People seem to be more on the side of taking away opportunities for transgender athletes because discrimination against people like us is embedded in our society. People seem to forget that there is such a small sample size of trans women in sports. People seem to overlook the effects of testosterone suppression on them.
Take it from me, I am a trans woman who runs competitively. I perform worse now among girls in my age group than I once did amongst boys, and I never stopped my training. I’ve been on testosterone suppression for a little bit over a year.

I believe we need to approach how we think about this a little and base it on science instead of emotion. There should be a XX Chromosome league (called a women's leagues now) and an open league (called men's leagues now) where both XY Chromosome people and XX Chromosome people can play (men's NCAA baseball have women playing now because some are better than men and can compete). There are scientifically proven AND well documented advantages of people who have XY chromosomes and that has to do with the height they can grow to (before a possible transition in gender). Those physical advantages before transitioning cannot be changed EVER and are unfair for people who play basketball and volleyball (among other sports). All people can play a sport AND choose to transition BUT they will always fall into 1 of the above categories which remains the same even after transitioning (transitioning doesn't change your genetics of having XX vs XY chromosomes).

We all need to support different leagues besides professional men’s. There’s Little league, AAU, College, Womens sports, Disabled sports, XGames, ESports, etc. So hopefully the future will have Trans sports. It’s not about “fitting in” it’s all about acceptance and support. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a trans league possibly even a trans Olympics. These are great ideas and shouldn’t be shunned by the trans community. I don’t think the idea of starting a new league would dismiss the talent these individuals have but rather it would help display their talents in comparison to other leagues. To identify as a trans person means you were born the opposite gender you identify with so in absolute fairness starting trans leagues is the perfect solution.

You've won the genetic lottery if you won the generic lottery that makes you taller and bigger. Regardless of your a male or female in sports chances are you're going to make it as a professional athlete while the rest of us are trying to make it by jumping through multiple hoops to even get an opportunity. I say all that to say it's not going to probably be in my generation but the next generation will be able to figure this out about transgender athletes because this issue is going away.
