  • Hello again and thank you for watching our latest video. We are back with the Jaguar XF 2010, in this video I clean the DPF filter. Although other problems with the engine prevented me completely solving the problem the Normfest DPF100 did a great job of clearing the DPF. I still have some other fault codes to sort out before I can clear the DPF warning.
    Take care,
    Jeff & Jenny xx

Hi Adam, I know it's my Father in law's car, but I love to try and get to the bottom of things.
Unfortunately I have just wasted two days this weekend on it for next week's video, some of the things that I did I thought, that's it, there's the problem. Sorted it out and the restricted performance warning comes on again.
My son will have to wait for his car to be done until I'm on holiday in three weeks.
I've checked the different forums, where people have been back and forth to Jaguar and they haven't managed to fix their problems. What chance do I have on my own.
The following week I should be back on the two strokes, thank god.
      Take care, Jeff

At 58, I feel I am too old for working. Last week was 7 days in a row and most of them 10 hour days. When it comes to my hobby I feel too tired to do anything.
      Take care,Jeff

The MAP sensor( the onethat was blocked) fits on the so called throttle body. At the front end of said throttle body, on the inside, is a plastic butterfly that sticks. If you go on O’Reilly’s Mobile mechanic on YT, he has a temporary fix.

Hi Pedr and thank you. Yes I have seen O'Reilly's channel, He does some good videos.
I have spent the last two days filming next week's video. You were right the butterfly was sticking. I went to clean the rest of the throttle body and the two inner pipes from the EGR pipe were absolutely caked in muck. It wasn't until I cleaned it that they had vent holes in them.
I thought that's definitely the problem, but unfortunately the restricted performance came straight on.
Another two days wasted. I have smoke tested everything and there are no leaks.
The week after I will be glad to get back to the mopeds.
      Thanks again.
      Take care, Jeff

Hi Jeff, hope your well, always some thing with diesel engine and there fault codes, my brother has DPF faults quite often but he only travels 7 miles each trip to work and it's nowhere near enough for the engine to warm up you need to do at lest 20 miles per trip he drives a Vauxhall Insignia CDTI 2.0 , but saying that he also had a split pipe off the throttle body sucking in to much air the car would not rev over 3000 rpm or it would go in to limp mode. I've always had petrol cars never had issues I drive an 06 Toyota Avensis 1.8 VVTi and before I use to have Nissan's ,3 Sunnys and 2 Primera's all been good cars. I hope you can sort the fault out with your farther in laws Jaguar it is annoying working all that time on the car and hasn't sorted the fault out,. As always a great video Take care Mate

Hi Shaun, yes not bad at the moment, I hope you are well too.
Yes diesels can be a pain. Sometimes one problem can trigger a few codes.
It was strange seeing the orange DPF warning for a second, it has been stuck on red for a while.
I have struggled on this weekend for next week's video, I think I have found the problem, then back to restricted performance again.
Thank god I'm going back to the good old 2 strokes the week after.
      Take care, Jeff
