Feed an tamed Phiomia with stimberries , place it near your crop Plots and call it Poopdispenser, they have diarrhea If they eat stimberries
Dont put the phiomia to close to other dinos. The diarrea may sometimes explode.
in my experience equus taming is badly designed in official progression maps, by the time you have the carrots you no longer need an equus :(
I agree, carrots shouldn't be so hard to obtain.

I’m on official PVE ragnarok and once you get to level ten you can tame an equus. Go to the grasslands near the red obelisk and you’ll not only find wild carrots and potatoes but you’ll find loads of equus.

Found a unicorn on carno island about 3 days into a restart..carried it to herb island with an argent and tamed it in complete safety ;-) Thanks for all the videos Phlinger!

@@threespotgaming it's actually one of the best first tamed dinos cause they have a high torpor dealing kick and can easily knock out a trike if its a good level
I have a little over 800 hours on Ark and I have never seen the purpose or the desire for an equus until now.
Ironically I've just came back to the game and on Ragnarok. Think I'll go tame an Equus now ^_^ Thanks for the really informative video! Even experienced players can learn a thing or two, I've been watching your videos as a recap but I learn at least one new thing with every one of them.

I loaded up a new world and found a unicorn... But then a sarco ate it😞
Happens. Had a guy tame a max level Unicorn on 1st day of Patreon server, then an Alpha Rex ate it while we were setting up the camp.

I blow up a unicorn with c4mistaking it for a equus
I found one at the black sands and as soon as I head down on my argent a rex spawned in and ate In front of my face and I just blew up

Just tamed a level 130 equus as first tame on ragnarok. Thank you. These vids always help.
Dude, your videos have been so helpful. Thank you for the content. Its educational, the episodes are hilariously funny.. "Nailed it" and "wrong button" are quotes i now use often while playing ark.. Im offline so i love the single player solo play.. This island is mine.. Lol the max 150 tame pteradon and argintavis are perfect.. The rest of dinos I have tamed. I out grew my base

I have 4 brontos that I have platform saddles on and 4 paraceratheriums with the same setups and I have built a mobile base with mobile taming pens slash animal storage pens on the platforms..
Offline is where it's at!
No griefers no toxic kids..
Just you and the dinos and the environment.
It's a challenge.
But one I excel at accepting.
This game taught me patients and has become my way of slowly but steadily conquer the anger I have inside.
Truly a game like no other.

Brilliant ending sequence
Brand new spawn and I get a unicorn right next to me! Worked up to level 10 so I can feed it, and during that time I tamed a para... finally reached level 10, went up to feed the unicorn and my damn para kills it!!

Best map for early game taming is ragnorak highlands. Carrots grow there and equus are all over the place.

This game looks awesome, how come it’s not more popular?? It’s like a mix of Minecraft, Jurassic world evolution, and maybe star stable (okay that’s a stretch but still) lol

Was lookin round for an Equus and boom, out of nowhere a unicorn was right behind me. I tamed it IMMEDIATELY as I had carrots on hand and I went home with a unicorn :)
Tips for if you dont want to farm the rockcarrot seeds in highlands NE theres a few spawns in the ruins nearby on ragnorok

I saw a 112 level unicorn female when i first spawned.
I used Savoot for my Equs it took like 5 of them to tame so that also works too!

@@PM-vn6gw I usually have the best of luck in redwoods, and plains, but the problem with Equus is that they are a rare sight so you can never be 100% sure. If you play on a specific map look up where to find them on that map in google, and if that doesn't work look into videos, it can take a bit of research but this creature is totally worth it if you are looking for a fast mount when it comes to travel.

I wish I could put a short prologue, or synopsis, on these videos that talks about the real life inspiration for the Ark dinos. Equus Giganteus, in this case, and how the Ark Equus is some kind of hybrid called Equus Magnus.
Very similar to the Ark Allosaur, who is a hybrid of multiple different Allo species, like A. Fragilis, and A. Maximus. Can't remember if Helena specifically mentions that in the Equus dossier, like she does with Allosaurus, though.

how did I find a unicorn before I found an equus??
I tamed a 210 unicorn and I was wondering what u could trade for them. Can anyone tell me a good trade for that unicorn ?

also equus spawn commonly in the redwoods just outside of the lake inside the forest. ive found upwards of 7 at a time there. also they spawn behind the redwood forest
I found two in the swamp one male and one female there were 2 rexes nearby so I killed them then then tamed them up and now I have mutated imprinted perfect stalions.
blue supply crates open at level 25, so not much help compared to opening the engram at 26 :-(
Been meaning to ask you on Discord, but this seems more appropriate so people could learn from it:
On the Island with no special settings. Got some Equus, with saddles. Made the lasso, equipped said lasso while sitting on the horse, but the lasso stays unusable. I've tried on different Equus, taking the saddle off and then putting it back on, crafting more lassos, taking my armor off, etc.
Do you have any idea why I can't use lassos? Have you come across this before?
I have before. Certain mods, especially stack mods, break Equus.

By the time you find a Equus and carrots you don't even need them as they can fight but not well
Yesterday i found a unicorn on the island at 70, 85 after i chased a titanosaur (which fell from the sky) into the ocean. i found it close to the lava cave

I find some equus near the green obelisk too
Although you can ride an equus without a saddle if you do they will be killed pretty easily. Without that bit of armor their HP is only almost high enough for them to be useful. Although they do heal pretty quickly.
In order to plant carrots you need a crop plot which is level 26. On ragnorok when you reach level 10 punch a Trike in the face so it can kill you and re spawn in the high lands and go get carrots(warning A Giga and Wyvern spawn is near and occasionally Allos) be cautious) get your carrots from the high lands and find a horse and go for your Equus tame. You must be level 10 to tame Equus on Ragnorok
For those that know the ragnorok map. It’s my favorite map
But they expire very fast,before you get enough of them they already wasted

Is it possible to pick up the Equus with an Argent and drop in a safer area for taming or will they just never stop freaking out at that point?
You can pick em up with an argent and drop them in a taming pen. I haven’t put them in one yet myself so I can get back to you on that in regards if they stop freaking out. Most creatures tend to calm down after a while if you just leave them be in there (so long as it isn’t a spiked pen like I did in the start)

Lee Doughty it is possible and if they freak out get out of render range and come back.
U can u just need to stay away for a little so it can calm down and then u come back to tame it lol

Your unicorn is so beautiful :). how do you find unicorns btw? I read that they're super rare. It would be a dream to get one. :0
The unicorn spawns in the same locations as equus, you can check the wiki to see where on each map. the trick is, there will only be one wild unicorn per map. If it dies, or if you tame it, there will be a wait until the next wild one spawns.
I actually tamed a sarco using my equus

Hey phlinger, I’m pretty sure you can only get those seeds by using a creature
You can harvest rockarrot seeds by hand, and you can harvest rockarrots from one type of bush

I found two with my friend and we just spawned I wanted to tame one but both ran away
I've been playing the island for like idk hundreds of hours and have beaten all 3 stages of all 3 obsilisk bosses and tonight I plan on killing the last boss and then I feel like all my hard work will go to waste. I'll be starting over in a strange new world. I'm thinking aberration or something. Something that's got different things to do

Correct, just one wild at a time. Once you tame it, or if it dies...a new one will spawn. But until then only one will be on map.

Best way to tame it on console is just hook up a keyboard and press E
