which was the original plan. I'm still waiting for the brake blocks for the Velosolex. I wish I paid a bit more and got them in this country. The funeral is all ready, but I just need to get a suit for my son and myself. My uncle has left hospital and has gone down to a care home in Portsmouth. He has now got some sort of MRSA. He has friends down there who have been fantastic helping him and me. I will have to go there Friday and find out what he needs from his flat in Woking. At least it will be a day out with the wife and Jenny girl. Take care, Jeff

Jeffe You mum is now free from Pain She is safe in God's hands and will always love you and be with you jenny will help you until the pain eas you are doing g a lovely job of the bike I see it's chain driven do those chains ever wear and rattle take care Phil in stoke
Hi Phil and thank you for your kind words. The last two weeks of her life were the worst for me. They say she wasn't suffering, but she was and didn't know I was there. Now that she has gone, I have a sense of relief that she is out of it. I don't want to think of her from the last couple of weeks, just what a wonderful mother she was over the whole of my life. My son has taken it very badly and he has had a couple of anger episodes. I upset my wife and his girlfriend. I've told him to speak me if he feels like that and touch wood he's been Ok since. Jenny is certainly a great help. I suppose the chains in the gearbox eventually were out, but because they are constantly soaked in oil, it would take a long time. Take care, Jeff
Hi Jeff, my thoughts are with you at this time. This are moving well with the Suzuki FZ50, you done your powder coating and applied gasket seal. Not much more to do now she soon be on the road. As always a great video, Take care
Hi Shaun and thank you for your kind words. I just hope that it was the crankshaft seal. I was pleased I could eventually get the powder coating done on the case. I had a little run on the Velosolex today, only about half a mile each way down our road. It did run smoothly, but not sure of the speed, it didn't feel fast. I have downloaded an app so I can check the speed. I can't go too far as I noticed I have lost a front brake block. I have ordered a set from France, with the backing complete with rubbers. I may then risk going further. Take care, Jeff
fingers crossed it will run better now when you put it back together....... my thoughts are with you regards mum.
Thanks for your kind thoughts. If it doesn't work I suppose it will have to be a complete strip down. Take care, Jeff
@@DiecastPowderCoating So sorry to hear from Pat about your Mum's sad passing Jeff, I send my sincere condolences and sympathy to you at this sad time for you and your family. I have let my brother Ted know of the sad news and he may well be in touch with you shortly. Kind regards to you. Alan Daw.
@alandaw7 Hi Alan, once again it is great to hear from you. Thank you for your kind message. I have very mixed emotions. I feel a sense of calm, I was very upset seeing mum in hospital towards the end and now I feel that at least she isn't suffering anymore. She didn't respond to me the last couple of weeks. I am not particularly a religious person, but I strongly feel that she is with me in spirit. I had the same feelings when I lost my dad ( Fred) My son James has taken it very badly and has suffered a couple of anger episodes. This upset Ying and his girlfriend Emily. Touch wood, he seems OK and have told him to speak to me about his emotions. He's been OK the last few days. Thank you very much for letting Ted know. Once again thank you so much for your condolences. Take care, Jeff
Nice honest review 👌
Thank you very much Mike. Take care, Jeff

Keep on struggling Jeff. Great video. Best wishes to Jenny and the family.
Hi Roy and thank you very much. Unfortunately I lost my mum on Monday, so put the video out a bit earlier so that I can do a little tribute one next time. I was really happy with the hand painted finish, but I didn't have much time to carry on with it as I was worried about my mum. In between all the paperwork and places I have to visit at the moment, I thought I would have another go this morning and with a bit of heat again, all screws came out. I think it was divine intervention. I am feeling OK as I am relieved that my mum is not suffering anymore, but I seriously feel she is with me in spirit. Take care, Jeff
Wasn't happy that should be
And im so sorry to hear about your mum😢
Thank you so much Dave. I am doing OK, as I know that she is not suffering anymore. It the rest of the family arguing, my son has taken it very badly and had an argument with the wife. She's also having a go at me as she says I didn't listen to her. Take care, Jeff
Well done Jeff, interesting content as usual
Interesting video Jeff, good tip that actually worked, getting the oil seal out , you did the only thing you could do on the caseing, breaking it would have been a major set back .
Hi Martin and thank you. Yes I didn't want to damage it, but may go back to it in the future. I bought the video forward from Saturday as my mum unfortunately died on Monday. I hope to do the next video as a tribute to my mum. I do feel OK at the moment as I am glad she is not suffering anymore. I have thrown myself into all the things that need to be done. Take care, Jeff

Hi Jeff, hope your well, more work on the FZ50 it's a shame that the studs cant be undone I suppose to much hammering can crack the case, hope the paint goes on well. How is your Mum and Uncle.... Catch you soon and look after your self, Take care
Hi, Shaun and thanks for watching. I may come back to the case at some point. Adam said I may end up drilling them out. Unfortunately my mum died yesterday. The reason I released the video today was because it would have been two Saturdays time, before I could show the next video. I would like to do a little tribute on the next video. I am doing Ok, I feel a relief that she is not suffering anymore. For the last two weeks, she didn't really know I was there. I have a feeling she is now with me in spirit and back with my dad on what would have been their Wedding anniversary. My son has taken it very badly, he had a big argument with his girlfriend in the middle of the night. It made my wife ill as well. I was out with Jenny tonight and she called me to come back because he was smashing things up. I had a go at him saying that everyone is missing mum, but getting angry doesn't help anyone. My Uncle is still in hospital, they are trying to get him into a care home in Portsmouth. I haven't seen or told him about mum yet. I am waiting to pick up the death certificate, I will have to tell him then. Sorry it's all a bit depressing. Take care Jeff
@@DiecastPowderCoating Sorry to hear Jeff, my thoughts are with you at this time Take care

Hi Adam, I would have carried on if I had time, I may go back to it later. The reason I put the video out today was because unfortunately my mum died yesterday. I would like to do a little tribute to her on the next video, but if I had waited until Saturday, then by the time the next one came out, it would have been two weeks. I dont have a django but this raises an issue with me that a lot of owners of motorbikes (or cars for that matter) do their own servicing and if you cant get rid of the service light its annoying,,,,,I can do it on one of my motorbikes but cant on my (older) Audi.....I find it really annoying that I have to pay to have it reset!!
He Adam, it is frustrating if you can't clear a service light. My neighbour asked to get rid of his light on a VW Polo. That was a palaver, having to push brake pedals and all sorts of buttons. When I changed the Django for Km to miles, someone asked how I reset the service light, but I couldn't do anything until it went to zero. Take care, Jeff
