      I'm not even discussing height or weight in my comment. Proportionally, men have larger hearts, lungs, and limbs. I've dated a man my exact height and weight. He was still much stronger and faster than me. Men have more power. They can throw and punch better because their hips move independently of their shoulders, they have more fast twitch muscle fibers, and their shoulder structure is different. NONE of these advantages go away even with HRT.

      It's about the impact of HRT on the body and whether advantages are maintained and if advantages are maintained how do we ensure that cis women can compete fairly while ensuring trans women arr also not excluded from sport.
      The other side of the coin is how we can ensure trans men get an opportunity to compete fairly.. Separate trans male and trans female seems to be the answer but I would say that further research and discussion is needed.

It's not a very difficult eye test, there's a reason men and women do not compete in the same categories, Michael Phelps would make the fastest female swimmer ever look as if she weren't moving. The fastest men's 100m dash is an entire second faster than the women's record, saying there's only a 10% difference between the two is not an accurate description, as there's a MASSIVE difference in times that are a fraction of a second within one another. I don't think people understand how nearly impossible it is to shave a fraction off of competitive Olympic times. Biological differences are far my complicated than the quantity of one hormone. Due to some health issues I have had my testosterone levels checked frequently throughout my life because they have fluctuated more than most people. I do not take any drugs or hormones, I just get my T levels checked regularly. Usually my levels are high because I weight lift daily and bench press 300 pounds. Last time they were around 1000. But there have also been occasions where my levels have dropped very low. At my lowest point my levels were around that of an average woman around 60 and when that happened I felt very tired, but even at my lowest point my strength has always been far greater than a woman's regardless of my T levels. My endocrinologist told me very plainly that "The difference in strength between men and women stems from much more than just testosterone levels." He explained that if your body is still getting stronger and you are full of energy, then the trstosterone number on your lab report doesn't really matter, because even a man with low testosterone may very well be alot stronger than a man with T high levels and no matter how low a man's T levels may dip, he's always going to be stronger than a woman. This is what my endocrinologist said and he deals with people's hormone levels for a living. My point is that trying to divide sports based on T levels is not a viable system. Biology is far more complicated than a singular hormone number.

    EDIT: I'm only talking about elite competitive sports here, I don't see any reason for exclusion from social sport or anything else that isn't handing out prestigious awards and large cash prizes.
    I'm a trans woman, and to be honest, I don't think this a hill we need to die on.
    Even if trans women have no competitive advantage at the highest levels of competition after being on HRT. It is possible for them to get a competitive advantage by lowering their anti androgen dose. This means that there needs to be mandated serum testosterone limits for trans women in sport that would have to be set arbitrarily and would be invasive to enforce.
    This would also open the door to cis women feeling pressure to take testosterone as a performance enhancing drug since they would perform better at the sport if they increased their T to the mandated limit.
    Ultimately you're making a situation where some group of female athletes are allowed to alter their testosterone levels and the rest are not even for a world where there is no inherent competitive advantage after years on HRT.

      Would it be unfair to make a distinction between participation versus competition. It's difficult to negotiate what is fair and most inclusive without otherizing. Transgirls are women, so to treat them differently is to fail them. However in athletics it seems that a male genotype competing against genetic females is unfair to those at an inherent disadvantage. To have a Trans person compete against those with whom they do not identify seems unfair to me. I hope very soon we figure out a way for everyone to wake up winning.

    There may not be many trans athletes now, but if we keep changing the rules for them, there will be a whole bunch of them in women's sports in a decade winning all the titles if we don't stop this ridiculous inclusivity trap. This is happening at the expense of real women. Also, where does it end? Will they start receiving women's scholarships and promotions and filling in their quotas at the expense of biological women? No offense to trans people, I respect your right to exist and your desire to be called a woman, but you are not a real woman. When you visit the doctor you do not go to the OBGYN. You don't have ovaries, you don't know what it's like to PMS and have your body not cooperate for weeks, you don't know what it's like to give birth. Just because you start taking hormones doesn't change that. Just like I will never be someone outside my race no matter how much surgery I get, you will never be outside of your real gender. Life is unfair, and we don't all get what we want, but it is what it is. You guys deserve your own category not just in sports, but everywhere else, like bathrooms. It's only fair to everyone.

      Most men keep their male bits, that's why their testosterone levels are well beyond what any healthy woman can produce.
      But, whatever. If they took something that damaged their healthy bodies and make them unable to compete against other men, that was their choice.
      You won't let a 20 years old to participate in the 60+ category, even if that 20 years old smoke like a chimney and had bad lungs due his own choices.

    • @Maxrepfitgm
      @Maxrepfitgm 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @jackjames7283 The problem is, just like abortion, it's not up to men to decide and trans women are men saying they want to compete against women and it should be up to the real women if they agree to that or not, not men or Transwomen.
